Keep in mind, this does not take labor into account. That's an entirely different price tag. Also, forgot my Redeye axles which I got used for $250; doubt you'll ever see them that cheap though. Oh, if you ever need to know what mods I've done, they are always in the description of all of my videos. 💪
I was going to mention the missing axels so you read my mind! Where did you find your axels if you don't mind pointing me in the correct direction & is the Hellcat TB worth the cost I have a Ported 87mm currently?
@@coopdogg871 I got mine from a friend that upgraded his and gave them to me cheap. You can try the dealership or one of the Mopar parts sites, or Direct Connection. Unless you’re trying to get every last hp, you’re fine with the 87mm. Especially if your manifold isn’t ported for the Hellcat one.
I just cammed my 2022 manual rt . And along with almost full bolt on . I’m so happy runs amazing but does not get any traction! I want so do a good set of tires . I also did head studs and keywayed the crank for boost in the future
Brother you did your thing your way. I salute you. We each choose our build. Who is to say which is "Better"? I will The "Better" way to go is what made You happy! 👍👍
Hey Don I've followed your channel for a long time and I've seen the journey Shake n Bake has gone thru. Love it ! I got a 5.7 myself and hopefully in the near future I can put to good use the things I've learned from u. Keep the great content coming brother !! 💪💪💪💪
Thanks brother! It's been quite the journey. I am glad that I can be of some help on your journey but always conduct your own research and don't take one mans view as gospel, much like a doctor. Always get a second opinion. 😉
70year old 70s gear head and I love my 2016 5.7 Shaker. I've been watching your channel for several years now. Your always fun to watch and honest. You have witout a doubt shown what the 5.7 hemi is capable of. Keep up the good work and most of all stay safe.
I'm 55 so I can kind of relate 😉 Only been in the gearhead/hot rod scene since 2016 when I bought this Challenger. I 100% appreciate the support brother! If you've been around several years that's pretty much the beginning! I'm just a guy modifying his car to go as fast as I can. I most definitely will brother! 💪
before anoyone says why not just buy a XYZ keep in mind SnB was done in stages while on a 5.7 payment and insurance, so low monthly cost. the full retail price of the parts including the car may equate to a hellcat now but Dons build is way more capable and powerful for the money running 9s at 950+ WHP. this is race talk here not stocks n bonds NO ONE is modding their car heavily without plans to keep it forever so if youre not a car enthusiast, if youre not man enough to wait out the process, if youre on a budget or moneys tight dont get into cars. go buy art and real-estate or CDs/IRAs if you want an "investment" this is fast car life its not for the timid
The suspension is one of the most important mods so it will support the power mods.....my 19 challenger hellcat redeye suspension is done with all AAD including their new front and rear lower control arms....basically around $6500 plus rear diff brace and cradle lockout, also eibach pro kit springs....basically suspension complete, still acquiring power mod products to support 1000hp and street reliability....so it takes alot of time and yes money😂
Love how far you have taken SnB. I'm sure you also plan on keeping it for a long time, as I do my build. Now that its dialed in, you have a car that you built, will beat a hellcat, and still costs less. Plus once you modify the hellcat, no warranty and much greater depreciation. It's totally worth it when you have a second car to daily while the car is down. 2024 is going to be a fast year at the strip.
It sure does. I did this over the last 7.5 years so you tend to lose count. I try to be 109% transparent, no matter the cost or questionable feedback I get. 😉
Subscribed!! Man I want to mod my 1500 RAM, but I want something to play, have fun and daily drive it and tow with it. If you have any recommendations would appreciate it. Also if you know anyone in FL. Who is a trustworthy mech let me know👍🏽watched a bunch of videos and definitely you have waken the beast out our 5.7s. Awesome content!!
Thanks for the support brother! Depending on your budget, I'd do a Whipple with 7-8lbs of boost and have fun all day long. I don't know any good shops in FL but I'll ask around and see what pops up. 💪
@@ModernRedHemi thx brother, used to tune RX7s back in the day, now im into the bikes and quads ,but with a $10k I should get something pretty fun 4sure, I honestly like the turbo feeling, mid power but if you recommend Whipple I'll definitely look into it 4sure🤘🏽
The ONLY criticism I'd have is if your paying for a built short block it's no more money ( even in today's money its 1000 more so same money then and that's fully assembled stroker 392-411), if your not gonna daily drive and 100k mile it thrust loadings and wear theory doesn't apply....that 60ft would be liking it probably 2-3 tenths faster on less boost ( heat )... I'm like the other guy people got to remember most aren't buying 45k in mods doing it all at once... you didn't have to go to HP90 until your 70 actually gives up and they will hold quite a bit for a while you lift get 700whp for a year or so out of it while you save for the 90.... Same goes for every modification
You bring up a great point, and I need to do a video on it, is buying a new stroker or 345 short block vs what I have done. It's really not that much more expensive. 😉
Hello Sir I hope this message finds you well. I am a proud owner of a 2016 Grand Cherokee with a 5.7L HEMI engine and currently my setup is camshaft + cnc headporting+full bolts on+ air intake+upgraded transmission+ tune making 420wheel hp iam Interested in exploring upgrades with a twin turbo setup for the vehicle. Could you please provide me with information on how much boost i can go with stock internals and bottom end on the engine also how much wheel hp should i be expecting and any recommendations from your side Best regards, Your input is highly appreciated
That's a pretty sweet setup. On stock internals, I recommend not going past 10psi. Anything over that you could have issues, though there are a few out there pushing 20+ (I did on my stock internals). Or go as far as your pocketbook, time and patience will allow. 😉
I have the same dss 4in aluminum driveshaft and I have to ask have you experienced any vibration or hear a whirring sound that increases pertaining to wheel speed because I have that problem with my rt charger
It's more a safety concern than improving times. One piece with a loop is much safer than a two piece because the 2 piece has several possible breaking points. 😉
To round it off you payed 70k car included i personaly would just get an rt and mod the hell out of it like you did thats 10x cheaper then paying 250k+ for a demon 170 and you basically make the same kind of power the demon 170 makes but ppl fail to realize that
What’s the point? I rather just build the 5.7 rather then buying a hellcat if it takes me 5+ years to get half way o well the fact is yours is built not bought well done Sir been waiting on a list.
Great point and couldn't agree with you more. It's about the journey and the happiness from that journey in bringing a car to where you want it to be. Thanks brother and the list is always in the description of all my videos. 😉
You couldn’t be more wrong brotha. I just bought a 2028 5.7 challenger for 29,999. Granted I think your point was ya ain’t gunna get one new for that but it ain’t what ya said lol
From a financial standpoint, it's hardly ever worth it to mod a car. There are always things that you forget when you do a mod list. For example, if you won a Mopar, there is either the cost of an unlocked PCM or pay to have it unlocked. Most R/Ts don't come from the factory with a limited slip differential. In addition, there are the mods that don't work out. There is also aggravation with modding a car that results in downtime. There is also the cost of labor. Resale value on a modded car is limited at best. Higher level trims keep their value far better. If you think modding a car is worth it, it is because you enjoyed the process. I'm not saying this to throw shade at people that mods their cars. I'm saying all this from personal experience. For example, I bought a V6 Mustang in 2014 and modded it. For what it is, it runs fairly good. It is high 11 second car. A Mustang GT was about $10 more than my car. I spent about $15K in mods that did work out. There is also the cost of mods that didn't work out as planned. All I had to do is add a nitrous kit, pay for a tune for the Mustang GT and run 11s with it. The Mustang GT resells for at least $7K more than my car.
That's definitely the truth. It is all about the process and building what you want to build with what you have and taking pride in it. Most people don't get that. They just look strictly at the financial or other routes, which there are many other cheaper routes to meet your goal, whatever that is. Thanks as always for chiming in! 💪
Well, honestly, you could build your own for less and unfortunately, kinda have an emotional attachment to this one. 😉 If I ever do decide to sell you will be my first dm. 💪
Personally don’t think it was worth it. Atleast in my opinion. I spent 20k with MMX for a 454 stroker scat pack only making 525 wheel but it’s rated for 250 shot. I paid 32k for my scat pack. Thats 52k in. I also bought a hellcat used for 55k spent 3k for pulleys and injectors tune labor etc they also built it’s making 805 wheel and 750 torque. I respect the build as long you’re happy that’s all that matters. That’s one of the fastest 5.7 I’ve seen.
I am not disagreeing with you at all. It's more about the process and modifying a car you love more than just strictly looking at the financial piece which is where everyone gets wrapped around the axle about. I've said it in a few videos, there are better and cheaper ways to make big power and build a 9 second car. Maybe I'll do a video on that. Appreciate your candid comment and understanding that it's about being happy with what you're doing. 😉
Keep in mind, this does not take labor into account. That's an entirely different price tag. Also, forgot my Redeye axles which I got used for $250; doubt you'll ever see them that cheap though.
