It's a pity she didn't break the world record. Then you could say that the world record holder is not only the fastest, but also the best. The same cannot be said for Kendra Harrison.
I grew up doing athletics with her she is a freak, however a chick I knew was faster then her in under 15’s little athletics then by the end of the year at schools state and nationals sally went quicker. Jarrah never ran after that.
Sally Pearson seems confident and obviously 'backs herself' to win. I would not call that cocky tho. Love the comment 'stuff the bloody curse'. I think she sets a good example of positive self belief. The swimming equivalent is James Magnussen. Both seem to deliver the result in tandem with their belief - a good combination it seems.
i ran with her last year before worlds actually. she has done alot of local comps. there is a difference between cockiness and self confidence. i think you are getting confused with the 2
Did anyone else notice that Tiffany Porter seems to finish in the wrong lane. If you look at 3.47 you can see her first step in the lane beside her finishing in Lane 4 after starting in lane 5. Would that usually mean disqualification?
well comsidering i have run against her in her home town in aus. i can assure you she isnt cocky. if you want to see cocky, have a look at bolt or any of the other top mens sprinters...
hmm! can't say I've seen that in her yet. Falling in the last grand prix race should keep her realistic. Granted she knows if she gets it right she'll win, but is this a bad thing?
I guessing you've probably run against her when she was a bit younger. things have changed a bit then. she seemed cocky in her interview. but I can allow that I interpreted her words incorrectly
normally yes but because she wasnt impeding on anyones running. she was let go. if you look commonwealth games in the mens 100 with asafa powell. he finishes in someone elses lane but he was that far in front it didnt matter. if it was a race with a bend in it like a 2 or 4 or 4h it would be a different outcome.
My point exactly. I would have posted the same comment (swapping "black" with "white") in a NBA game video where a white man stood out. I don't know about you, but i´ve heard people say that black people are better at sports. Well, this video proves them wrong. Colour has nothing to do with it
she would have lost in the olympics, if the distance between the last hurdle and the finish line was a bit further. A couple of the girls she beat is much faster at running than she is, but she's much quicker going over the hurdles that's why she won.
if danielle carruthers and dawn harper had the same time, why did one get silver and the other get bronze. i thought that if 2 athletes came joint second, they both get silver and the bronze is not awarded
They got the same time for the hundredth of a second but in deciding the medals they look at thousandths. Both had 12.46x which is then rounded up to 12.47. The x in the thousandth place was lower for the silver medalists. But the official times are only recorded at the hundredth place.
you have a problem I don't, Im simply saying she's really quick over the hurdle, that's her advantage over other runners. That is a fact, why are you so upset over it. I know it's 100 meter hurdle, and that's all that matters but im just also saying it's her quickness and not so much her running that is the main factor for her. Now eat the truth and shut up!
Sally was running 11.9 when she was 14 and 11.4ish when she was 16 i think, so my question is, is she just a freak and would have been winning medals being coached by any old Jo Blow. How many other high profile athletes has her coach coached? Look at Francis,Mills ,Smith, coaching a number of top athletes not just a 1 off. So great athlete or great coaching? And if its great coaching where are the other 3 girls to make up the relay team you didnt have...............
2 main reasons. 1) Women are on average shorter than men. 2) Women have less 'spring' and speed therefore can't coil and recoil as well as men do. A women's 100m hurdle race would be pretty boring at the slower speed with higher hurdles.
I don't know about that. How about when the guy is just 5ft six and he has to get over 42 inch hurdles. Most female hurdlers would be over 5ft 8 inches I think.. :-)
Cool. I'm only two inches taller than you though Gail and my hurdles are almost a full foot higher. That's nasty, if you ask me for the most part women are more limber than men as well. :-)
False. First, read the 1995 UNESCO report indicating that there is no significance of "race" at the biological level. Second, she has 11 second flat open 100m speed, so she would also fair well in that race.
No actually it's proven that blacks have a natural aptitude for athletics. However, nothing beats the power of the mind. If you want to win, then you damn well will.
4th fastet time ever and the other 3 all in the drug era. I think shes prob clean but not many people talking drugs, yet all saying bolt and blake on some undetectable drug , whats the differance?
Agreed, but that hairdo? Kinda old-fashioned. Maybe it would look better down. Anyway, tough loss for her. Lost her balance a bit in the 4th or 5th, and then really blew it in the 9th. That's the hurdles for ya. One tiny error and that's it for you, usually. Anyway, Pearson's form is impeccable--and she's incredibly fast. Great race!
why the hell did they give bronze and silver when they both came in second...shouldn't that be silver and silver? IAAF needs funding to afford an extra silver medal?!?
Sally is a great technician. She has the right combination of power and skill to win.
Your not lying bro her and Dawn Harper my 2 favs
My favourite Sally Pearson race. Perfect from start to finish. This was an unreal sprint
It's a pity she didn't break the world record. Then you could say that the world record holder is not only the fastest, but also the best. The same cannot be said for Kendra Harrison.
pearson is smooth over the hurdle that's her advantage. She's from another planet.
Amazing athlete, the best 100m hurdle of all time no doubt!!!
I keep watching the slow motion replay. Her technique is flawless.
I grew up doing athletics with her she is a freak, however a chick I knew was faster then her in under 15’s little athletics then by the end of the year at schools state and nationals sally went quicker. Jarrah never ran after that.
She is the greatest to embrace this track event. Great hurdler
Su técnica es genial!! , Me encanta como pasa las Vallas ❤
she's fantastic x
porter is a hell of a beauty
She is incredible.
omg shes good wooooo go sally!!!!!
best women's hurdler ever!!!!!!!!!!
wow i am impressed

Great race Sally
On the last relay she just bunny hops over it, i love sally
Watch the 100m hurdles finals, for barcelona junior championships they have another decent hurdler on their hands
im pretty sure youll find she has the the quickest 100m flat time of all the girls in that final
They should because then they can compare times, even if the hurdles are lower at least it's the same distance.
AWESOME WONDER WHO BEAT HER
did she mention a new WR as well?
i ran with her last year before worlds actually. she has done alot of local comps. there is a difference between cockiness and self confidence. i think you are getting confused with the 2
Sally I love you whooo! Well done girly!
Did anyone else notice that Tiffany Porter seems to finish in the wrong lane. If you look at 3.47 you can see her first step in the lane beside her finishing in Lane 4 after starting in lane 5. Would that usually mean disqualification?

1:19 almost snapped her left ankle up REAL good
and now Shes Olympic champion eekk!!
Sally, Sally, Sally, what a babe!!
Dany should have shown mercy -- told the Masters if they did not follow the new rules THEN they would be nailed up on those crosses
hmm! can't say I've seen that in her yet. Falling in the last grand prix race should keep her realistic.
Granted she knows if she gets it right she'll win, but is this a bad thing?
pearson vs a prime devers would be somethin' to watch
I guessing you've probably run against her when she was a bit younger. things have changed a bit then. she seemed cocky in her interview. but I can allow that I interpreted her words incorrectly

13,28 ouch!!
They definitely are............
she's isn't that fast at just running, she's able to go over the hurdle so quickly, that's her advantage.
it seems sally won't be close to her '11 shape this year in moscow
she would have lost in the olympics, if the distance between the last hurdle and the finish line was a bit further. A couple of the girls she beat is much faster at running than she is, but she's much quicker going over the hurdles that's why she won.

0:35 the colors of australia are definitely not white and green...
Crikey!

green and gold for london, how it should be. The white and green sux

I don't see why the hurdles are so low compared to the men's. It's a full 10 inches!
2 main reasons.
1) Women are on average shorter than men.
2) Women have less 'spring' and speed therefore can't coil and recoil as well as men do.

I don't know any male hurdling champions under 5ft11 tbh. Colin Jackson looked short, but he was almost 6ft!
Daniel Gillen I'm 5'4" and a hurdler. I've raced girls smaller than me. Trust me, if we were to set the hurdles any higher, it'd be a disaster...lol.
Cool. I'm only two inches taller than you though Gail and my hurdles are almost a full foot higher. That's nasty, if you ask me for the most part women are more limber than men as well. :-)

Really? Source?
Why wasn't Porter DQ'ed? She ran out of her dam lane?
She didn’t impede anyone
@@carlmorrow1600 Yeah fair call
Thats like saying "black athletes would win all swimming events if only there wasn't water in the pool" thats the point.lol
Lol. U done?
4th fastet time ever and the other 3 all in the drug era. I think shes prob clean but not many people talking drugs, yet all saying bolt and blake on some undetectable drug , whats the differance?
a white girl running this fast only comes once in a century. just kidding,
Headline the next day: Amazing!! White chick wins track race!!
Of course if you pay attention to track you would know that white woman have been winning races for ....... since ever. So not so amazing.
Yes... but don't expect the blacks to give us any kudos for that.
Yes, she is your one and only, 'Great White hope', but let's get back to the real world...
No, white woman have won this before.
Agreed, but that hairdo? Kinda old-fashioned. Maybe it would look better down. Anyway, tough loss for her. Lost her balance a bit in the 4th or 5th, and then really blew it in the 9th. the best athletes in the world care more about their training and performance than how their hair looks.. that’s what makes her great.
BUT SHES WHITE?!?!!!
MachineGunEddi Twat
whats colour got to do with it really? pathetic.
Some hotties in this line up!
why the hell did they give bronze and silver when they both came in second...shouldn't that be silver and silver? IAAF needs funding to afford an extra silver medal?!?
