Just getting back into DAOC and this is a fantastic guide. Actually switched to lock because of it (there doesn’t seem to be many guides out there). Thank you!
Sadly they nerfed the "Lock" so often and always so badly. Years ago it was indeed the most amazing caster class in the whole game in my opinion and it was my absolute favourite! You could spam manaless spreadheals somewhere in the corner to keep the group alive. You could load a Bolt + Lifeleech in a chamber and cast the same combination to unleash 2 Bolts + 2 LL together. With this you could kill an enemy caster almost within 2 seconds. You could UI Bomb whole groups of enemies within seconds to dust. You could load Spreadheal + Heal in a chamber against incoming dmg spikes. You had a secondary DoT with amazing dmg and rupt with each tick. You could kill almost all stealthers in a 1on1, 1on2 with UI Lifeleech-Spam. Now it's only a tiny shadow of its former glory. Yes you still can do efficient support in witchcraft and decent damage in Cursing... BUT far far far less then in the beginning of this class. In the current version 1.125 broadsword also nerfed most pet classes (after they gave them love in former patches). Since Mythic moved to EA and then became "Broadsword" they killed or crippled so many classes. The gameplay with casters is very different then it was a decade ago. Some classes got changed massively over the years and some almost didn't changed since the very beginning of DAoC in ~2002. Just look at the Champion, all main tanks in the realms, all main spec nuker in the realms, all off tanks in the realms. They haven't changed very much in the last 16 years! A new spell or ability of little changes in the melee lines here and there but they remain mostly the same.
Great summary, thanks. However, I am really sad to see how gutted warlock is, it's a bad version of a caster with some chamber buffs which are limitted useful especially with their internal cd. All the fun of combinations and the uniqueness and freedom of the class has been completely removed.
@@lilredhoodrat2152 I think there have been some slight changes to warlocks. I thing some of the damage types on the bikes have changed and the dot with the disease in the doom chain is no longer usable with the Uninterruptible primer
@@Obelisk918 thx mate. Was at work and got home made a warlock. Asamoto my name. I went wc. Should I stay or go something different till 50 and respect?

Enjoy it! I believe some of the info in this videoay be outdated, so keep an eye out for small changes that happen after I made this video
Learned alot here! Mainly that I wasn't using my primers right lol. Great video thank you!
It's a tricky class! Have fun on your warlock!

That Doom was Insane!
Haha, it's pretty scary :P
@@Obelisk918 as a new player to Daoc is this guide still good?

What level did u get doom?
Doom is 50 WC.
good I love Albion class
Ok. So doom at 50. What lvl for the frog? Lol
The frog is in the hexing spec line. If you go for Doom, you get a green level frog.

@@billybob7392 WC probably isn't the best to level with. Cursed has good damage for PVE with bolts, nuke, and pbae
@@Obelisk918 last question I promise. You frog something. Is it possible to nuke the frog dead before he/she comes out of polymorph?
@@billybob7392 yeah, it depends on how hard you nuke I suppose :D
