- Today we continue on with The Road to Horsepower with the Predator 212cc Hemi engine. On todays video we will be stroking the 212cc Predator to a 223cc using EC Carburetors stroker kit. We made a good jump in torque and slap it on a go kart to take it for a rip!

1320 Video owns "draggy" so that's huge for your channel!
Lonie reaction in the cart.. Priceless
Hell i guess i just need to start building these kart engines and selling them 😂 built a sleeved and stroked kohler twin for a tractor pulling buddy and made 97hp @ 10,500 with 50ci
Thing sounds mean. Love the series you've inspired another hobby/addiction for me.
Wow Lonnie wasn't kidding about it being darty!
I use a business card for setting the coil gap on everything… works like a charmmmm ; )
I got a free go kart. It has a predator engine that runs well. At first I thought I just needed to mount the tires and put the chain back on. But the chain was a little too long. So I mounted the tires than fixed the chain. But the axel seems to be bent. The chain tightens and loosens as it rotates. The main issue is the axel hex. So all the hardware on it is also hex. hex. Hex axles are not very common... I could change out for a round axle but then the wheels would not work on it. I hate when projects keep getting more and more complicated.
COLUMBIA SC IN HERE BROTHER KEEP GRINDIN
803!!!!
@@Adam-nv9zo YESSIR BIG METRO 803 IN HERE #ALLMYLIFEBASSHEADZ
Thank you for continuing to provide us with all the great information, and entertainment. The front wheels are 'walleyed' and they need to be towed In a hair so the cart's not 'darty'.
Awesome stuff as usual. EC carbs is quality stuff no doubt.
Great video. Wildcat 946 head and bigger carb next?
I was wondering about maybe if you could maybe do a video on throttle and break control for a disabled person paralyzed from waist down? That would be awesome. One thing I never really see with all the RUclips car builders or bikes or scooters or karts is handicapped accessible driving
Very cool
You should dyno test the wildcat 946 big valve head
Red gasket garage
Will you please do a $200 32/25 14cc head next from EC? I’m sooo curious what that bigger valve does on the dyno. I have this identical build and when I added that head it took off almost 2 whole seconds a lap at the race track (NY RACE COMPLEX)
We have that video in the line up. Coming real soon.
Where did you get the engine stand you used on this rebuild?
I'd like to know what it makes without ratio rockers
I do wish yal would add the prices for a consumer so we know how much it would run to keep up with the build as well!
Dang, if only you could give a veteran a build like this…ha
Hey yes I'm a big huge fan And I have a problem with my go cart Predator 301 CC motor And I just put AVM 34 carb on there I put the carburetor on And from factory My go kart wants to roll And will you move the idol and the fuel mixture screw in and out They won't do anything I was wondering how do I fixed And I've been a big fan of yours for a long time I've been watching your video for many years If you would please answer me I would greatly appreciate it and I got the carburetor off of Amazon brand new and if you would please let me know I would greatly appreciate it I hope you have an amazing day God bless you and your family
Hey I’m currently putting together my first 2 stroker kit bikes and I started with my 10 year old daughters engine which is just the engine that came stock on my bike. I took it apart thinking it was a 196 like all of them and it’s a 70mm bore but with GX200 specs on the wrist pins and rod and flywheel. So anyway I’m installing everything to test fit and the piston was flopping around in the cylinder 😂. Regardless of that I found that the stroker crank was contacting the bottom of the piston and the rod cap bolts were contacting the engine case wall opposite of the jug. Basically it only had the ears clearanced. So I got busy with my grinder wheel taking all the black off of it and basically making everything shiny. I had to grind under the cylinder right where the rod passes by because it was contacting that too somehow. Crazy ish bro. Fun to play around and make it yours though. Knowing that my kid is gonna love the hell out of her custom painted Teal and black stretched MM80 with a bad ass engine
What good does it do to put a little bit of assembly lube on something? If you don’t smeared around on that piece of whatever it is your sliding into there doesn’t do a bit of good.
can you make front plate for Manco dingo
Got a question. Why not buy the cam you want instead of buying cam and ratio rockers?
That idle mixture a little lean?
I think the same thing. I will tune it up soon before the next video.
@@RedBeardsGarage what ring compressor are you using
how long can u ride on one tank of fuel
Left front barely touching. Its great for oval but not for drag or circuit.
16hp min 18hp tops
+ or - .005" on crank to rod clearance is Way too big of tolerance!
First one , hi Greg
Because of the poor rod to stroke length ratio in these engines, you do see a lot of skirt wear in the bore. Just the name of the game.
shouldnt you make sure the wristpin clips are clocked with the opening at the top or bottom so they cant ever compress and jump out of their groove?
Do they ever use the timing advance keys. Idk if they make a big difference in HP.
That EC flywheel already has 34 degrees of advance which is what the cam card specifies. You could certainly use an offset key to advance or retard the timing if you needed to though.
What’s up red beard, used to race go karts weekly for about 10 years and one of the big things the guys were doing with the Briggs flat head engines was running an oil additive called “power plus hot oil additive”. Has some form of nitro in it I believe that’s gets left on the cylinder walls and allegedly makes more power. Wondering if you’ve ever heard of it and if you would dyno an engine with the stuff to see what difference in power it makes.
God bless RBG
Am I the only one that sees dial calipers checking sub .010" tolerances and cringes? Generally that's reserved for the micrometer world. Likely not critical here but... Ahhhh lol
Dial a geuss is what I like to call them lol
Dial calipers are accurate to +/- .001”. Not accurate enough for engine clearances typically
No, you’re not the only one. 😊
If the calipers read in thousandths, they are just as good as a micrometer. Having said that, they are good for reading O.D. to that fine of tolerance. But aren't as accurate at reading I.D.. The inside will read slightly less than the actual measurement because of trying to use a flat measuring surface against a concave part surface. So there's a bit that isn't being measured. Just slightly below the surface you're trying to measure
@@user-jp1hs6sl3h Saying that "calipers are just as good as a micrometer" is akin to saying a yardstick is as good as a precision scale... It just isn't so, and you can't compare them. That being said, I would be more inclined to use calipers on these small engines if that is all that I had, but I would never rely on them for building real engines, like motorcycle or automotive.
