Happy almost Friday everyone! We’ve been busy making some content this week of all the latest BMW models! We’ll have a full review on the new i5 M60 coming soon! Along with a few others. Stay tuned and thanks for watching! 😊
This is probably just my opinion, but the old BMW design has exhausted itself. BMW has been experimenting with this design since 2000, it seems to me that it would be difficult to continue to improve this design, because the original design is the most beautiful and appropriate, and the rest is already superstructured above it. In the new generation, the car has changed coordinately, the proportions have changed, etc. Аnd people hate to the fact that they are not used to seeing BMW cars like this, maybe after the restyling and when everyone accepts such a design, I think people will stop scolding it
@qwaswd3173 The G60 or G90 design is inspired by E60. The F90 is more of an evolution of the F10, which is fitting that its the predecessor turn. Based on the next generation 3 series being an E21, I would say after, we would get an E12 inspired design.
and for 70k a underwhelming 4 cylinder at that! I get it's a hybrid and "base modle"but you have Golf R's hitting low 4's. Heck my 22 Arteon with no added hybrid power is sub 5 seconds 0-60.
As a bmw owner, seeing 4 cylinder models these days ascend to 70k range is like crazy. Maybe it was always this expensive and I don’t recall but I think my 2019 x5 m sport with the b58 was about 70k back when it was new.
@@volvo_3877 I feel like we’re getting scammed to some degree. I get inflation and covid but I think everyone is exploiting those reasons to the detriment of the consumer, just speculation on my part, I could be wrong
The car looks good, the color is definitely helping and that would definitely be my color choice. Although SUVs are what folks crave, I absolutely love that BMW is still pumping out sedans. Despite the massive large beaver grilles, I always appreciate BMW designs. Most of their vehicles have this masculine, sporty, handsome look. It just looks like a man's car.
It's amazing to watch and listen to our reviewer. I've never seen anyone present such precise information in such a fluid way. He makes it look effortless but few people could match that. I love those grills. I love the color, just everything. I'd buy one just like it if I had the mula. Seriously.
Along those lines, a 2016 Honda Accord V-6 did 0-60 in 5.8s (5-60 in 6.0s), got 34mpg highway, and cost $35K. Toss in a modern infotainment (while retaining physical buttons) and I would seriously consider it.
@Brian_Eugene_Lee yes but think reliability as well. Because Toyota and BMW worked together on the powertrains for the Supra/ Z4, they have been proofed by the Toyota team and have proven to be extremely reliable. I don’t think they want to mess with a good thing. They are #3 behind Lexus and Toyota now and that’s major
I am a German fan, a BMW lover & owner of a 23 x3M , and I love how BMW are doing their cars by having the electric cars look identical to the gas model cars. Mercedes EQ designs are a big bubbly , and not as good looking in comparison. Good job BMW.
The 550e plug-in hybrid seems like it will be the 5-Series sweet spot. Obviously going to cost way more than this, but having close to 500 HP and a 40 mile electric range is way more compelling than this 530i.
But not every potential plugin hybrid owner is guaranteed to have charging access . I think the 540xi is the one to but considering it's gotten a significant power boost.
@@111danish111 It's also gotten much heavier and it is not any sportier to drive. I expect 0-60 to be 4.5 seconds which is still plenty fast but nothing special. At those prices, you can end up in a Model S LR or even a Lucid Air. Those Air model have incredible handling/feel for an EV and midsize/full-size car

I was just about to write the same. I own an X5 50e and it`s fabulous. But then again, there is the I5 M60. That`s M5 performance for the price of a well equipped 540.
I didn't see the Camry until you mention it. It's all in the trunk space that actually opens. Very similarly shaped. Also the bigger 5 is to emphasize/market the model your driving and the 30i being smaller is the trim. I'm sure thats gonna make its way to all models in BMW.
BMW is truly losing it with their design. I know that enthusiasts love to always badmouth newest gens and saying how "previous looked better," but genuinely I feel they're going downhill. Not much cohesion or distinction in design. By the way, there's no "x" in espresso, so no need to pronounce as such. :)
I'd still get a G80. When you step inside you feel like you are in a special car. Plus the entire top of the door panels and dash are lined with proper materials. Even a Santa Fe comes with soft touch on the upper door panels and dash. It also offers similar screens although slightly smaller. Their are very few things in this car that stand out that make me want it. It's also MASSIVE. Similar size to a minivan minus height. Again, genesis G80 all the way. This new 5 doesn't feel special or luxurious. In fact the interior looks chintzy and cheap, although i am sure it is built well.
The door pockets seem to have shrunk by 50% compared to the previous generation 5 series. You can’t fit more than one water bottle (or not at all for the back seats) on the sides. Kinda disappointing consider how more space was considered but not for storage.
BMW went crazy with all the gloss black on the exterior. I am once again asking all car makers to eliminate or limit the amount of gloss black on cars (either interior or exterior) and also give us back normal physical switches and buttons inside. Not everything has to be on a touch screen. Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk.
Hey Sofyan, I believe if you were to turn off TC you would be able to shave off an additional 0.1secs or even 0.2secs if launch is spot on, and be able to beat or match the claimed 0-60mph time. Otherwise great vid!
@@michaelwillis5929 well, cost of the vehicle has nothing to do with the power it produces. Although I agree there is a correlation. 530 with 4 cylinders is fast enough

Are there some things I would change yes of course but though the styling has changed this is still a BMW at heart and that's what counts in my book. The new 5 Series is for all intents and purposes a downsized 7 Series. It rides more like a 7 Series and drives more like a 7 Series the latter of which I am not too fond of. I liked the road feel of my previous 5 Series more than this one. Some of the technology BWM reserved for the 7 Series and above has also been put into the 5 Series. The design changes were obviously made to carry into the next decade without another major change. Look for the other major luxury car brands to move in this direction. Mercedes already has though not to the same extent as BMW. At some point, they are going to realize manufacturing completely different body designs for automobiles depending on their power plants is not a good long term strategy. As far as paying too much for a 4-cylinder, you are going to pay about the same for BMW's major competitor the Mercedes E-Class which also has a 4-cylinder. That is just the way it is. Of course, you can buy a Chevy for a lot less.

WOW, is this ugly inside and out! I’m sticking to my 2011 BMW 328i xDrive Wagon, 6 speed manual, single hump sport package. I hate the cheap looking un integrated screens with all the high gloss black plastic, and instead of a N/A inline 6 as the base engine, a turbo 4 with hybrid crap. I’m not gonna buy another new BMW, sticking to Porsche..
Yeah the back looks alot like a lowly Toyota Camry or older Avalon to me, particularly the tail lights - Very un-BMW looking in my opinion. Overall it doesn't look "ugly" to me but I don't think it looks particularly attractive or expensive.
So,.....design is subjective, we all know. For me, the front end _design_ is good....except for the parts they painted black. It seems out of place. The angled straight lines just don't go with the rest of the car. I would rather have had the black sections the same color as the rest of the car. Same for the black painted lower parts in the back. Not a fan at all. The interior is extremely boring...lacking any discernable personality at all. Just another collection of screens with no actual design.
few tweaks to the design could have made this the best looking BMW.. Slimmer front/hood, wider, shorter front overhang to prevent it from looking like a FWD.
Saw this car for the first time today on the highway and as I caught up to it I was def thinking refreshed Camry when I saw those tail lights. Very un-BMWish.
For whatever reason BMW USA has decided NOT to include the rear digital 4-zone climate control, soft-door close, front massage seats, and the comfort luxury seats for any of the US 5 Series market. Thus, your front seat's headrest is now manual, the front seat extender is manual, does not have the side bolster, and the list goes on. On the i5 M60, the US market will NOT get the M-style seat belts, and the wheel design is limited. BMW USA is going to lose a lot of enthusiasts who are very familiar with BMW products and many US customers feel that they are getting robbed by paying these high prices and not receiving the same equal features and options. Dealers are also getting frustrated because for decades BMW owners were used to these features and now BMW USA has taken it away for US market only.
This is not about converting currencies. With cost of living and inflation, the US consumers are paying a lot more and getting a lot less. @@vlad-marincalota6819

few tweaks to the design could have made this the best looking BMW.. Slimmer front/hood, wider, shorter front overhang to prevent it from looking like a FWD.
This car does NOT have the interaction bar! Its apart of the Executive pack with soft close
Rear look like 2023 Honda Accord and Genesis G80.
Saw this car for the first time today on the highway and as I caught up to it I was def thinking refreshed Camry when I saw those tail lights. Very un-BMWish.
Love the color, glad it has an engine. Not sure i consider this car sporty at all.
Beautiful exterior. I am not a fan of the dual iPad dashboard.
You are paying a lot less than European market, so yeah.
This is not about converting currencies. With cost of living and inflation, the US consumers are paying a lot more and getting a lot less. @@vlad-marincalota6819
Where are these manufactured?
Germany 🇩🇪
Back seat should should have heated seats
You have to purchase the luxury seating package to get heated rear seats
@@87jallen thanks for informing
Who in a world uses heated seats in rear?
Looking forward to the new e class review
I’m starting to like this…what’s wrong with me 💀
These car manufacturers be finessing with a $70k entry price on a luxury sedan with less then 300hp. 😂😂😂
A $70K car and it doesn't even include rear-seat climate control? Even my Audi A4 has that.
Definitely worth the $4700 for the six.
you're freakin lucky you will be getting 540i, stupid EU only allowed 520i... Such a shame that climate idiocy.
Just had a new 4 series as a rental and was impressed with the fuel efficiency but the engine felt so underpowered
35 MPG is excellent for a vehicle of this size.
The rear is giving Jaguar XF
This car should be 15k less than what it is
Imagine the repairs $$ on this as this car ages….
Needs more grill, not enough grill!
@@Brian_Eugene_Lee Realistically less grill but since they're already there's a grill war, more grill
It looks terrible. Remind me of Honda accord
