Naturally; things like turbo boost, and the incredible molecular bonded shell that makes the car nearly indestructible is going to be a bit out of reach for a while. My favourite was when kitt would drive into the back of the tractor trailer, barely would fit in, almost knick the side mirrors. Once inside, throw the doors wide open with room to walk around lol
The great thing about the show, was that the choice of the car was very crucial. Glen Larson specifically wanted the new Firebird as KITT, because he thought it was the only potentially availalbe car that would do the justice to a futuristic car, with it's design and aerodynamics. Even though, the car was quite heavily modified, the nose is much sharper than in standard Trans Am, and it looks like it was meant to break through walls, like KITT in the show did.

My favourite anecdote about Knight Rider: on three episodes, Catherine Hickland played the main character's love interest. She was also married to David Hasselhoff at the time. They divorced, and she ended up getting married to another actor - named Michael Knight. Absolutely priceless.
I remember seeing the show. Was mind blown. When my Dad was off he would sit n watch it with me. I one day was asked if I could do one thing what would it be? I said I want to see knight rider. So that summer I went to Universal and sat in the car n talk to kitt. 50yrs old now I still love the car. I seen the car at a car show. In 2018. Sat in it agine. 😊
One of the timeless shows. Awesome in every area; casting, music, acting, scripts, etc. And yes, the car. Everything.
“Looks like Darth Vader’s bathroom”, my favourite line😂
My favourite was when kitt would drive into the back of the tractor trailer, barely would fit in, almost knick the side mirrors. Once inside, throw the doors wide open with room to walk around lol
Right..? :D
Time Lord tech. Bigger on the inside! lol 😆
🤣🤣
Should have installed a sunroof. lol
Rumor has it they accomplished this by simply laying a Tardis on its side on a flatbed truck.
The introduction of Kitt is one of the most iconic scenes to have ever appeared on a TV screen !
Still, even in 2019, the Trans Am is the most bad ass car ever designed by Pontiac.
The designers at GM ("General Motors") designed the Firebird Trans Am (shown here) for the Pontiac division of GM (Pontiac no longer exists).
Totally agree
The great thing about the show, was that the choice of the car was very crucial. Glen Larson specifically wanted the new Firebird as KITT, because he thought it was the only potentially availalbe car that would do the justice to a futuristic car, with it's design and aerodynamics. Even though, the car was quite heavily modified, the nose is much sharper than in standard Trans Am, and it looks like it was meant to break through walls, like KITT in the show did.
Rob M And what the fuck would you know? You probably think Herbie the Beetle was fuckin’ beautiful.
And they made K.I.T.T. a mustang

Ahmad Bilal, no. I tried re watching some episodes, but couldn't. The story was too stupid
I watched some episodes recently, and they were horrible. The concept remains great, but the execution ... not so much.
@@agallagher5936 thats not what he was talking about.
The first season was darker, more somber, had more orchestral music and seems less dated than the later episodes in some respects. The performances and dialogue in scenes like this were impactful and well-done. A lot of the 80s cheesiness the show became known for was absent.
Knight Rider! Sunday nite at 8pm those were the days of great tv! I remember Friday nites was a-team at 8pm, then 10pm Miami Vice, Memories memories!
I thought KR was on Friday nights?

When that music kicks in..gets me everytime
Best car song ever
I've been saying for years that this series could have been an incredible full-length theatrical movie, a classic
Love the comment "It was showing off for you".
"KNIGHT RIDER, a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man, who does not exist. Michael Knight, a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause to the innocent, the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law."
One man can make a difference Michael
"Michael Knight, a lone crusader in a dangerous world, the world of the KNIGHT RIDER."
Exactly
And so David Hasselhoff role on The Young and the Restless as snap a Carr came to an end he went back to the cast and told him he won the role and the audition updated night and they all wish him good luck and his new career it's night time TV a lot of famous people came off The Young and the Restless and went on to bigger and better things
Even just reading this gives me goosebumps...... Now I'll have to go find the intro 😁
Michael's first encounter with KITT is so cool and so mysterious. He didn't look scared.
Agreed ♥️🖤
Treasure of the past shows like this in my elementary days are priceless
0:25 such a goosebump moment!!!
The sweeping LED was quite futuristic.
Sounded like like one too,in the very beginning of the scene
@Some One. Well the red led was invented in 1962, so it very well could be, and probably was. All the lights that lit up the dashboard Were led.
They took the idea from their own Sylons from Battle star Glatica.
@@aarongreenfield9038 Those were 50watt halogen bulbs in the scanner, only the new KITT (Mustang) had LEDs there.
@@hitmiccs. Ahh ok gotcha, I wasn't sure.

Welcome aboard the Knight two thousand. Still gives me goosebumps.
Is it me or did this scene go by incredibly fast? It had my complete attention like I was watching it for the first time.

dude! for a moment I forgot I was watching youtube rather than the actual episode until it suddenly stopped T_T. Such a great show!
I really love Jon Ward's exterior design of KITT.
Rewatching this series provides such great memories of my teenage years!
love the music as it comes on while driving. the music is perfect for the series as is the theme song.
Shame they changed Stu Philips for Don Peake. Stu Philips was the guy who made all the orginal scores from the season one, and those are excellent works that are pleasant and interesting to listen on their own. You don't need to remember the plot, just play eg. Stu Philips "Airport chase" and you can tell a story with many twists.
Sadly, many DVD releases of older series change the music because of pesky distribution rights.
This show is way way ahead of its time. And now in 2024, most of it showed in this knight rider has become real!
M.I.T.T.
Knight Rider was definitely Hasselhoff's best work. He did such a great job of bringing the character of Michael Knight to life. For such a cheesy show, he and KITT were still so awesome together, the show could have been REALLY BAD, but it wasnt, because of them
I LOVED this show as a kid. Good times.
this show makes my childhood a pleasant time to remember and recollect...
Every single time. Years n years later. Still a huge smile and shivers down my spine.
Wishing I could once again watch all full episodes! I love you Michael Knight!😍

s Don’t get your panties in a wad, dipstick. Most of us grew up watching it through the early 80’s.
you forgot the A-team.
Technically Battlestar Galactica is from the 70s.
The best part of Battlestar Galactica was Laurette Spang as Cassiopeia. I had a major crush on her.

The "movie" (or the pilot and the second episode) was fantastic. A great film that stands up on its own even today.
Loved it!
I was only a child, but they were the periods higher of my life and particularly I loved when I began to watch the first episode.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
How did they make such brilliant TV shows back then? And now.....well the less said the better.
Yeah the ‘80’s were positively prehistoric
Because today's tv story tellers have no brains
@@chrisedgar5474 it's true. Today's society reminds me of HG Wells book the time machine. Technology evolves to the point that people rely on it. To the point that it strips them of creative, and self supportive functions.
@@VitoVeccia Actually that is a great quote; an an 80's kid I have a far better ability to memorise things than kids today. There was no internet. So you had to remember stuff.

My #1 show of all time!! Still watching at age 43!!!
That pilot is probably the coolest thing out here.
I miss the 80s so much what a much better time to live
Gotta disagree - I like the luxury we have in current times. You couldn't watch any show you wanted from the 80s back then, just what aired right then. Now you can watch any or all, in any language they ever got uploaded, all episodes, specials and movies, everything.

Today's shows just put plastic-y CGI everywhere
Today the usp of these shows are real stunts. But some like Knight Rider have great writing, editing and super sound effects And timeless Theme music.
