I wish the stupid Oscar producers would let Gary present her one more time. They gave Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell doing leading actress. Why not Gary and Sam? He’s doing actor with last year’s winner for supporting actress, Allison Janney. To me it should be the male actors presenting to this year’s female winner and the female actors to the male winner as it’s always been done. McDormand usually says the wrong thing and I don’t want her taking away from Glenn’s moment. Gary and she are friends so it would mean more.

im the biggest little monster ever, i was up on stage with gaga when she came to my country, but i love movies too, and i saw both performances on their respective movies, and sorry, but glenn's performance is superior, ppl believe that you have to cry ot yell hard to act well, is not true, what i loved about glenn is that she played everything in that movie, from A to Z, she was a strong wife and mother to the public, but in front of her husband and son she was so weak, it was so amazing how she went from one personality to another in a second, she was a caring wife in the beginning, and a careless wife in the end, cry, laugh, EVERYTHING, in only one movie, gaga's performance was dramatic and well acted, but did not have so many angles as glenn's had.....as well as many people who didnt even watch glen's movie are saying, that she is getting awards for being old, longevity, i say that gaga ia being overly applauded for being a newly introduced actor that came from music. A see all the comments, people, before saying stupid things, go and watch The Wife, cause im pretty sure you didnt, chances are you only saw gaga's movie, cause glen movie only has 4 million dollars at the box office while gaga's has 300 million dolars....

Without a doubt, Glenn Close is the most wronged actress in the history of cinema. Total lack of respect, consideration and humanity the Academy of Oscars never gave her a statuette. An extremely talented, unique, special, competent, deserving, magnanimous actress ... who unfortunately never had the recognition she truly deserves. It was already for Glenn Close to have at least 3 Oscars. I hope that justice will finally be done at the Oscar 2021 with her interpretation of the film Hilbilly Elegy. I hope Netflix will make a heavy and strong campaign. The Academy will never be able to correct all the regrettable injustices that Glenn Close suffered throughout his career. This movie star cannot die without winning an Oscar. Let the entire voting public have a minimum of compassion and empathy. God bless Glenn Close. Justice for Glenn Close! 🥇👑

But I love how her peers respond to her-a standing ovation and it’s so touching to see them show her the love and respect she so deserves. I’m sure she appreciates it too. She truly deserves this acclaim-for a lifetime of incredible work and for this year’s timely work in The Wife. I dare say she’s the only one who could’ve pulled off this performance as effectively as she did. It’s a performance which asks her to remain silent most of the time-using only her eyes and face to tell what she’s feeling inside. It’s a feat to do that and she succeeds incredibly well. She does get a chance to let it out and does that very well too. No doubt her next film will build on this since it’s highly likely Sunset Boulevard is going to get made now. She’s said they have a writer and director.

I think she’s going to upset Colman at BAFTA. Her film is partly British produced too. Glenn Close has worked very hard for over four decades. I’m very happy for her. I’ve been a fan for a long time. She’s a truly gifted lady (and having encountered her in a talkback for The Wife I can say she is very humble, gracious and a nice lady).

@@mohamadnurfakhrihartoyo9298 no not really. golden globes have a lot to so with who you know, considering its only about 80 members that vote, and SAG tends to go to the popular actor, since glenn is more well known by her acting peers than olivia. when it came to the oscars, it came down to olivia having an amazing debut in hollywood or glenn for being a veteran actor. she gave a great performance in the wife, but there was something more special about olivia's portrayal of queen anne, which is why she won. glenn will get her chance, and if she doesnt who cares, she doesnt need an oscar to be a legendary actress. she already is one.

Glenn won the Sag award from her acting peers, who, one assumes, have a better appreciation of the art of acting. They could see that her performance was hands-down better than Olivia's, which was less a performance than a suppuration. The Oscar voters for best actress included many non-actors with an unjustified reverence for an English accent, even when it's just screaming.
