Agreed but here in the U.K. (at-least) devices with cameras need to be “toys” also, which is poorly defined but I can’t see how the more expensive ones can really be a “toy”. Very helpful/informative video as always. QUESTION: I'm thinking of buying the controller first so I can log a ton of hours on a SIM. I'm a Apple Mac user. Any recommendations for a SIM that works on a Mac and will the DJI controller connect to a Mac?
Hey, i have the qx7 and want more range to fly over water...what external module should i buy ?my problem is that i have not so much money to spend on. And it should be easy to setting up, because with the firmware😬 at the end is takes months to get it fly.... What do you think is the best to do?
After weeks of research and some hours in sim, doing comfy... I would never go for less than something like this. With every hobby i got into, its worth spending extra and be set for a while, and reap all the benefits of quality parts. For sim car drifting i recommend people the same, at least like 400-500€ for a mediocre setup. And its the same here... proper thing is like 800-1500€. (EU) So trippy that this video got released right now... Is it a sign to get off sim and into the real deal 😂 ( not feeling like building my own for first drone, im more into the flying part rn )
Not really "premium", but the Eachine Novice IV kit doesn't look bad for a starter set as you don't immediately have the replace everything. Think you even get batteries too.
I fly large model helis 3D and very capable and familiar with mode 2 controllers. Would you recommend one of these ready to go kits to me? I would definitely be spending time on a sim much like I already do for helis.
Question from someone who never purchased an FPV drone before, when you buy a FPV digital drone, they always ask what receiver to include with the drone, what do you select? PNP - Frsky R-*** or TBS Crossfire. I do have the DJI Goggles and controller. So I think I just do PNP ?
It's always good to make sure with the company you're buying from specifically to make sure they wired it up correctly, but yes, the PNP version should allow you to use the DJI controller.
Another great video good detail on what to buy .THANKS MATT . bought 5" for my fist quadcopter was way to much although I didn't use a sim, had to put that aside and picked up the TH2
Found this after commenting on another vid of yours. This is perfect, but what I am after is a pre configured cinelog25 with DJI stuff, can you help with what I need.
Hey Matt, love your content and I always find it extremely helpful. I've got a question for you (or for anybody who wants to help me out): I bought the DJI FPV Drone as soon as it was announced because it was the first truly accessible way into the FPV world for someone who doesn't want to learn how to bind stuff, weld electronics or just not want to burn their house down by charging batteries the wrong way. I'm now looking for a Cinewhoop under 250gr to create cinematic sequences of (mostly) indoors flying: I'd like to use the DJI Goggles V2 that came with the DJI FPV Drone, so I would "only" need the drone, some batteries with their charger and a radio. Is it possible to get a RTF bundle similar to the ones you showed in this video in this configuration? Also, which drone would you recommend? I'm torn between the Cinelog25 and Cinelog30. TIA!
Since you already have the goggles, if you purchase the DJI radio and the drone, it's really easy to bind that equipment together. DJI simplifies it a ton. They have a few videos on RUclips that you can watch to see how easy it is. As for the Cinelog, both are very similar. The cinelog 25 will be great for indoor but will get blown around a tiny bit more if it's windy outside. The cinelog 30 will be a tiny bit bigger and slighly less stable indoors due to larger gusts that it will produce, but slightly more stable outside. You just have to decide what is your priority. Again, both are very similar.
Hey I really want to get into taking videos with drones, what drone, goggles and controller is worth it that can hold a gopro, and that is compatible with a drone sim?
Im.gonna start fpv with a cinelog35hd Any reco u give me for . the 6s battery i cud use . Should i change my v2 antennas for true rc air or axi2 . What charger is the most easy for the batteries nvm the price . Shud i put a lipo for the dji battery goggles
These kits are basically the same price as the DJI fpv kit. Why not just get that. That battery life lasts ten times longer. Wouldn't that kit be so much easier? (Also thanks for responding to my last comment the advice really helps out. Getting help from someone with experience is really great. Love the vids!)
The DJI drone is great and really easy to use but a lot of people are disappointed by it's performance and/or camera quality + stabilization. This is just another alternative and will get even better results than the DJI FPV drone for those willing to eventually fully dive into fpv.
When you fly freestyle, the DJI FPV Drone battery does not last ten times longer than a standard 6S lipo. Only if you fly in stabilized Sport mode then you’ll get very good flight times. So just like non-DJI fpv, if you cruise you’ll be efficient with your battery, but if you like full acro you will drain quickly and nowhere near DJI’s stated 20 minutes.
Hey Matt!! Thank you for the video as this helped me a ton in trying to narrow down on the kind of drone purchase I want to make. However, I’m curious if the DJI setup allows upgrading the antenna linkage system for greater distance flights? Hope you can help out with an answer there. Thanks again bud!! & Keep giving us the good stuff
I'm looking to buy a drone I already have the Jumper T-Lite controller. I have $500 to spend on a drone, goggles, battery and charger. Is it possible to find all this for this price? What do you recommend?
Great video as I believe it was perfect for someone like me. What would you recommend for someone that has RC flight experience with all the tools already. I currently fly large scale 3d 700/800 size helis. I'm looking to make my first purchases to see if FPV is for me. I would like to spend a bit more up front to get quality. I waited for the tech to mature somewhat because I felt the anolog was unappealing visually. I would be doing zero cinema and more freestyle. I would appreciate your thoughts. Also, because I spend so much time already building and maintaining my helis, I would prefer not to build the first but I can be persuaded if it makes sense for me. 👍
Bro!! Nahh you don't understand. I purchased a go pro last year with the hopes of eventually getting into fpv. I do want to get a good bind and fly straight up and practice on the sim before actually flying(cuz i feel buying one of the tiny kits is just some extra money to spend).. No channel was giving me the info i needed but yours. The time you put into your videos, how you explain., fuckin Godsend i tell you.
What’s up everyone. Can someone help me? My son has gotten really good at flying all over the house with his goggles. I want to upgrade him to something he can fly outdoors but RTF and brushless. He is 7 yrs old and can fly fpv amazingly well, but… as a dad I still worry about him hitting someone or himself and causing damage. Any advice is appreciated. Cheers
Yo, can we get a middle cetagory here? I don't want to pay top dollar, but I don't want the cheap pos I'll be sick of in a week. I need some bang for buck, what's that perfect setup that's surprisingly cheap for what it is? That one setup all the pros make fun of other people flying it because it's good enough to keep up with them but cheap enough for any random person to buy!
It is better to build your own.... bind and flys are still the cheapest build possible most of the time. Just using the pro pilots frame design. So the motors and all the electronics are not top of the line. I spend anywhere from $800-$1200 on a whole build that is with the gopro included and the T-Motor F7HD stack/ F55a4-1ESC I use F80Pro2200KV motors on 6s! (Fucking beast ass motors!) and the strongest frames I have ever used and tested are the Apex Standard frame and the apex 5.5” frame. KINfpv’s AtlasV3 frame, But the (The Gravity Loss GRL Titanium Pro 2 frame) is by far the strongest lightest fastest build I have it will take an absolute beating over and over and over again. I’m still using the same GRL build I built from day one. Which is amazing cause I was breaking an apex frame atleast once a week.
@@MattPochwat thanks for the reply! Keep up the good work. You’ve made me want the protek 35 or the other cinelog 35 (or whatever its called) you recently made videos about
I'm considering getting an iFlight Bumblebee V3 as my first drone. It's not really a RTF bundle, though you can order it as a kit, but I wanted your opinion on it as a first/intro drone. And to see if you have any suggestions for an FPV drone to fly in the house on heavy weather days. I plan to get the DJI Goggles and do the analog mod to it.
I know you aren’t after my opinion on it, but: I started off with bumblebee v3 and very quickly outgrew it skill wise.. I’m still a newbie (5 months in) and bought the Nazgûl Evoque F5 and honestly have not flow my bumblebee since
Depends on your location (rural vs urban) and what type of flying (cinematic vs acrobatic). Cinewhoops like the Bumblebee just can’t handle quick dynamic movements especially on pitch (flips). But a cinewhoop is great for smooth camera footage and flying around people or tight areas. In any case, skip the Bumblebee and go for the Diatone Taycan if you stick with the 3inch cinewhoop idea. Good luck!
just out of curiosity, aren't all the new faa requirements going to make it next to impossible for beginners to fly fpv outdoor legally or for that matter for anyone to legally fly outdoors without having to deal with a bunch of bs government requirements and restrictions?
I'm not sure man. I don't live in the US but here in Canada you do need a license to fly legally and even then it's difficult to find good legal spots to fly
Hey man awesome job putting this together. One quick question, if I were to buy both DJI googles and controller do they come with the batteries to power them up or is that seperate? Thanks a lot for what you do. Once you let me know i will buy through your link. Keep up the good work💪🏽
What the other guy said is correct! The controller should come with batteries and the V2 goggles should come with a battery as well. The V1 goggles do not.

Did you add the tbs crossfire to the drone or did it come standard with the package?
I added Crossfire to the Johnny quad. It came with the air unit wired up for the DJI controller
Do they make a prop guard for the 5" Johnny FPV drone?
After weeks of research and some hours in sim, doing comfy...
I would never go for less than something like this.
With every hobby i got into, its worth spending extra and be set for a while, and reap all the benefits of quality parts.
For sim car drifting i recommend people the same, at least like 400-500€ for a mediocre setup.
And its the same here... proper thing is like 800-1500€. (EU)
So trippy that this video got released right now...
Is it a sign to get off sim and into the real deal 😂 ( not feeling like building my own for first drone, im more into the flying part rn )
Not really "premium", but the Eachine Novice IV kit doesn't look bad for a starter set as you don't immediately have the replace everything. Think you even get batteries too.
any QAV-S JohnnyFPV Special Edition 7" Long Range FPV ??? video ???
When you add the crossfire transmitter, does it include the receiver?
Anyone know if you can see the standoffs in the Johny FPV frame after installing the DJI 03 air unit?
What will happen if you put a bigger battery on a drone? Like will it fry it or can you do that?
Plzz plz make the 6s to 4s soon. My quad is 6s and I always crash it.. plz I really need that video 😓😓😓
Maybe you can do a similar banggood buying tutorial for your subscribers from eu since the taxes are quite high for us if we order from us :)
If I buy a RadioMasterTX16s and a 5" iFlight drone, is it possible to use my laptop to view the drones flight till I can afford the goggles?
Found this after commenting on another vid of yours. This is perfect, but what I am after is a pre configured cinelog25 with DJI stuff, can you help with what I need.
hey nice video, im interested in the jonnhy fpv drone but what do i need if a want the tbs tango 2 controller? thanks!
Do you know where can I buy a camera mount and vibration dampening for protek35?
Again, both are very similar.
hi Matt, I bought the Dji fav kit, is it possible to buy other fpv new radio but still use the googles ? u got some suggest?
so no matter what you order on one of those sites it will come already binded
Hey I really want to get into taking videos with drones, what drone, goggles and controller is worth it that can hold a gopro, and that is compatible with a drone sim?
Im.gonna start fpv with a cinelog35hd
Any reco u give me for
. the 6s battery i cud use
. Should i change my v2 antennas for true rc air or axi2
. What charger is the most easy for the batteries nvm the price
. Shud i put a lipo for the dji battery goggles
They don't ship mambo with battery no carrier will let them made video on this issue
These kits are basically the same price as the DJI fpv kit. Why not just get that. That battery life lasts ten times longer. Wouldn't that kit be so much easier? (Also thanks for responding to my last comment the advice really helps out. Getting help from someone with experience is really great. Love the vids!)
I’d think the dji drone wouldn’t be as good for freestyle since it is so bulky and all
@@Rentzin Yeah but if your flying cinematic which is what its meant for than its pretty great.
Can u share the tune ?:)
Cheers
The tiny hawk 2 freestyle and I do think you should get him one too boost him into the hobby
@@futurehomesteader thank you. I will check it out right now
@@futurehomesteader is it indoor or outdoor?
Cinelog25 analogue. Get a Radiomaster TX12 or TX16.
GepRC Phantom Is great.
Transtec Beetle
You will need a radio.
Out door
Yo, can we get a middle cetagory here? I don't want to pay top dollar, but I don't want the cheap pos I'll be sick of in a week. I need some bang for buck, what's that perfect setup that's surprisingly cheap for what it is? That one setup all the pros make fun of other people flying it because it's good enough to keep up with them but cheap enough for any random person to buy!
After all that showing what to select, you didn't show the final price? 😒
It is better to build your own.... bind and flys are still the cheapest build possible most of the time. Just using the pro pilots frame design. So the motors and all the electronics are not top of the line. I spend anywhere from $800-$1200 on a whole build that is with the gopro included and the T-Motor F7HD stack/ F55a4-1ESC
I use F80Pro2200KV motors on 6s!
Is it worth getting any analog cinewhoops these days? Or do I need to bite the bullet and get the dji goggles
No man, analog is totally fine. It's just video quality. You can get amazing range with both.
Does it freestyle?
Hey man awesome job putting this together. One quick question, if I were to buy both DJI googles and controller do they come with the batteries to power them up or is that seperate? Thanks a lot for what you do. Once you let me know i will buy through your link. Keep up the good work💪🏽
controller and v2 goggles come with batts plus u can use 4 to 6s batts with goggles
What the other guy said is correct! The controller should come with batteries and the V2 goggles should come with a battery as well. The V1 goggles do not.
@@2bfpv882 thanks for the info.
