Some tips for those of you Freelancers out there: - Play your first life like it's your only life. RNGesus may have not looked favorably upon you and gave you the burden of blueberries who play like it's clash - Don't feel bad about using your blueberries as bait. You might as well make something out of the lives they are wasting - Scoop up the green, and make sure it gets used by you so it can't be used against you. Special weapons exist, and the more you can take them out of play, the more likely you will win - Be prepared for meta. Playing against meta is beneficial in the sense that due to so much exposure, its limits are well known if you take the time to learn it. You can use those limits in your favor - Be prepared to lose. Even the best of us can't handle a 4v1 or a 3v1. The enemy team would have to screw up really bad to lose in such an advantage. - If you think you found good teammates, don't be shy to ask them if they want to party up. For all you know, you might have good team synergy, and none of you know it yet. Playing solo is always going to be stressful, typically because there isn't much you can do to support your team and most of the match is out of your hands. But if you make the effort to get a team, it is always going to be a far superior experience than just running solo. Just remember to take breaks and clear your mind. And remember, the game is so full of BS in the current state, it's not worth throwing a fuss over it. Good luck people.
You forgot to put in: Don't stand in front of your teammates when they're sniping down a lane, otherwise you'll both die to a grenade that could've been prevented a second beforehand
@@ItsSoloh Man... I would really hope that I would never have to give anyone that advice. Just in general, no one should ever walk in front of their teammates' line of fire. For all you know, you blocked the one last shot they needed to land for a kill before the opponent ran behind cover. In general, being aware of not only your opponents' position but also the position of your allies is essential. While blue on blue incidents aren't really a thing in Destiny, it can still really screw people over. Also, don't be that guy that tries to push and fight over lanes. Find a different one or work on flanking.
i like freelance , because i can play like i usually do , just doing my best, doesnt have to "communicate" i rather adapt to whats going on than hearing people screaming callout in my ears edit : and to be honest, i enjoy it more than having a premade because for one, no potential toxic chatting once we loose , and i just able to play better because im 100% focus on my performance
I dont understand the whole "those guys were sweats" excuse from people, like are they making fun of them for being sweat or are they just not sweating themselves so when they do fight there just annoyed?

Me and my team just give up because there are so many obvious cheaters here in Asia. We would leave the game, wait for a while before going in again, and hopefully we wouldn't run into the same cheaters again. And again, those are the cases with blatant obvious ammo hack and wall-penetrating headshot from spawn point, there are even more times when we ran into people with ban record on steam profile and asked, "are they cheating or are they really so good just after less than 100 hours?".
I mean Pure never once said that the guy was definitely cheating. He said things along the lines of "he may be cheating, I'm not sure" and "that's the sus guy, be careful." Perfectly legitimate things to say. The guy was hitting crazy snipes and Pure said his steam profile was full of people saying he was cheating. All Cam said was "No, he's probably not. There are people that are insanely good with snipers. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt"

@@siverblack2593 From my understanding, it means that Drewsky had a pulse rifle, and therefore longer range than the handcannons that were utilized by Cammy and the enemy team. So when Drewsky calls "Play my range" he is saying that Cammy should back up, since he is in a better position. Hope this made sense.

@@itswaters8970 everyone has their own playstylesl. Someone who gets 2 snipes during whole match maybe can easily get 15+ kills with a shotgun or a bow+HC combo. Snipers are easy to use due to flinch+aim assist but if a player cant use it then it doesnt mean he's trash
They should make it so you can’t emote in comp or trials playlists and if you use a sword you can’t switch to it to third person until you have heavy ammo for it
I'd be fine if hitting emote in comp or trials just posted your note into the feed because usually no one but teamates get to see it. Another option is while in third person without sword ammo, or with an emote hides the other players from your view unless they're interacting.
Emotes are part of the game. Everyone can do it. And if someone is busy sword peaking with no ammo or emoting then it gives you an advantage to push and they wont be ready. If they were just aiming down sights at the choke point that you are about to push then they'd be ready for you where as they arent when emoting. I think its the opposite, I dont mind if you wanna waiste time emoting trying to see me go ahead I'm to busy focusing on the kill. This peal thing is an excuse for bad play or losses someone cant explain.
@Scrota, Sack of Oryx with your logic every fps game should have 3 peaking because of snipers . I had games in trails that the other team was 3 peaking the whole round so they can get supers and it took 4 ever 2 finish the game
Everyone has to remember that, for you to win, someone else has to lose. Everyone else is in the same boat as you. Everyone will lose. Nobody ever just wins. Try your best because everyone else is.
Honestly, I really understand this tip. Just last season, I got Not Forgotten with only a few days left in the season. And while I'm nowhere near the top players in terms of skill, I have noticed significant growth from where I started. Now, did I hate fighting against meta people constantly? Absolutely. Could I have had less trouble if I ran meta too? Sure. But at the end of the day, I got the damn gun and I know I'm a better player because of it.
it was fun to watch :D the way they were sometimes baiting and switching, one goes back, after taking a shot or 2 and then the other comes in for the clean, they were good, really good coordinated.. it was nice seeing the plays against a strong team, brings out the entertainment and can learn on how to get better a bit..

Sniper targeting + twilight oath with opening shot, and a targeting adjuster is probably the most disgusting thing I've ever used, it hands out headshots like candy
because PC players are renown for having great aim and hitting crispy headshots all the time. The cheater epidemic has made everyone paranoid anytime someone is good at the game. I don't blame them though? You never know if someone is cheating but making it subtle. It's kinda like the covid-19 situation, you can't possibly know who has it so you gotta stay protected anyways

Maduxx Oney bullshit, even if you are 0 but see someone using 2 green weapons and having ammo all the time, when they shoot at you 3-4 times right after they respawn - it’s legit to say it’s a cheater. And there are lots of this guys even in quicks now since the cheats are so easy to acquire and use.
Maduxx Oney that’s not true. As a 5500 player, I’ve been matched with plenty of people with much lower glory. Works both ways. There can be cheaters in any game.
Hot take: With so much aim assist, sniper rifles are way, way more broken then shotguns could ever be, because with shotguns you have to get close enough to delete people, and with sniper rifles, you can murder people across the map with minimal counterplay.
Oh my god, I'm a AU player, and I kept getting matched with this one guy who would 3rd person peek EVERY corner... every 15 seconds it was "**** is dancing" that alone is just... it's there for info and that's some useless stuff right there
What if emoting in a match pinged your exact location on the radar, or a giant hot pink circle formed around your guardian during an emote, giving your position away around corners. Getting a kill (assist or final blow) would disable this ping or ring for three to five seconds. It would add a significant downside to 3peaking, while still allowing for some poking of fun during matches. It would probably be a simpler fix than simply removing emotes entirely.
Hey Cammy, Just gotta say your gameplay is always on point, but even more so; your mindset and approach to the game is what keeps me coming back. With the state of the game, the way it is, I can see why others are so quick to assume an opponent is cheating. But hey, is someone’s shot is on point, you can’t help that. I just like how you focus on the things you can control, rather than those you can’t. Others are just so quick to throw in the towel and assume cheating rather than adapting. Great games. The ungodly aim assist on Beloved makes it seem like everyone has aimbot. You could probably use an aimbot and Beloved at the same time and I wouldn't suspect a thing because of how easy it is to use
I do agree that beloved has alot of aim assist. But I do think the major reason is because of its scope. Its HUGE and suuuuper clean. Other snipers have little details and shit inside of the scope which can be irritating.
I need to take this out of my chest. I just had one of the greatest and most intense freelance matches in comp I've ever had. It was so crazy that we had multiple match points and a draw on the 3-3 score making us have another round. We had one guy from each team leave before the match started making this a 2v2, and none of us were using degenerate loadouts, aside from a Mountaintop and a Hardlight from two different guys. Me, a top tree Dawnblade, with a top tree Stormcaller. The other team was a middle tree Nightstalker, and a top tree Sunbreaker. So the whole game we are going crazy having duels, outplaying each other, taking advantage of our supers. And then we got to the aforementioned 3-3 draw. I could have won it at that moment. I had Chaperone, I manage to head shot-melee combo the hunter who had gone into his super. My teammate got killed by the titan on the heavy ammo spawn, and I saw the titan coming, I had my shot and and even then when i did not get the crit, I still managed to melee the guy but no, he had the normal shotgun and when I saw my melee connect, a half second later I'm dead by normal pellet spread. Next round we go as crazy as before but by then it was probably over. What can two warlocks with no super do to a hunter with smokes and dodge spamming, and a titan who now had a super ready to burn. We do our best, my teammate dies, I'm on my own, and i just accept my fate. When the score board show up I'm just really glad I had such a fun match where everyone had some sense of honor. but at the same time I'm frustrated. For the past two weeks, I've been trying to get to legend on comp and for the past four days i have been stuck at Fabled III. At one point I made it to Mythic, I was getting consistent wins with a few loses here and there, but now? Now I'm just loosing. Doesn't matter that I have been getting a lot better at the game Doesn't matter if I get into fair fights that I know I can win and do win most of the time. Doesn't even matter if I use a loadout that I'm really good with or if I use the meta. I manage to win one game through the skin of my teeth, and then I get stomped on the next two, and I'm just getting tired. I try to take breaks when it's too much, but every time i get back in it;s more of the same crap. So please. Someone tell me, what the hell am I doing wrong, and don't tell me to get my friends, or to go to the forums, because I have tried already and it almost never works out. I have been playing Destiny since Taken King and not a single time a have I managed to reach Legend since D2 launched.
My experience with my very first few survival matches. I thought it was like elimination but the team with more alive members win. I thought it was like elimination because whenever i died, i got knocked out because my teammates wasted 4 lives before i died..... It wasnt until i looked up on internet how this mide works and what these " lives" on top of screen mean. Tldr : your teammates will either carry or completely fuck up the match. No inbetween
So I have not played destiny 2 in months BUT I have to say that I really loved playing PvP and keeping calm and making sure I adjusted my play style really help me have fun even in comp.
I wish I had these tips a few days ago. Just about 2 hours ago I got the unbroken seal after playing comp for 3 days straight. I started playing this game when it went F2P and I honestly never thought I'd ever get to this point. Theres way too much cheese in this game to make me want to care about playing comp ever again, but at least the worst of it is over.
I know it has nothing to do with the video but with the Trinity Ghoul catalyst you can get lighting rod just by getting a kill with the weapon doesn't need to be an ability or headshot, just a kill.
Cammy! I play on console and I consider myself to be maybe above average at it, I like to snipe but sometimes I may need to switch to a shotty, however, I am used to 4 sensitivity which for mid to long range is great, but i suffer in the close range aspect, should i try and learn to play on higher sensitivities? what do y'all usually use on controller? i want to get better but i feel limited by my low sensitivity , how are you guys able to play higher sensitivities and still keep on target? Not Cammy but as someone who plays on 10 sense I cannot stress the advantage learning to play on high sense gives you, especially in a close quarters fight. Lower sense is good to support a snipe centric build but if you can learn to snipe on 9-10 sense then it just opens up so many more options to you, especially for dealing with shotgun pushers or for flicking on to multiple targets. I must say that I play on PC, so I was sort of forced to learn to play that high to stay competitive with mnk players who can turn 180 in a fraction of a second, at least while using a controller, but on console having that kind of reaction time can only be more useful.

This video actually kinda helped me. I finally grew a pair and grinder out Mountaintop, and I just played comp and now I’m waiting for Momentum Control to get the double kills. I actually now feel like I am improving at the game by focusing on me, not the match.
In the freelance playlist people quitting teams is sooooo often, times where I we get 3 - 0 but then 1 guy leaves and we lose, or we're already on the losing side and 1 guy leaves giving us literally no chance. Same thing for the other team too, had games where we were losing badly but 1 guy on the other team left and we got a win
Destiny 2 is a game, a form of entertainment: every match I play I ask myself this question, “did I have fun?”, unfortunately, I find myself not having fun the majority of the time. The goal of pvp in destiny is not to improve, it is to have fun; even though there will be a winning team and a losing one, no body should feel like they are being stripped of their happiness.
i just used hh supernova when it was busted to get to 5500 in freelance. after that i just used whatever i wanted, played survival all day, and just naturally learned how to counter-play my loadout’s counters
Everytime I lose, I go to a rumble match and just stay there, readying and stowing my last word for a minute because you do a cool spin with it, then kill everyone.
hot tip: if you do quit you, you will have a more stress free life. i did it months ago after reaching legend once, never again, wasn't even worth the stress and frustration.
adding in that you need to hip fire more and adding little notes in the video was helpful thats why i take your tips the most you give very helpful tips instead of excuses
Been playing comp for few hours today. 90% of the games is a complete sweatfeast. Specially compare to the casual playlist, without SBMM i personally having a lot of fun right now.
i thought something was wrong with the audio in this video, like the directions seemed off, but turns out my headset was just on backwards. Wish i was this good at pvp, but I can't even put my headset on right...
It is something everyone can use, also if no one used it then it would be the same, you know the other player is sniping and you are sniping so none of you move and wait for eachother to make the first move. The problem is there isnt an insentive to make the first move. Runing towards the target who snipes with felwinters lie isnt that secure in survival

After moving over from console last year with cross save, some days I feel like I've improved or become used with mnk and then on random days I get slapped to the point of thinking I'm still a potato, will be keeping at it until I become better with your tips tho cammy 💪
3rd person peeking is fine imo if youre using a sword since youre giving up a weapon slot ( if you dont use black talon ), they should just get rid of emotes in comp
you are not giving up a slot if there is no ammo for it, that's dumb. if your equipment was locked, then maybe it would be worth considering, but being able to switch at any point makes it free information
Just a heads up icky is an old friend their team is illuminate plays with cubers and another guy called Yung. They're 13-18 year olds and a couple are known for cheating (made new accounts when banned) they are solid players, but something's off about the two previously convicted of cheating (icky and purified is legit, rest no). I've scrimmed and beat them, but after its impossible to win when it seems they all of a sudden activate toggle.
I completely agree but sometimes the games are just so one sided that it’s hard to keep the motivation to keep going like for example going against a team with mountain top/ shoulder chargers
i got not forgotten solo and mida catalyst all in the freelance playlist it took a week but i guess my only tip is dont give up, try to set goals for a day like get to mythic 1 one day and get to mythic 2 other, it worked for me i still have to go to legend two times and i plan to go on freelance since my friends dont pvp lol, good luck out there guardians
I honestly completely agree with all you said. I just came back from a long break from d2 in general like 2 or 3 seasons of time. Trying to shake the rust off in pvp by playing comp but its just discouraging when all im told is "you're shit" when im trying to relearn.
It's true Guardians, I'm a terrible sniper. One day, during Trials, my buddy was like, "Wish we had a sniper on our team". So, I pulled out revoker and painfully started practicing. The first week was tough, negative KDs. Second week much better, improved KD. Third week, decent sniping, positive kid at least 1.0+ Fourth week, Much better sniper, further improved KD. Fifith week, Good Sniping, referenced walls and objects to align heads, snap sniping. Sixth week, SBMM puts me with upper tier players, my sniping is now good enough to stop above average players on the spot. Now, I'm exploring no scope super snipes to deal with those up and close Supers. Practice, no matter how bad your games are, just keep pushing, one snipe turns to two and so forth, next thing you know, you log in, play Clash, the Sniper feels so smooth and natural in your hand, you've done this dozens of times, but today feels different...you finish the match with a 5.0 kd, get hate mail on chesting accusations. It's the best, if I can do it, you can do it.
I debated going back into comp this season after attaining unbroken last season. Then i realized i wouldnt have gotten to the skill I have if it werent for comp. So my next challenge is to get my friend to 3500.
I'm now starting to agree that snipers are really oppressive which is why I'm now leaning more towards gls. Also cammy, could you make a Warlock and Hunter builds video like you did for titan a couple seasons back. I'm trying to get into them but I dont think 7 hours a day while trying to use their utility and my stupid builds is enough. I would just like a couple beginner videos to help expand skillsets for people like me. Love ya man, keep up the great work.
Honestly, the amount of times Ive been called a cheater since the hackers invaded. Just because we kept playing and learning to adapt to these 'god-like' players our skills gone even further beyond. It's like finally going to Universe 6 to fight cheaters (ahem Freeza) and levelling up to the next level of Saiyan.
Rework swords so that unless you're swinging they remain first person and flip the camera around to face you on emotes. Make emotes play the full animation and make persistent ones toggled, turn them on and off with the same button.
Like going into a steam profile to check if they are cheaters and finding a bunch of comments saying they are cheaters isn't suspect at all actually. People are so quick to call others cheaters in this game. I think the fact that his profile is even visible shows he's not cheating. Most cheaters private their profiles.
personally i find comp to be the best gamemode. its not as inconsistent as the core gamemodes, but its not as sweaty as trials. it lets me be sweaty without much at stake

I literally hate sniper rifles. SO annoying to play against and they’re not as hard to use as everyone thinks. You hold down a lane and even if you body shot, that is SO much pressure. And the fact that revoker exists is infuriating. And getting sniped while flinching someone is so annoying, there’s no counterplay to snipers except, another sniper or luck. They need to look at snipers in terms of balance.
Honestly what should happen is in pve the emotes and third person mechanics should stay but in pvp they should be disabled (like swords) and emotes should be replaced with certain callouts or markers for team communication. In gambit it could switch when invading/being invaded
Because those are important. “He’s weak!” = “if you push him now, you will have health advantage in the gun fight” or “I’m reloading” = “I’m unavailable to take shots for the next x seconds, so you know what kind of support you have when you engage”. In actuality, those are some of the BEST call outs. Those have won my team games.
With the differences in levels this season between free to play and payed season players, I felt overwhelmed and fell into a big discouragement play time, nevertheless I didn't quit and I'm on the grind to get good at the game without paying for the power boost
Last season was blah for me in comp but i got not forgotten. I'm above average but playing against high skill players was some how enjoyable for me! I have improved in my skill as a player. I did it all solo as well!
The shotgun consistency is was insane that game, aside from that one oof. Also uhm it's beloved, you get free headshots if you manage to click anywhere near a head most of the time, combine that with someone who's actually good at sniping and you get a lot of sniper bullets in peoples heads
But Cammy, you 3peeked all the time in D1 and even in D2 before trials came back. You even considered it a high level strategy. Why did it suddenly become toxic overnight? Note: I am not defending 3peeking, I understand why people dislike such slow gameplay. But it has always been this way, and only recently have people been calling it out as toxic instead of a smart play. Also, if that and snipers are the worst you have to put up with in PvP consider yourself lucky. Console still has to deal with Suros + Felwinter.
There is a big difference between using 3rd person aggressively (like in cammy's sword blink video) to the shit we currently see that slows down the pace of the game to a crawl. it's just not fun
To me, it sounds like he considers it a top-level strategy, but just realizes that it makes the game less fun. Since he’s playing at the top level, using top-level strategies is all but necessary to win
There should be rumble competitive and award points to players in the top 3. Bottom 3 just gain no points, but all get rewards for playing (with top 3 players acquiring more rewards). This way the game mode doesn't demoralize players for losing points, but rather be playing in general.
What if when you used an emote you couldn't cancel the animation in pvp? I would say leave the sword peak in as you are actively giving up your heavy? Thoughts?
The reason for that is the rediculous mm algorythm in comp. Basically you are punished for playing your heart and doing well. If you finish top of your in one game. Expect in the next match to be handicapped by given two potato team mates with no thumbs. If you win a game you are expected to carry potatos. No one likes this system the top tier players dont like it the avarage dont like it.

I'm gonna be honest, I hate playing against played like his because I feel like I can't play the game but Holy shit you have to give to them they are sooo good. Well done cammycakes
People need to learn to literally stop dying. "Like a line of thralls" is the most apt description for most blueberries I meet in fabled (And a fair bit in mythic too). The amount of times people challenge the same lane after getting domed is silly. If you can't win your ones, that's fine, learn to disengage and regroup with your team. It is so tiring to realize one teammate has burned your entire pool of lives before you've even died once. Another mistake I notice a LOT in a lot of lower level games is people will literally hold their supers for more than 3 rounds. It's one thing if its a cancel super, but so many players hold super when they could be making orbs for their team and charging their second/third super. And finally, is learn to recognize when you are tilted. If you are losing more than 3 games in a row, and you're not consistently topping the endgame scoreboards regardless, maybe take a break and try again either in a couple hours or even days
Also, stop wasting supers/time trying to win a round when you're last alive and they have lives. You don't need to kill 3 opponents, you need to kill 3 + however many lives they have left. And they will be building super the entire time too, for the next round.
This is just a random question, a year or so ago snipers were considered useless compared to shotguns, everyone used a shotgun and snipes were a rare sight, now it seems like snipes are considered to be broken and op when i cant think of what could have possibly changed between shotty meta and now, ive been using snipes my whole time in d2 and they feel the same as they did back then, and its the same maps for the most part, so whats so different now? (Excluding revoker)
It’s because they made a couple changes to targeting and aim assist for most guns and the perks on them. Also, more people have got used to sniping and never miss.

Me and my team just give up because there are so many obvious cheaters here in Asia.
We would leave the game, wait for a while before going in again, and hopefully we wouldn't run into the same cheaters again.
And again, those are the cases with blatant obvious ammo hack and wall-penetrating headshot from spawn point, there are even more times
when we ran into people with ban record on steam profile and asked, "are they cheating or are they really so good just after less than 100 hours?".

I mean Pure never once said that the guy was definitely cheating. He said things along the lines of "he may be cheating, I'm not sure" and "that's the sus guy, be careful." Perfectly legitimate things to say. The guy was hitting crazy snipes and Pure said his steam profile was full of people saying he was cheating. All Cam said was "No, he's probably not. There are people that are insanely good with snipers. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt"

@@siverblack2593 From my understanding, it means that Drewsky had a pulse rifle, and therefore longer range than the handcannons that were utilized by Cammy and the enemy team. So when Drewsky calls "Play my range" he is saying that Cammy should back up, since he is in a better position.

@@itswaters8970 everyone has their own playstylesl. Someone who gets 2 snipes during whole match maybe can easily get 15+ kills with a shotgun or a bow+HC combo.
Snipers are easy to use due to flinch+aim assist but if a player cant use it then it doesnt mean he's trash
They should make it so you can’t emote in comp or trials playlists and if you use a sword you can’t switch to it to third person until you have heavy ammo for it
I'd be fine if hitting emote in comp or trials just posted your note into the feed because usually no one but teamates get to see it.
Another option is while in third person without sword ammo, or with an emote hides the other players from your view unless they're interacting.
Also just get a better ranking system because it's all over the place and you will frequently see heavily one sided matches
Emotes are part of the game. Everyone can do it. And if someone is busy sword peaking with no ammo or emoting then it gives you an advantage to push and they wont be ready. If they were just aiming down sights at the choke point that you are about to push then they'd be ready for you where as they arent when emoting. I think its the opposite, I dont mind if you wanna waiste time emoting trying to see me go ahead I'm to busy focusing on the kill. This peal thing is an excuse for bad play or losses someone cant explain.

Honestly, I really understand this tip. Just last season, I got Not Forgotten with only a few days left in the season. And while I'm nowhere near the top players in terms of skill, I have noticed significant growth from where I started. Now, did I hate fighting against meta people constantly? Absolutely. Could I have had less trouble if I ran meta too? Sure. But at the end of the day, I got the damn gun and I know I'm a better player because of it.

Hot take: With so much aim assist, sniper rifles are way, way more broken then shotguns could ever be, because with shotguns you have to get close enough to delete people, and with sniper rifles, you can murder people across the map with minimal counterplay.

Oh my god, I'm a AU player, and I kept getting matched with this one guy who would 3rd person peek EVERY corner... every 15 seconds it was "**** is dancing" that alone is just... it's there for info and that's some useless stuff right there

What if emoting in a match pinged your exact location on the radar, or a giant hot pink circle formed around your guardian during an emote, giving your position away around corners. Getting a kill (assist or final blow) would disable this ping or ring for three to five seconds. It would add a significant downside to 3peaking, while still allowing for some poking of fun during matches. It would probably be a simpler fix than simply removing emotes entirely.

The ungodly aim assist on Beloved makes it seem like everyone has aimbot. You could probably use an aimbot and Beloved at the same time and I wouldn't suspect a thing because of how easy it is to use
I do agree that beloved has alot of aim assist. But I do think the major reason is because of its scope. Its HUGE and suuuuper clean. Other snipers have little details and shit inside of the scope which can be irritating.

I need to take this out of my chest. I just had one of the greatest and most intense freelance matches in comp I've ever had. It was so crazy that we had multiple match points and a draw on the 3-3 score making us have another round. We had one guy from each team leave before the match started making this a 2v2, and none of us were using degenerate loadouts, aside from a Mountaintop and a Hardlight from two different guys.
Me, a top tree Dawnblade, with a top tree Stormcaller. The other team was a middle tree Nightstalker, and a top tree Sunbreaker. So the whole game we are going crazy having duels, outplaying each other, taking advantage of our supers. And then we got to the aforementioned 3-3 draw.
I could have won it at that moment. I had Chaperone, I manage to head shot-melee combo the hunter who had gone into his super. My teammate got killed by the titan on the heavy ammo spawn, and I saw the titan coming, I had my shot and and even then when i did not get the crit, I still managed to melee the guy but no, he had the normal shotgun and when I saw my melee connect, a half second later I'm dead by normal pellet spread. Next round we go as crazy as before but by then it was probably over. What can two warlocks with no super do to a hunter with smokes and dodge spamming, and a titan who now had a super ready to burn. We do our best, my teammate dies, I'm on my own, and i just accept my fate.
When the score board show up I'm just really glad I had such a fun match where everyone had some sense of honor. but at the same time I'm frustrated. For the past two weeks, I've been trying to get to legend on comp and for the past four days i have been stuck at Fabled III. At one point I made it to Mythic, I was getting consistent wins with a few loses here and there, but now? Now I'm just loosing. Doesn't matter that I have been getting a lot better at the game Doesn't matter if I get into fair fights that I know I can win and do win most of the time. Doesn't even matter if I use a loadout that I'm really good with or if I use the meta. I manage to win one game through the skin of my teeth, and then I get stomped on the next two, and I'm just getting tired. I try to take breaks when it's too much, but every time i get back in it;s more of the same crap.
So please. Someone tell me, what the hell am I doing wrong, and don't tell me to get my friends, or to go to the forums, because I have tried already and it almost never works out. I have been playing Destiny since Taken King and not a single time a have I managed to reach Legend since D2 launched.
I have a 1 sentence guide on how to be sucessful in comp : "Hope your allies don't push solo and waste lives"
Nah it's more like "learn how to 1v3 on limited lives because your teammates WILL waste them"
If your allies push in, you should be ready to take advantage of the fact that they're distracting and damaging the enemy.
My experience with my very first few survival matches. I thought it was like elimination but the team with more alive members win. I thought it was like elimination because whenever i died, i got knocked out because my teammates wasted 4 lives before i died..... It wasnt until i looked up on internet how this mide works and what these " lives" on top of screen mean.
Tldr : your teammates will either carry or completely fuck up the match. No inbetween
So I have not played destiny 2 in months BUT I have to say that I really loved playing PvP and keeping calm and making sure I adjusted my play style really help me have fun even in comp.
Best solution: once you emote you can't stop until the animation is over. If it's infinite, guess you're stuck buddy xD

I wish I had these tips a few days ago. Just about 2 hours ago I got the unbroken seal after playing comp for 3 days straight. I started playing this game when it went F2P and I honestly never thought I'd ever get to this point. Theres way too much cheese in this game to make me want to care about playing comp ever again, but at least the worst of it is over.
I know it has nothing to do with the video but with the Trinity Ghoul catalyst you can get lighting rod just by getting a kill with the weapon doesn't need to be an ability or headshot, just a kill.

I play on console and I consider myself to be maybe above average at it, I like to snipe but sometimes I may need to switch to a shotty, however, I am used to 4 sensitivity which for mid to long range is great, but i suffer in the close range aspect, should i try and learn to play on higher sensitivities? what do y'all usually use on controller? i want to get better but i feel limited by my low sensitivity , how are you guys able to play higher sensitivities and still keep on target? And thanks for the vid!
Not Cammy but as someone who plays on 10 sense I cannot stress the advantage learning to play on high sense gives you, especially in a close quarters fight. Lower sense is good to support a snipe centric build but if you can learn to snipe on 9-10 sense then it just opens up so many more options to you, especially for dealing with shotgun pushers or for flicking on to multiple targets. I must say that I play on PC, so I was sort of forced to learn to play that high to stay competitive with mnk players who can turn 180 in a fraction of a second, at least while using a controller, but on console having that kind of reaction time can only be more useful.
My tip is to use traction for quick turns, it maintains your steady aim and great for quick turns and tracking

This video actually kinda helped me. I finally grew a pair and grinder out Mountaintop, and I just played comp and now I’m waiting for Momentum Control to get the double kills. I actually now feel like I am improving at the game by focusing on me, not the match.
In the freelance playlist people quitting teams is sooooo often, times where I we get 3 - 0 but then 1 guy leaves and we lose, or we're already on the losing side and 1 guy leaves giving us literally no chance. Same thing for the other team too, had games where we were losing badly but 1 guy on the other team left and we got a win

Destiny 2 is a game, a form of entertainment: every match I play I ask myself this question, “did I have fun?”, unfortunately, I find myself not having fun the majority of the time. The goal of pvp in destiny is not to improve, it is to have fun; even though there will be a winning team and a losing one, no body should feel like they are being stripped of their happiness.
The goal of quickplay is to have fun, the goal of competitive is to improve.
i just used hh supernova when it was busted to get to 5500 in freelance. after that i just used whatever i wanted, played survival all day, and just naturally learned how to counter-play my loadout’s counters
Everytime I lose, I go to a rumble match and just stay there, readying and stowing my last word for a minute because you do a cool spin with it, then kill everyone.
hot tip: if you do quit you, you will have a more stress free life.
i did it months ago after reaching legend once, never again, wasn't even worth the stress and frustration.
That attempted snipe at 7:12 is SUPER suspect, the way he knowingly peeks the moment Cammy moves out of cover for regen.

It is something everyone can use, also if no one used it then it would be the same, you know the other player is sniping and you are sniping so none of you move and wait for eachother to make the first move. The problem is there isnt an insentive to make the first move. Runing towards the target who snipes with felwinters lie isnt that secure in survival
the worst part about comp imo is the number of times a teammate or I get error coded when the game starts

you are not giving up a slot if there is no ammo for it, that's dumb. if your equipment was locked, then maybe it would be worth considering, but being able to switch at any point makes it free information

Just a heads up icky is an old friend their team is illuminate plays with cubers and another guy called Yung. They're 13-18 year olds and a couple are known for cheating (made new accounts when banned) they are solid players, but something's off about the two previously convicted of cheating (icky and purified is legit, rest no).
I've scrimmed and beat them, but after its impossible to win when it seems they all of a sudden activate toggle.
Don’t change weapons out of frustration. Just relax and sometimes it helps to be aiming going into an engagement to land the first shot

i got not forgotten solo and mida catalyst all in the freelance playlist it took a week but i guess my only tip is dont give up, try to set goals for a day like get to mythic 1 one day and get to mythic 2 other, it worked for me i still have to go to legend two times and i plan to go on freelance since my friends dont pvp lol, good luck out there guardians
I honestly completely agree with all you said. I just came back from a long break from d2 in general like 2 or 3 seasons of time. Trying to shake the rust off in pvp by playing comp but its just discouraging when all im told is "you're shit" when im trying to relearn.
It's true Guardians, I'm a terrible sniper. One day, during Trials, my buddy was like, "Wish we had a sniper on our team". So, I pulled out revoker and painfully started practicing.
The first week was tough, negative KDs. Second week much better, improved KD.
Third week, decent sniping, positive kid at least 1.0+
Fourth week, Much better sniper, further improved KD.
Fifith week, Good Sniping, referenced walls and objects to align heads, snap sniping.
Sixth week, SBMM puts me with upper tier players, my sniping is now good enough to stop above average players on the spot.
Now, I'm exploring no scope super snipes to deal with those up and close Supers.
Practice, no matter how bad your games are, just keep pushing, one snipe turns to two and so forth, next thing you know, you log in, play Clash, the Sniper feels so smooth and natural in your hand, you've done this dozens of times, but today feels different...you finish the match with a 5.0 kd, get hate mail on chesting accusations.
It's the best, if I can do it, you can do it.

Also cammy, could you make a Warlock and Hunter builds video like you did for titan a couple seasons back. Honestly, the amount of times Ive been called a cheater since the hackers invaded. Just because we kept playing and learning to adapt to these 'god-like' players our skills gone even further beyond. It's like finally going to Universe 6 to fight cheaters (ahem Freeza) and levelling up to the next level of Saiyan.

Rework swords so that unless you're swinging they remain first person and flip the camera around to face you on emotes. Make emotes play the full animation and make persistent ones toggled, turn them on and off with the same button.

Like going into a steam profile to check if they are cheaters and finding a bunch of comments saying they are cheaters isn't suspect at all actually. People are so quick to call others cheaters in this game. I think the fact that his profile is even visible shows he's not cheating. Most cheaters private their profiles.
As long as u have a good skill, great team and amazing communication. You're unstoppable basically.

I literally hate sniper rifles. SO annoying to play against and they’re not as hard to use as everyone thinks. You hold down a lane and even if you body shot, that is SO much pressure. And the fact that revoker exists is infuriating. And getting sniped while flinching someone is so annoying, there’s no counterplay to snipers except, another sniper or luck. They need to look at snipers in terms of balance.
Honestly what should happen is in pve the emotes and third person mechanics should stay but in pvp they should be disabled (like swords) and emotes should be replaced with certain callouts or markers for team communication. In gambit it could switch when invading/being invaded

Because those are important. “He’s weak!” = “if you push him now, you will have health advantage in the gun fight” or “I’m reloading” = “I’m unavailable to take shots for the next x seconds, so you know what kind of support you have when you engage”. In actuality, those are some of the BEST call outs. Those have won my team games.

With the differences in levels this season between free to play and payed season players, I felt overwhelmed and fell into a big discouragement play time, nevertheless I didn't quit and I'm on the grind to get good at the game without paying for the power boost
Last season was blah for me in comp but i got not forgotten. I'm above average but playing against high skill players was some how enjoyable for me!

The purpose of the crucible is to repeatedly be destroyed and remade into a greater weapon. This is what we should strive for in comp.

The shotgun consistency is was insane that game, aside from that one oof.
Also uhm it's beloved, you get free headshots if you manage to click anywhere near a head most of the time, combine that with someone who's actually good at sniping and you get a lot of sniper bullets in peoples heads
But Cammy, you 3peeked all the time in D1 and even in D2 before trials came back. You even considered it a high level strategy. Why did it suddenly become toxic overnight?
Note: I am not defending 3peeking, I understand why people dislike such slow gameplay. But it has always been this way, and only recently have people been calling it out as toxic instead of a smart play. Also, if that and snipers are the worst you have to put up with in PvP consider yourself lucky. Console still has to deal with Suros + Felwinter.
There is a big difference between using 3rd person aggressively (like in cammy's sword blink video) to the shit we currently see that slows down the pace of the game to a crawl. it's just not fun
To me, it sounds like he considers it a top-level strategy, but just realizes that it makes the game less fun. Since he’s playing at the top level, using top-level strategies is all but necessary to win
There should be rumble competitive and award points to players in the top 3. Bottom 3 just gain no points, but all get rewards for playing (with top 3 players acquiring more rewards). This way the game mode doesn't demoralize players for losing points, but rather be playing in general.
What if when you used an emote you couldn't cancel the animation in pvp? I would say leave the sword peak in as you are actively giving up your heavy? Thoughts?

I don't know why, but in competitive (freelance) the people i play against are always much more skilled than my teammates.
The reason for that is the rediculous mm algorythm in comp. Basically you are punished for playing your heart and doing well. If you finish top of your in one game. Expect in the next match to be handicapped by given two potato team mates with no thumbs. If you win a game you are expected to carry potatos. No one likes this system the top tier players dont like it the avarage dont like it.

I'm gonna be honest, I hate playing against played like his because I feel like I can't play the game but Holy shit you have to give to them they are sooo good. Well done cammycakes
People need to learn to literally stop dying. "Like a line of thralls" is the most apt description for most blueberries I meet in fabled (And a fair bit in mythic too). The amount of times people challenge the same lane after getting domed is silly. If you can't win your ones, that's fine, learn to disengage and regroup with your team. It is so tiring to realize one teammate has burned your entire pool of lives before you've even died once.
Another mistake I notice a LOT in a lot of lower level games is people will literally hold their supers for more than 3 rounds. It's one thing if its a cancel super, but so many players hold super when they could be making orbs for their team and charging their second/third super.
And finally, is learn to recognize when you are tilted. If you are losing more than 3 games in a row, and you're not consistently topping the endgame scoreboards regardless, maybe take a break and try again either in a couple hours or even days
Also, stop wasting supers/time trying to win a round when you're last alive and they have lives. You don't need to kill 3 opponents, you need to kill 3 + however many lives they have left. And they will be building super the entire time too, for the next round.
This is just a random question, a year or so ago snipers were considered useless compared to shotguns, everyone used a shotgun and snipes were a rare sight, now it seems like snipes are considered to be broken and op when i cant think of what could have possibly changed between shotty meta and now, ive been using snipes my whole time in d2 and they feel the same as they did back then, and its the same maps for the most part, so whats so different now? (Excluding revoker)
It’s because they made a couple changes to targeting and aim assist for most guns and the perks on them. Also, more people have got used to sniping and never miss.
CROS BONES well the main change was when they almost completely removed sniper flinch, now it’s even less than for pulse rifles.
