Best bike I have ever owned. I purchased the belt drive which is awesome. Need to point out the bike is so high quality that even with motor off the bike is a pleasure to ride as a “normal” bike. The ride options and quality is unparalleled- period. I’m into quality and innovation and Tern nailed it with the HSD. I’m 6”2 and 220 and this bike rides like butter. I highly recommend the belt drive - no dirt, clatter or oil smear. Just awesome. Thank you Tern for breaking the norm and the mold with this awesome transport vehicle. I sold my 911 and just have the bike to commute to work. It’s way cooler than the Porsche but in every way just as high quality. I obviously can’t stop yapping on about this bike. Buy one if you can find one.
Thanks for this review, heavy carry bicycle: nice for taking lots of luggage, with pretty low sitting/peddling: for sure need to beware of taking corners (peddles hitting the ground). FYI: Ring/frame-lock: the key stays in if it is open is an insurance thing: with the key in your hand, it counts as proof it was locked (at least, it's enough over here).
@@karinroten3606 well it depends what you mean by off road. It’s not a bike to use on mountain bike trails as it’s too big and heavy. But on dirt roads it will be comfortable. I have no doubt with its balloon tyres and front suspension.
Some US dealers are advertising a P9 Performance model that has the same motor and battery as the S+ at $3800. Otherwise is has the same specifications as the standard P9 for an additional $300. Do you think that’s a worthy upgrade? Interesting Tern does not show the P9 Performance on their website.
Could you specify which saddle is it again, I've been trying to search for that saddle and couldn't find it anywhere on the internet, I cannot purchase anything like it!
I would love that! Haven’t tested a Haibike for some time now and the Trekking models were some of my favorites from before. I will definitely keep an eye out :D
Court, I normally love your reviews but I just wasted a half hour of my precious life because you forgot to mention right off the bat in the description that this is just a Class 1 e-bike! There is no throttle! Many of us don't live in Europe and are no longer young enough to rely on Class 1 bike limitations:-(

I really want the belt drive but the battery is only 400 wh....how is the range ?
Excellent review and very thorough as always, EBR. A class-leading bike, premium priced.
Great, thorough review. I’m 4’11” on a good day and enjoyed my test drive of this bike today.
Thanks Court, I'll be testing one of these out on Monday or Tuesday. A woman in my neighbourhood has an HSG and loves, uses it to commute to UVIC.
Awesome! Hope you enjoy it, I like this particular model because of the price and standard derailleur setup :)
Thank you. I have this bike and now I know lots more about it.

Interesting, I appreciate that insight! Makes sense…
I got the HSD S8i and it really is brilliant. So stable and comfortable. I like to throw it about but so far never had a pedal strike.
is it comfortable off road?

great video and really helpful as I decide what my next bike will be. thanks.

Wow, did you really have the motor on?! I haven't heard a quiet motor since Brose!
Where were you when you made that video? Vail got it.
Longer drives would make these reviews better.

Thanks Leo! I was in a hurry trying to squeeze this review in before the event ended. It felt a bit choppy to me to. Will keep working on it ;)
