Thanks for bringing us along again Don, great work! Looks like a giant shlong sticking out of your hood, cover that package up...lol The Shaker looked a lot better in appearance.
9.5 is slow now lol. I still remember how happy you were for your 9.9. I get it though. I'm still gunning for my 11.5 my DA is nearly 5000 though. Though up here in Canada
I think it was the track and not the tires to be honest. Terris was doing his best but I think he lacks the knowledge to get it done right, but he is learning from some of the better prep companies out there. 💪
At this time of year, you don't have enough tire to have traction. The side walls on a drag radial are too stiff. With slicks, the side walls can absorb the initial hit better. I think you are at the point where you need to do one of 2 things. You either need to go to a slick when it is cool outside or convert your car to a wide body so that you can get more tire surface onto the track. You might have to do both. You might be able to get some runs without spinning at this time of year. However, I don't think it will be very often.
I don't disagree at all but I think the track still had moisture in it even after all the prep. I rained for 3 days prior so there was a lot of water out there. I'll discuss with Mack on what we should do next to get that power to the ground. 💪
@@ModernRedHemi - Another thing you can try is having different tunes and try using the one that best suits the conditions on a given day. Adding power creates other challenges.
I don't necessarily disagree but Terris is doing his best to change that. I think he just needs someone to drop the knowledge on him so he can make it happen. 😉
I think this was yesterday? The forecast called for slight rain so i thought the track would be closed, although i remember the sun coming out later.....
Double edged sword. Get lots of runs in when the track doesn't have moisture in it but then the prep is usually not as good because they don't want to lose money without enough cars to at least cover the cost. 😉
I love old Don!!!
Yeah, me too. 😂
Love seeing your car weekly 🔥. Keep up the good work
Thanks brother! I am trying but it's tough with all the better tracks either cancelling or having events every weekend. 💪

Yes sir! Glad you are coming along for the ride! 💪 There are plans we are working to see if we can get the Shaker back on there. 💪
Its time to learn how to do some power management, luckily for you its easier to do it on the holley than the stock ecu
Yeah, we have some work to do to make it consistent in the 9.0 and 9.5 indexes. 💪
Love the Steeler head rest
Steeler Nation! We are everywhere! 💪
More seat time is good shake and bake sounds insane coming off the line
Seat time is always good time! 💪
Wow bro that track prep is horrible. You need to bring that car to Darlington SC
Yeah, it was a bad prep day for sure. To their defense, it did rain the 3 days prior. 😉

Yes sir! It is slow in todays time. 😂 I was definitely happy when I got that 9.9 for sure. It's tough sledding when the DA is that high. Good luck! 💪
The MPH shows that the car clearly would've went 8's again, track conditions were the issue here
It sure would've. I knew it was still wet out, should've just stayed home. 😂
Time for those bias ply tires

@@ModernRedHemi I've always loved the et street r's.
There used to be grass then guardrail back in late 80s
Way before my time there. I moved to MD in 2010. 😂

The track prep at capitol always suck they need to someone with some real knowledge on track prep out there
I don't necessarily disagree but Terris is doing his best to change that. I think he just needs someone to drop the knowledge on him so he can make it happen. 😉
@@ModernRedHemi track prep is certainly a science. The guys out at Bakersfield have it nailed. Maybe he can call out there and get some tips.
@@ModernRedHemithey have to later it takes about 2 to 4 hours to get it right I have help done it before it’s definitely a job for sure
Lets go🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Yes sir! 💪
I think this was yesterday? The forecast called for slight rain so i thought the track would be closed, although i remember the sun coming out later.....
Yes, this was Saturday. Was sunny after like 1100 or so. Track was still a little wet even after all the prepping. 😞
22s quarter mile lol Don you're setting records. 😂
Let's see you break that one! 😂
@@ModernRedHemi I would need my 08' 2.7L V6 charger back. 😂
You pull the cowl?
Nope. I wound up spinning anyway. 😂
@@ModernRedHemi probably why the mph was down a little too
That’s sucks the track is empty

Old habits die hard. You are sooo spoiled now that 9.6 runs are throw away runs LOL. New Don only showed up for the first run 🤣🤣😎😎
I know right? Too spoiled... 😂 New Don didn't hang around long 😂
