Hebrews 7 Melchizedek

A Great High Priest according to the Order of Melchizedek!
In Hebrews 7 our author returns to the theme of Jesus as a High Priest not according to the Aaronic priesthood established under the Mosaic Covenant, but a High Priest appointed directly as High Priest by God the Father. Connecting Psalm 110:4 with Genesis 14:18-20, our author illustrates the superiority of Jesus' priesthood to the priesthood of Aaron.
When we understand that Jesus Christ is a greater High Priest than Aaron, we understand that it is foolish to stop depending on Christ as our intermediary with God to return to priesthood established under Aaron.
