I had been considering a non-electrified version called the Short Haul. It's a good bargain as the Quick Haul unfortunately is illegal in my country because of weight laws

I am getting a Electric Bike, BUT i have heard about exploding batteries, is this true or should i not be worry ?.

Batteries catching fire is mostly just an issue with really cheap sketchy batteries from like AliExpress. Something reputable like Tern and Bosch shouldn't be cause for concern
What happened here? All reviews other than this one (which is 6m old) are more than 2 years old?
Horrible bike. Bought one ( D5) six months ago. Nothing but issues. Assistance dropped a couple of times. Vendor claimed bike was ok. Then the nexus 5 started slipping. Vendor claimed bike was ok. But then, the bike completely locked up, broke the transmission, rear disk brake and completely knocked out the rear wheel. It's still at the vendor for repair now and it should fall under warranty but I think if I get it back, I'll sell it. Never rode it further than 3 miles because I couldn't trust it and would have to walk back.
Never heard of a D5. And the Tern D8 is a great bike. Are you sure you’ve got a genuine tern bike?
@@0500MUSIC Typo, P5. Of course it's a genuine Tern. If you want to make a knock off of it you'd end up...with a tern. Got it back after 7 weeks. Seven! Due to tern parts delivery delays. Gonna sell it anyway, don't trust it. Besides, I'm moving to an appartment and it's of no use to me, too clumsy. The city I live in is completely car free ( Ghent) and a foldable is of more use now. Won't be a tern though. More likely a 1500€ ADO air 20S or Estarli. Or maybe, as a non foldable, a (much more expensive) R&M Tinker. Just never a Tern again.
@@johnmaletic898 hahaha you’d end up with a tern was gold😂😂 but honestly I’m in London n now I’m wondering if maybe you had a defected bike or maybe even a different manufacturer makes the bikes for tern where you’re from? Because honestly my D8 has been great
@@0500MUSIC Nah, problems from the start. Torque sensor, nexus tension going limbo, Clark brake pads falling out, speed calibration is terrible ( compare a drive with another performance engine and 20 inch wheels, big difference). Oh well, changed circumstances ( moving to smack in the centre of Ghent) require a more practical, compact ( and cheaper) one like the new adoS or the British estarli. Bought the tern in march so maybe I get a good price for it. Still a good ( and needed) warranty. Dunno. Maybe my tern got assembled on a blue monday by a Taiwanese dude with a hangover.
