You are a gifted teacher and I'm very impressed. I've had that Ryobi jigsaw for years and never paid any attention to all the features. Thank you for sharing your knowledge & I'm looking forward to being a subscriber. ( I just bought the Ryobi 10 inch table saw and have been staring at it for the past few weeks. It's a wee bit intimidating. If you ever feel like putting together a tutorial on the table saw that would be great!)

I've never thought of asking my husband for power tools for my birthday but I will. He's not a handy guy which is fine but I'd like to think I can make stuff on my own if need be because I am a lil bit handy and very creative so, yeah.

I watched David Stanton earlier today demonstrating how to cut a curve. His workpiece was a large piece of 42mm hardwood. He turned pendulum (orbital) off. He made the point that the front hand is for holding the jigsaw down, not for steering it. He made a special point of explaining why he doesn't use dust collection. The rear hand steers the saw, and applies gentle pressure to move it.
He showed the cut close up, it was straight and smooth.
He's also made a workbench that you can place on the dining table. I won't scratch the table, and it won't move. It has a lot of dog holes, based on the Festool multifunction table (MFT).

First of all your presentation on how to use a jigsaw was awesome! Being a new DIY’er I really appreciate your expertise. My first project is installing a cat door for an indoor doorway. I carefully leveled the template, then drew the lines. After drilling the lead holes as instructed I began to use my Ryobi Jigsaw for the first time. I’ll tell you…I’m still a little nervous but, getting use to it. My door in a metal one with foam insulation and has the square beveled panels. My cut started real smooth, using your direction for almost the entire top of my square template. When it got to the end the jigsaw kicked back and the blade broke. I diligently replaced it after removing the battery and started at another lead point from the bottom up the side. Again, pretty smooth until I got another kickback and broken blade. Then I almost got to the end of this cut and…you got it…kick back and broke my third new blade. I’m using blades that are labeled basic metal. It seems that when I get to the beveled portion of the cut this occurs. How can I cancel this kick back-broken blade curse??? In the end I used a reciprocating saw, which I never used before and got the job done but, not at neat and clean.

This video is the best in You Tube , your instructions is so comprehensive, and details information we need for beginners like my self. I have been upset because I did not want to use Angle Grinder so I had no idea what tool there is I thought the only tool is a hand saw but is manual is so hard on my hand and difficult to work with. I have metal ,plastic, and wood to cut and I am a female and small build so I don't have much strength to use dangerous tools like angle grinder , I think tools have been made for men . Some are heavy and bulky. I have been upset because I thought there is no a tool like the Jigsaw could do the jobs DYI . I am so grateful for your video and your wonderful demonstration , you certainly have covered everything there is to know for a beginner . Thank you so much, and I am so grateful for your video. I am now feel the Jig saw tool is exactly what I need I feel confident to use it because of your video , I have seen other video and they are below basic. Yours is the very best video . The other best thing about it , I am a female and finding a video that is being demonstrated by another female makes it just fabulous and make such a difference in gaining confidence to use it . Your are wonderful , and you appear you genuinely care for the viewers and being engage with us to ensure we understand how to use a Jig Saw and with confidence .

I know how to use a band saw but due to covid I wanted to get some cordless hand held power tools that I could use at home. This was so informative. I didn't know that the jigsaw could cut metal as well. I'm super excited to get one and start working on projects as soon as possible. Thank you so much for all of the work that you do and the information you share with us via youtube and your blog!

YOU. ARE. A. LIFESAVER! As a newbie DIYer, I have been hesitant to use many of the power tools. So my DIYs are limited. Thanks so much. I'd like tutorials on the miter saw, the circular saw, and drills (pocket drills and those big circular drills). See, so new I don't even know what they're called. LOL

Thank you sooooo much!!! Here I've been putting off projects awhile waiting for a man with power tools to come along and help me ..(like waiting forever, lol)... and you made this all so easy for me! I wish I'd seen this years ago! You explained things so well and simply and I'm going out to get me a jigsaw! Thank you!

Sister Appiah, this is so helpful! I like that this Ryobi uses the ‘t’ blades - better because they feel more secure. God bless! 💛😎

Not long ago I thought, what I wouldn't give for a jigsaw, a router, and a grinder. A friend of mine gave me all of those tools and more. Your video was great for getting me started with these new tools.

Wow, I don't think you left anything out. Loved the tutorial. The loud noise is what's keeping me from using any power tool.
But boy, can I ever use all that power to get things done. I do have a couple jig saws, a circular saw and a mitre saw, tile cutter, to name a few. I've always had my helper handle that part of our projects. Haven't worked on any projects in a few years and now I have a few I want to tackle on my own and here I am going through all my storage bins searching for all types of hand saws I know I have somewhere. LOL!
I came across this tutorial at just the right time. Definitely the confidence booster I needed. Thanks for sharing. Actually I'd appreciate any tutorial on any power tool because I really do love them from a distance.

HAHA, well, in that case, find an old dining room table that your wife wouldn't mind you using! LOL. I know for a fact we rarely use our dining room table. Then again, I only paid $12 for mine at the thrift store. HA!

Great demonstration on how to use the jig saw. I just bought one I’m excited about using it. I will now look at your circular saw tutorial as I also bought one and have no ideas on how to safely use it.

veeerry very helpful. am a total beginner and was thinking about whether to get a circular saw or a jigsaw. i watched video on making a wooden bed with drawers and the man used circular saw, so initially i thought thats what i was supposed to use. but the more i learn about the jigsaw, the more am leaning towards it instead of circular saw. this video solidified my decision. very thorough and helpful. thank you! 🖤
