Less than 1,000 views (954) after 4 days? Your reviews since the 1st Giulia QV review are so personable! It's like we're buds driving on a road trip as you detail what you like and don't. And how previous decade cars remind/compare.. all with that NY speed talk. LOL! Thanks for this one as the 530e may be next after my '20 e-klasse. Cheers from Richmond, VA.

I rented a very similar car (2022) on Turo, for three days. After a half-day learning curve, I have to say that I fell in love with it. I’m now very seriously considering buying one, maybe a year or two old.
Fantastic review, I was really liking the i4 and a Tesla S, but just haven’t pulled trigger on full electric. I am liking the idea of a hybrid. I love your comment about the Rice Burner with Loud Exhaust😂.
This is a great review! It precisely touched on the key attributes I’m looking for in a midsize luxury sedan. It pretty much has everything the 2023 Mercedes E class has plus better looks and way better fuel economy!
I replaced my 2018 QV with a PHEV (Volvo V60 PE Recharge) and while nowhere near as driver focused or visceral as the Alfa, I’m amazed by how well the newest PHEV drivetrains work and how satisfying they are to drive. Extremely quiet, linear power delivery and a very useful all-electric range. The regen braking is addictive and also has me using a lot less of your auto fanatic wheel cleaner 😊.
I'm a car trader. Just got one in a month ago. I've been using it I don't want to sell it. I charge it every night I've not put any fuel in it. Awesome car. Also mine is remapped to 400 bhp so it's fast
I bought this car couple of weeks ago. You’re right, everything is right but the only drawback is the battery is so small. Only charges electric enough for 30 kms. And as soon as the battery is empty, it starts burning fuel like hell.
Yes I have the exact same vehicle in a 2018 and it’s absolutely fabulous I love it , and would buy the new 2024 body style when it comes out and guess what I bought it for $15k used with 71k miles with a 2yr / 24k mile bumper to bumper warranty. Best vehicle ever get a used one 2019 for under $20k
This actually has the Sensatec seats. It's a synthetic leather and below Dakota in terms of pricing. I have no idea why Dakota is still an option with how good the Sensatec feels. You can option it with Nappa leather which is much more luxurious and definitely worth it IMO. I really wish we got the 545e in the states with the B58
The truck information is actually wrong!! If you lift it up. It does allow it to drop and you have a deeper trunk… the reason it’s flat like that is because they put a lip there for you to pick elevated or deep
The EPA rates the BMW 530e at 25 mpg combined. My 2012 Infiniti M35h is rated at 29 combined and actually delivers 30.5. The Infiniti has more hp (360 vs. 288), a faster 0-60 - (5.1 sec vs. 5.7). The PHEV of the BMW is nice, but why such bad performance? In the last 11 years, has automotive technology gone backwards?
His loaner does not ACC, the seats are Senatec fabric best to be avoided in favor of one of the two different REAL Dakota leathers. Rear of trunk floor does fold down to create more space.
Hey Phil since you're very knowledgeable in the Car scene, you've mentioned the runflat tires. Why does BMW insist on fitting them as standard when they deliver their new cars?
they do it because of lack of spare tires and they also love to oversell the wheel and tire insurance that ends up screwing most owners when they need it. the runflats are nothing but headaches in the northeast because the tires bubble too easily and wheels bend and crack on harsh impacts to potholes. the 530E i had was a brand new car and 3 tires already had sidewall bubbles by whomever previously drove it. nothing but a nightmare and I tell people to immediately swap tires on these cars brand new and get a Safety Seal plug kit for some piece of mind.
@@autofanaticcars my mk7.5 gti didn't come with a spare either and didn't have runflats. I just have a bottle of fix a flat in the back that's all, but thanks for the clarification. Keep up the Videos you're doing great
What a bummer that BMW didn't introduce the LCI version for 2023 like they did with the 3 series. Also, I don't think the new iDrive 8 screen is goofy at all. I'm 38, and I welcome the change. The older iDrive 7 looks dated to me and I own a 2023 330e.
To each his own. I own a 2022 330e with iDrive 7; I had a 2023 330i loaner car for a couple of weeks, and while I liked the size of the screen - especially when using navigation, I much prefer the interface simplicity of the previous version.
It does. It also uses the same powertrain. I love my 330e XDrive! The transition between the electric motor and the ICE is seamless and operation of the engine is nearly as quiet as driving on the electric motor.
I think this current generation 5 series looks so much better than the monstrosity that they unveiled a few weeks ago. Bmw seems like they're lost and they're just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks at this point. The upcoming 5 series is just downright disgusting and bloated looking.
@autofanaticcars I agree. I saw the new BMW XM on the road for the first in upper Saddle River NJ when I was at the Maserati dealer with my Ghibli that breaks every day, and it's such an awkward looking SUV. BMW needs to get it together.
@autofanaticcars I 1000% agree with you. They had the new Gran Turismo and MC20 in the showroom when I was there. They also have an MC20 Cielo, which they are selling for 100k over sticker. It's insanity. I love my Ghibli, but even I have to admit that they are the type of cars that you dump as soon as the warranty is up. My car has had 20k worth of warranty work done in the past 6 months if you can believe that.
Regarding the Alfa and Ghinli, I still have my 18 QV. No issues over 30k miles other than 2 CEL lights which I cleared. Literally zero time in the shop since new. Also had a 19 Ghibli S. Car was bullet proof. Had it for three years and 20k miles. Traded it in on a 22 911 C2S. Actually got a decent trade in value. No complaints whatsoever
I just can't get over how badly designed modern BMW's have become. The interior looks completely parts bin....that screen is ridiculous. The exterior elicits almost no emotional response other than wondering if that's the new Avalon. I used to be such a fan......but there is literally nothing BMW makes that interest me anymore. Just canceled my M2 order as I actually got an allocation for a 718 Cayman GTS. 6spd.
yeah most brands have really lost their way for us enthusiasts thats for sure. this car overall drives amazing, granted it isn't sporty or sexy but the hybrid design, build quality and chassis were definitely worth talking about. the M2 in person grows on you but the dash and lack of proper gauges still annoys me with my M3. Considering what I would replace the M3 with now and there are not many nicer options today unless you buy an older car like an E92 or C63Black. The 718 are so hard to get still.
I thought I was the only one who was thinking about that but fortunately you've voiced it out. Thanks dude. Those new BMW EV's are just looking like fashioned coffins with no more emotions. I just can't understand what the heck is going on in the minds of car designers. I really hate those sort of glossy plastic nose replacing those beautiful front grills. They are just looking "Yuck" nowadays.
Ironically enough I was watching a review of the 330e today. Weird that the turbo 4 only makes 181 hp. Should be more. Long term longevity is always a question mark for European brands.
Had this as a loaner for a week. Very impressed with how much power she puts down on the xtraboost sport mode
And it ride’s amazing i was impressed myself

Glad it was helpful!
Had one as a loaner also, was really impressed.
Just rented the same one (except an M-package) on Turo for upcoming week-long road trip. Your review gave me an extra excitement about it.

Nice yeah this hybrid tech had gotten so good over the early generations now it’s seamless

Hello, Thanks for the video! Do you know what model are the rims? I have the same car but I'm looking for those rims...
Great car.
No vented seats for that price is actually a crime
Wow! Thank you.

Thanks for sharing the materials feel very nice
We will soon get the b58 in the 550e that will be released later this year!!
Good and useful video! Since it was a rental / loaner, I guess you didn't try charging it. But good tho!
The truck information is actually wrong!! If you lift it up. It does allow it to drop and you have a deeper trunk… the reason it’s flat like that is because they put a lip there for you to pick elevated or deep
How do you think this would compare to an Audi A/S7
This definitely rides better and feels more refined but S7 definitely looks cooler.

i have the 530e x-drive 2021 in summer 55km winter 35km in pure electric it have enough of power here in scandinavia
how does the self-charging work? Does the battery get charged from the gas engine?
It needs the 6 cylinder. I have the x5 45e and it barely feels enough compared to the weight of the car and batteries
I gotta say been driving this for a few days and the power is great overall to daily it even getting on a highway to merge it has performed so well
I wonder if the 330e has the same level of build quality
It does. It also uses the same powertrain. I love my 330e XDrive! The transition between the electric motor and the ICE is seamless and operation of the engine is nearly as quiet as driving on the electric motor.

They need to steal designers from Mercedes ASAP otherwise doomsday. This 530e drives amazing and is well built for the money seems like a bargain

Ghibli is just as bad as my Old QV. I drove the new Maserati Granturismo Trofeo it’s incredible but the price doesn’t make sense over $200k

these are cars you lease for a few years i would not own past warranty, the warranty on the electric powertrain portion is 8 years I was reading.
I always hated bmw and this is first bmw that i am concedering buying.
