- Arco is great as it offers a variety of face and slab climbing. This wall is one of the most unique I have ever seen. Unlike most other Arco slabs, it is very smooth, with incredible and often very sketchy moves. Watch the video of Diretta Italo Spagnola, an 8b+ on a 5-degree slab with notorious Arco views. It is real - 8b+ in a slab can actually have decent holds, not only razor blades! Highly recommended to watch and climb!

To be honest, most climbers can do 7a.
The narration reminds me of when the pilot talks to you during a flight "we're going to continue our ascent through the crux before reaching our cruising altitude at around 8b+"

Slabs are a truer gauge of climbing ability than overhanging routes in my opinion. Saw a guy who could climb overhanging 5.12c/7b+ completely unable to climb 5.7/5 slab.
I wouldn't say "truer", but definitely different. Rock type matters a lot also.

Am I the only one who is deeply impressed by how Adam uses his thumbs?
My first lead climb was a 6a slab. I didnt even know what a slab was. I assumed the low angle part was just leading into the real cllmb above. Then I got there and there were no holds. Was so insecure feeling. Can't even imagine a high grade slab. Was sweating watching this video more than any other.

I was in Arco a few weeks ago and climbed at the Spiaggia delle Lucertole, which has a similar climbing style (just a lot easier and rougher) and is situated directly over the lake Garda. That was so much fun :)
Did Adam already climb the Face and Kanal im Rücken in Altmühltal? They are the worlds first 8a+ and 8b and also very slippery and slaby.

Adam must come check out the Altmühltal! Recently a local made the first ascent ascent of the first 8b+ slab in the valley. Contrary to the route in the video it is super bouldery and cruxy. It would be incredible to see you try the route, maybe even onsight. It could be a cool challenge! This plus the super historic Face and Kanal should be enough reasons for a visit and there are more even harder routes ;)
Yeah, I am also waiting for him to discover Altmühltal :) But there ale also so many spots for him to go it might never happen... :)

Pardon me for the lack of knowledge, but how do you get down after you reach the top? You just fall slowly and 1 person lets go of the rope slowly? How does it work?

It's either a clickbait or misleading title. Adam Ondra without crux, hard holds and yoga stretching level movement that's not regular to see.
