Phew. Did this on the switch and it is NOT as easy as this. So many hours of changes I had to make and work around as doesn’t work in the same way as the video. Figured it out in the end, as I was determined as heck. So for those playing on the switch it’s possible, but a lot lot harder
I have the game both on PC and Switch and I could genuinely not even try on Switch, it makes me frustrated. 😂😂😂 So I only do chill activities like gathering and Quests on Switch, while doing builds on PC. My patience could never!!! Well done tho 😊
I'm also on Switch. How'd you do it? I can't even place it past my plot :(
@@smartypants3344 it's easiest on Switch if you place one floor piece on your plot and connect out towards the dock from there. It's difficult to move and place all the pieces at once. So I build as I go when building out of bounds. I've made a massive pool area over my pond that connects to a big 3 story tree house near my entrance. All built as I went. Good luck!

@@francesca6301 I did it!! Took a day and a half I think lol. Just like you said, it works best with a piece on the ground then attach the actual structure to it. The only way I could get it done properly was that I finish the whole project on my plot and then attach it to that ground piece. Thanks for your tips

how did u put it near the water? im playing on pc.. mine says "you don't own this land yet".. but i bought it all

You need to own all land :)
You need to purchase every single square of the land first. Then it will work ❤
I followed how you built it but whenever I try to drag it, it won't let me drag all. The pillar remains and there is a gap between the pillar and floor. I'm getting frustrated.
I'm having the same issue :/ I don't know what to do anymore. I tried everything t-t
For everyone struggling with the pillars like me!!!: when you go to pick up the dock, press Alt. while doing it. For me, the pillar will automatically attach to it as long as you put the pillar as close as possible to the dock when you pick it up pressing Alt. So if you’re following the video step by step, just be sure to press Alt and that pillar issue shouldn’t happen! PS: I had to do it on PC vs my Switch because you don’t have the same building abilities as PC.

Thank you. ^^ I have mentioned this in my video and also in one of the comments. Have pillars as close as possible and select ''ALL'' by pressing Alt yes. ^^ I hope it works for everyone on PC at least!

I didn't even know this was possible with Palia. I think I need to experiment with the game a little more.
Hehe yeah there is so much I have to discover myself!! I feel like a newbie. But it is so worth it, because it gives you so much more options.
Yeah, im having issues on switch to snap the posts into place, they keep wanting to plant themselves into the ground as opposed to adhering to the wood flooring. Strange, considering non of the other building blocks limit placing something undernieth, with posts it seems to only allow you to build up

Hi, thank you for an amazing video. I have a problem with posts, they do not come with the whole thing and just stay where i built it. I tried to add you to friends but it cannot find you ( If it is not too much trouble can you visit my plot and see what's wrong? Hey, my name ingame is now ''ellyonart'' I will be ingame next week. However as someone mentioned in the comments, this trick will work on PC, not sure about switch. And you have to select the base + posts all at once by pressing ''ALT''. Also make sure your posts are as close as possible to the base in order for them to attach. ❤❤

You have tu build it without the grid. And then go as close as possible to the floor. If you put it just tiny bit further, it won't ''stick''.

Does tge pillars have to be floating?
I mean, if someone finds a way of how to not make them float, I'd use the technique too!!! This was the only way I managed to make them look like they're built in the water.

Make sure some of the build is still on plot
I tried doing this tonight, and it keeps telling me "You don't own this land yet" - Even though i have it placed the same place their's is, and i own all the plots
