With Reed captured by the Hidden Ones, the Human Torch went to Dr Doom and asked for his help. Doom, using a combination of science and magic, saved the baby. All he asked in return was that the child be named Valeria, after his childhood love. There is more to the story, but still impressive.

Doom humbled Purple Man by removing his mask and allowing PM to try and mind control him. Doom's sheer force of will was more than capable of negating PMs powers. Purple Man couldn't understand how someone with such powerful willpower could even exist.

Doom's arrogance will always be his own worst enemy, and this list makes you come across as a Doom Apologist. He is a totalitarian Monarchist and a murderer. He could have re-written Machiavelli's The Prince and made it even more ruthless. His 'perfect world' eliminates all choice and free will in everyone else except Doom. No, thanks. There's nothing redeemable in Doom's character. Even when he makes a right choice, he does it for his own self-aggrandizement, and clearly, it never sticks.
And that's why he's awesome!!! Nobody said they want him to win, but when not just in comics but almost all of fiction has a horrendous problem with creating compelling villains, Doom stand out.
