Livakovic's mistake led to Messi's penalty, which he was unable to stop. On the other hand, Martinez saved many many penalties to literally win the world cup. It's obvious that both Livakovic and Gvardiol were great players this WC and performed really well, but those mistakes are putting them below Argentinian players.

The "but they won the wc" also means nothing as this is the individual award, if Croatia had messi, di maria and refs they'd done the same.

i hope people start showing the respect to Croatia like they deserve now, 2 back to back semi’s in 4 years, only France has done it and they won it the last time over us, we might’ve NOT won it but we’ve realised how much of a heart Croatian players have, gave it their all the whole tournament, especially Modric at the age of 37 yro, getting silver and bronze in 4 years is more than enough for me as a Croatian❤️🇭🇷
