I remember asking my bro to do it as he's the best button masher I've ever met, and not even he could accomplish the minute long feat. Happy to hear they nerfed it as I no longer have the rapid fire controller that scene required 😂
I’ve been playing MGS2 since i was like 7 or 8 and by the time i was 10 i had already completed it on every difficulty except euro extreme because i couldn’t get past the button smash. Then a few days ago I found my old ps2 and tried playing it and I completed it. I’m 18 now so it took like 8 years for me to get past it 😂😂😭
I'm super mad but super impressed. All this time I have spent trying to get through the tanker mission, that would take me up to 30 to 45 minutes to get through (minus olga) and come to find out that there are easy moments throughout the entire experience. 😤😤😤
Back when I was decent at this, the Ray Extreme fight was my favorite. Naturally I wasn't half as good as dlimes13, and had to dodge a lot of missiles, but it was the most exciting thing back in the ps2 era. (Even more exciting than Dante Must Die DMC3.)
Is it on eu-xtreme too, that if you shoot or knock when you come out the elevator the president will go to the wall to investigate and you'll have a clear Nikita shot everytime or?

That was what actually kept me from completing that game on European extreme. It was so unnaturally difficult I eventually just stopped trying.

Yeah due to the quick deaths, the screen fades out before the bodies disappear. You must get all three head shots in quick succession.
MGS2: Substance is my favorite game of the series. I could beat the game on hard, but on extreme I could not get past Fatman
Him, the harrier and the god damn rays. Fatman because it’s a lot of time management but there are ways to take him out fairly fast.
On extreme i just planted tons of claymores and shot him in the head
