Has anyone else noticed Amazon has quietly stopped offering 2day shipping BUT still charging for it.? People have started to wake up to this and now there is a Class Action in the works. Amazon might not be too big to fail after all
I sure have. Things say “2 day shipping” but that’s just not the case. Sometimes 2 weeks or more. I’m a little more lenient around Christmas but it’s been months and months.
I was able to get same day shipping from Amazon Spain here in Barcelona on last Sunday and only cost me 1.99 more. I was surprised to see them deliver before 8pm.
regardless of their shipping, AWS is a money printer. Can't see them failing anytime soon.
I used to work at Carvana as a PM and got laid off during their first rounds of layoffs. It seems to have been a blessing in disguise because at least I got severance pay. But let me tell you, it’s not this business model that was the issue. It was also the management…. Absolutely terrible.

Yea. I doubt Tesla has pricing power based on this video. Their prime customer is currently being laid off from Tech companies. I see pre-owned tesla hurting Teslas sales.
you don't make money on selling cars, you make $$$ on the service and maintenance of cars. Service based economy

When I worked with Carvana they reminded me of a homeless person with a $10000 limit credit card.... You should have saw the money that they were spending. I charge them $50 to replace a battery on their key fobs! 😆 💰

Note that chapter 7 is only for consumers bankruptcies. It has a debt cap of $450,000 last time I checked.
Chapter 11 is the section corporations use to restructure debt. There is no complete liquidation option for corps. ✌🏼
Bad businesses will go bankrupt. Good business will survive and improve

Everything is going to crash. The only thing that will rally all through 2023 is long-term treasury bonds. I made bank in bonds e.g. TLT, TMF at this exact inflection point in the last crashes and Fed mess.

You should point out the differences between Carvana and Shift. Carvana is not reacting to market changes at all. They are like a kid with fingers in their ears pretending they don't see what is going on. Carvana is going more than just bankrupt. Carvana is spending money like they still have some. Shift at least is a possible buyout.
You would think people who sell cars would know about being upside down. 🤷🏻♂️

Poor management doesn’t mean the model doesn’t work. It’s DEFINITELY not a sure thing they’ll go bankrupt. They borrow because they want to grow too fast which can be corrected. Swing Traders let’s do our thing

Cavana is an example of a company that had a cool story and ran hard. Analyst were with it while it ran but blatantly ignored the consumer gripes of terrible business.

This makes me kind of sad, I have bought and sold a couple of cars on Carvana and it was easier than ordering pizza. I really like the experience from a customer perspective. I have not used their financing, paid cash, so can’t speak to that.

What do you think was going to happen? They spend unknown amounts of cash putting up car "vending machines", Were buying cars at greatly over competition. etc. etc. Only reason they survived this long was VC money, and the Covid car shortage.
