Thanks for the video! Regarding resolution, it’s important to consider pixel density instead of just the resolution in general. With a smaller lens, the density is quite high.
Regarding what Quest 2 can’t do, I wouldn’t use my Q2 while traveling…just handling the two controllers already feel bulky with people sitting next to me. Definitely not on the metro. For VIVE Flow, you just take out your phone and slip in the glasses and it works. So I see that as a big benefit.
The other is lying in bed and tossing and turning while watching something. Q2 feels less comfortable and I actually don’t do this much, especially with the big battery on the back.

That’s a great point on pixel density. I mostly agree with everything you said and in the end I actually want a pair.
Just for the average consumer I don’t know if $200 is worth increased comfort with less features.
For the Q2 I actually keep the original strap around if I want to watch stuff in bed! Much more comfortable than rolling the back of your head on a battery or a knob lol.
Thanks for the in depth comment! I’m always down to talk VR!

What a let down. I am sure most busy mum's would rather buy a bottle of wine than a $499 headset! Seriously though, what busy mums and busy people need is time. When my wife asks me what I want for Christmas or my birthday, my first reply is time. For me, VR is luxury time which I can only afford when everything else is done.
I had a serious burnout a few years ago and the best medication is sleep, exercise, daylight and fresh air. It took me six months to drag myself off the sofa, so the last thing I needed was something to keep me there.
I think they have been developing this for a long time, with best intentions, but have been floored by the Quest. I think they had to get this out to recover some loses and some feedback.
The design is nice, the size is nice, the lenses are nice, the diopter adjustment is great, but the tech is old.
$499 No battery? No controllers..... no thanks.
All the best, Rich in Sweden.

Well said. I think most ppl wanted this to be a hit but it just doesn’t offer enough for its price point.
