Even Sargent, in later years, said she wasn't kind to him at first. They eventually became friends. It's like Moorehead blamed Sargent for Dick York's problems, which is a joke. I think that Sandra Gould did a fine job. People usually go with the first person they see in a role and won't accept a replacement, no matter the reason. Notice the chandelier over the dining room table. It came and went in early seasons.

They should have never replaced Darrin Or Gladis, the show would've been fine without them. They always had other characters to make it interesting.
