Reynold Poernomo adalah peserta masterchef Australia yang berasal dari Indonesia yang juga merupakan adik dari juri masterchef Indonesia Arnold Poernomo.
Ia mengikuti ajang masterchef Australia season 12 edisi spesial yang bertajuk "back to win" yang berisi peserta-peserta top 12 dari season-season sebelumnya yang sudah sangat berpengalaman dan banyak yang telah membuka restorannya sendiri. Reynold sendiri sebelumnya merupakan peringkat 4 di season ke-7 yang setelahnya membuka dessert bar KOI di Sydney, Australia.

Reynold doesn't need a MasterChef title or trophy to prove himself. He's a legend, a genius and one of the greatest pastry chefs in the world.

It feels like he's experimenting rather than competing wow just wow
I feel like what he is trying to do. Is before he serve it to the customer. He let the judges try it first. To determine whether or not. Its worth to be put up on the menu for sell. Which is a smart thing. But also at the same time impress us all and inspiring us at the same time

I do usually think all these things are bit extra for food but if I ordered something named "Alice in Wonderland, Chapter 1, Down the rabbit hole" and see a beautiful garden in my table with a hidden Rabbit hole just appearing all of a sudden, I will tears.

People call him gifted. He doesn't have a gift. This man has what I call a magnificent obsession for cooking. This is the result of a lifelong pursuit for excellence, a relentless effort toward achieving that dream he saw as a kid, a never ending passion to be the best.

Season 7 he was lacking confidence and was unsure about himself and trying to find his place and now he has earned the respect of his peers, showing master level skill, imagination and creativity and has the confidence of a professional. Honestly he is the embodiment of Masterchef Australia whether he wins or loses

Andy really hit the nail on the head. Not just the ability to make the dessert, BUT TO THINK OF THE CONCEPT AND CREATE IT ALL in 75 minutes is what sets Reynold apart. I feel like if you went into his restaurant the day after giving him a very obscure, very specific theme for a dessert, he would already have an idea, fully formed, perfected, and balanced in both flavor and texture within 24 hours. And it ABSOLUTELY would be worth the wait.
I think he had the dessert already in his repertoire and had the chance to show it. Dont think he conceptualized the whole thing there
I would think he has a catalogue of deserts he knows how to cook really well, and that he has practices many times, which he can pull out when needed... None the less, he must be one of the best dessert cooks in the world!

@@ozvarifriliandi But, replicating a pro chef's dish is already difficult enough, so, i don't find it surprising that even Reynold can fail especially when it's a dessert. Think about how long it takes for the chef to come up with the idea, giving it shape, and perfecting it.
Let us be honest...Reynold is as good of a chef, if not a better one.
Every dish he's made is beautifully made, with so much detail and showmanship.

I love how the contestants AND judges almost revere Reynold as he works. When talking specifically about desserts, no one can touch him, not even close. I got so accustomed to judges scrutinizing the chefs while they’re cooking (Masterchef USA), and with Reynold, said judges just comment and look in awe. There’s levels to this, and Reynold is at the tippy top.

From all the all the insanely creative dishes he's created on these shows, this is the one that did it for me. It's beyond most artistic food creations in that it's dynamic, not static. Like, tastes amazing, looks exquisite...now tell the rest of the story by making it MOVE! Oh, and let's do this under the pressure of a tv show competition in an hour and 15 minutes. What?

Every time I've watched this, I just want to inquire to Reynold, "What planet did you come from?" This dude is such an artist, such a master, and at such a young age. Like... yeah, the judges coined it perfectly, he's just a Legend. Produces legendary competition level desserts, can cook savory dishes on levels similar to some of the best chefs in the world, and is likely hands down one of THE best dessert chefs in the world. I just don't understand how any person can be THAT good at what they do, it's just unheard of.
