Hi Nick, when starting a new one product store, should a creative be scaled if it doesn't receive any conversions within 7 days though received a lot of outbound link clicks which would be considered to positively effect the store? This is on the basis that it spends your AOV. Also, if a creative receives a conversion, is taking a majority of ad spend though reaches the AOV, would you turn it off or would you scale it to try and achieve more conversions?
Hey Nick, You said that if you were going to test to females for a gifting angle you would set up a new campaign if the main audience was male. Could you do this in the current CBO campaign and just launch the gifting angle ads as a new DCT ad set targeting females? Thanks
Nick, is there any reason why when campaign is set at CBO, and ad set at dynamic creative, it doesn't allow you to duplicate more than 1 ad in the ad set due to dynamic creative being turned on.
Hi Nick, thanks for the great video. I have been using the old techniques lookalikes, and interests for years. I am having issues scaling them for years like you said. I want to transform my old campaign structures following your recomendations. Do you suggest I gradually scale down my old campaigns and add the new broad cbo campaign little by little. or do you suggest I turn off them all down and create a new one from scratch? Thank you for your help! and look forward to hearing your advise. :)
Thank you for all your videos, lots of advices everytime! I have a question regarding creative testing and I'd like to explain my situation before asking it: I have a CBO campaign with a main ad set containing my 4 best creatives. Three of them have several million views, thousands of comments, and shares. When I launch a DCT ad set in this campaign, it spends very, very little budget (about 2% of the budget), as my main ad set cannibalizes the entire budget. The performance of my main ad set declines over time due to repetition; the ads have been running for a long time and have been seen more than twice per viewer on average. So my question is: Should I launch my DCT ad sets in a separate campaign from the one with my main ad set to force it to spend budget? Or is the only reason my DCT ad sets aren't spending anything because the new creatives are bad? Thank you in advance for your response!
Great insights! I'm curious about your process: When testing different products with various domains, do you create a new individual Facebook account for each specific product, or do you have a dedicated 'testing' ad account for everything? I ask because my Facebook Business Manager is limited to only five ad accounts as far as I know. For every new product you test, do you create a new pixel? Thanks for sharing your expertise!
Hey nick, quick question what do you do when you run out of stock, what I did is I turned off my ads inside the dcts and mainadsets until I restock again
Hey Nick, Love your videos. As a beginner, these are really helpful to get started. I have two quick question. 1. I thought you recommend following the 3:2:2 method but it looks like there are 5-6 ads per adset. How many do you recommend? 2. I'm struggling with understanding how the creatives ads within an adset look like. Let's say I do a feature point out. Would the image be the same for all of them but I just slightly change the wording or point out features in one and benefits in another? Thank you very much
3:2:2, those were some other random things we did in this account that is not what we normally do. Correct, you change one variable across all of them. I would always start with visuals
Hello Nick on other videos Ive seen you recommend leaving the DCTs 7 days but you said on this videos if you dont have good results to turn it off after 3 days? Thanks. Rn I have a DCT thats generating expensive cost per leads.
I leave on for 2-3 days and if it takes a lot of spend i cut early, if overall business performance is tanking due to it. If it takes little spend i'll leave it on a little longer to try and improve things
If I have more than 3 creatives with one concept (for example only change the hook 10 times) how do you put all those ads? You split them into 2-3 DCTs?
Thank you Nick 💟 Is it better to advertise for each country separately? Or is it better to add all countries in one advertising campaign for the same product? Same product, same price, same language

Hi Nick, thank you! If I understand correctly you. want to find as many winning ads as possible, every week you will test 2-3 more DCTs to find a winner for your main ad set - even when you have 100 winning ads there already? The more the merrier, you will just keep having more winning ads as long as you can scale them? at some point, FB won't stop showing 90% of them (or more) and will just keep prioritizing the few best until they fatigue?
Hi Nick! Been watching your informative videos for a while and thank you for the value you're providing here. I have a question regarding ROAS. I understand that ROAS is not such an Indicator that could provide me with an idea about how an ad is performing, but at least it shows profitability. I saw a RUclips video where they have scaled an add to 300k total spend, but they had only 0.99 ROAS, and I totally lost it. I mean these people are not even getting your dollar back that they spent on their ads. Then how are you even scaling that ad. How viable it is to scale an ad if ROAS is less than 1? Could you please explain to me.
Yes due to returning customer revenue, we're not making a dollar on the front end but have a very high repeat purchase rate on the back end, that's where we profit at.
Hey Nick! If 75% of my ad spend and purchases come from IG Stories, should I focus on testing new DCTs exclusively on that placement? Additionally, should I narrow down my main ad set to only include IG Stories, or should I keep it on Advantage+ placements?
@@NickTheriot Thanks! What are your thoughts on creating a separate campaign only for carousels, while letting the other campaign focus solely on DCTs and winners ad set with single images and videos? My problem is that every DCT I create cannot beat a carousel ad.
Hey Nick thanks for this. With the new updates on Meta, making it difficult to find the post ID, are you still testing this way? Or are you now creating manually all your combinations? Thanks.
@@NickTheriot Thanks, I am also starting to do this, my only concern is that sometimes if you are testing 3 videos for example, 1 could be performing very well and spending most of the budget, the other two not performing but still spending 20/30% of the budget, so it could be optimised keeping only the best performing one, but with the new post ID issue that's complicated. Never thought about creating each combination manually to avoid this? Thanks
Hey If I have multiple personas for the same products How can I test them? I have desires and pain points for each persona Should I them them one by one? I mean creating DCTs for a persona and when I run out of concepts I go to another persona Or should I test them i parallel
Nick lets say my daily budget is about $40 USD per day. How many DCT's should I be running at once maximum? Can I run 2 at once, or is this budget too small?
I have a CBOncampaign that has 5 winning ad-sets and I have 19 new creatives to test based on those winners. Would you add the new creatives at the same time and raise the budget accordingly? Or add them slowly, trickleling them in daily or weekly?
Hey nick do you also use this with a brand new account? Like starting with DCT's or is it also good to first test like 7 diffrent desires/diffrent angles, and make a dct test from that winning 1? and test that further.
Hello, Nick! If your client doesn't invest that much in creatives so you can let the ad do the retargeting. Can you run 1 broad ad set and another with 30 days add to cart (not purchased) in order to retarget those people? Do you have some recomandations if I go like this?
when you upload 3 different creatives for the dynamic ads, on the ad level it only shows one ad. So when you are running the tests, how do you know which of those 3 different visuals are the winner? Obvs the campaign spend would go to that new ad set, but how do you know which of the 3 are responsible for the results so that you can take that variable and test 3 more?
But i see does effect a lot if you edit always winning campaign so here would definitely affect on performance adding new ad sets, also if you find winning ad sets all budget would go on winninga ad set so you will can’t really test new creatives
doesn't effect campaign performance and i'm totally okay if the winning adsets get all the spend, that is because it proves to me the new creatives are not better than the winners. My goal is to find ads that beat the current winners
Hey Nick, so if I am correct, you are only using one cbo and you are both testing and scaling in that cbo. Also one adset, would only have on dtc right? When on scale, how long would you give a new adset (so new dtc test) the time to perform. So say for example you are doing $10k days and you are testing a new adset, first day it doesn't really spent. 2nd day also doesn't spent, 3rd day neither. You just turn off the new tested dtc? And if it would spent, you would look at the performance of the store. If it did good, nice you got a new winner, otherwise you will turn it off correct?
Hi Nick, hope you're doing good. Been following your strategy for a while and it's been working for my brand. We're only running to a standard product page at the moment. We're thinking about testing out some advertorials / listicles. Question is, would you take a creative that is working already, and run that to the advertorial / listicle, or would you create something new which based around the content of the advertorial / listicle? Also, would you test within the same main CBO, even though it's going to a different LP?
@@NickTheriot ok, will give it a try. Lastly, if you were to test a different offer for the same product i.e different price/bundle offer, you test that in the same campaign right? I guess my question is will it get a fair test or are you of the notion that it will earn its spend if it's good or not? Or, do you use A/B testing apps?
Nick so when the dct takes off and gets majority of spend doesnt that mean facebook "believes" in that ad and it should bring better results? Maybe it is still learning and after few days results would be even better? What do you think about? Because I have one that that gets majority of spend (withing last two days) and has inceedible stats like cost per click but roas and cpa are quite low. Do you think maybe let it run for another few days so it gets out of learning and maybe result will be better?
hey nick, thank u for the great content! There is one thing I don't get: If i have an winning DCT with the 3:2:2 method, do I just delete the other two creatives and let it run 1:1:1 without moving it to my main broad adset? Hope u can help me.
Hey nick, would you follow the same strategy for special category lead gen ads? I'm still having a hard time dropping my cpl, i figured it would come down after new years but it hasn't.
@@NickTheriot Do you think it's a wise idea to duplicate and relaunch a broad targeting campaign that's been working for the last 3 months but now it's been 20+ days and the CPC keeps going up? Or do we just keep testing DCTs.

This is for a booked call funnel btw. Also do you ever put minimum spends on new DCT's to give it a fair launch against the main ad set?
thanks a lot for these informations. I have a question I always run a new campaign and it works well for the next 7 to 14 days, then it starts to go down and reach a high cost. So I stop them. Should I keep it running and wait a few more days for it to stabilize again, or is this the end result?
Curious your thoughts on minimum ad budget for an ad set to make sure it gets a fair launch? I currently have a minimum budget on a winning DCT now. Winning ad id has been graduated and is now getting majority of spend. But I saw from your recent 2024 videos you leave the winning DCT on still. So I turned the winning DCT back on. Now do I remove the minimum budget from the initial DCT? Thanks

Also, if a creative receives a conversion, is taking a majority of ad spend though reaches the AOV, would you turn it off or would you scale it to try and achieve more conversions?
Yeah if it hasn't received any purchases, it should not be scaled. Keep testing creatives until you find one that gets purchases
@@NickTheriot If an ad received one single sale and spent the AOV value to do so, would you scale or kill it?
@@StefanPerera-sk2ne Depends if that is my best ad in the account or not
@@NickTheriot Yes, that is the best ad. Would you kill or scale even if the ad is unprofitable?
Hey Nick,
You said that if you were going to test to females for a gifting angle you would set up a new campaign if the main audience was male. Could you do this in the current CBO campaign and just launch the gifting angle ads as a new DCT ad set targeting females? Thanks
Correct
Nick, is there any reason why when campaign is set at CBO, and ad set at dynamic creative, it doesn't allow you to duplicate more than 1 ad in the ad set due to dynamic creative being turned on.
Yes that is how it's intended to be used, that is why I create a new adset for each
Hi Nick, thanks for the great video. :)
I like the gradual method, add the new cbo campaign and scale it up while pulling budget from old campaigns
Thank you for all your videos, lots of advices everytime!
I have a question regarding creative testing and I'd like to explain my situation before asking it:
I have a CBO campaign with a main ad set containing my 4 best creatives.
So my question is:
Should I launch my DCT ad sets in a separate campaign from the one with my main ad set to force it to spend budget? Or is the only reason my DCT ad sets aren't spending anything because the new creatives are bad?
Thank you in advance for your response!
Can toss a $5 min spend on the new dct's, if they still don't take more spend, they're bad
@@NickTheriot will try that, thanks!
Great insights! I'm curious about your process:
When testing different products with various domains, do you create a new individual Facebook account for each specific product, or do you have a dedicated 'testing' ad account for everything? I ask because my Facebook Business Manager is limited to only five ad accounts as far as I know.
For every new product you test, do you create a new pixel?
Thanks for sharing your expertise!
I don’t test products as we only work with clients who have established products, but I would just use one ad account
Can you run ads for various domains using one Facebook account?
Hey nick, quick question what do you do when you run out of stock, what I did is I turned off my ads inside the dcts and mainadsets until I restock again
Pretty much
Hey nick! What's the reason behind switching everything to DCTs instead of putting winning ads in a main ad set?
Was finding winning dct's (taking majority of spend) and not taking off in winning adset, when moved over, so now i just leave the dct on
Hey Nick, Love your videos.
Thank you very much
I think I got it. 3:2:2 is on an ad level and shows as 1 ad only. All the ads are different 3:2:2 tests around the same concept. Do I get that right?
Correct, 2-3 dct's
Thank you Nick 💟
Is it better to advertise for each country separately?
Or is it better to add all countries in one advertising campaign for the same product?
Same product, same price, same language

Yes, one campaign pr country. Each country has dedicated shopify store with native language + price
For the most part yes this is true
I would
@@NickTheriot Thanks!
Thanks.
Yes I am, just leaving dct's on that win
@@NickTheriot Thanks, I am also starting to do this, my only concern is that sometimes if you are testing 3 videos for example, 1 could be performing very well and spending most of the budget, the other two not performing but still spending 20/30% of the budget, so it could be optimised keeping only the best performing one, but with the new post ID issue that's complicated. Never thought about creating each combination manually to avoid this? Thanks
Hey
If I have multiple personas for the same products
How can I test them?
I have desires and pain points for each persona
Should I them them one by one? I mean creating DCTs for a persona and when I run out of concepts I go to another persona
Or should I test them i parallel
One dct pr/ persona
In the case if choose BIG 5 Countries, is it better to choose english language?

Nick lets say my daily budget is about $40 USD per day.
How many DCT's should I be running at once maximum? Can I run 2 at once, or is this budget too small?
2 pr 7 days
@@NickTheriotthanks Nick. And for new campaigns, just test 2 straight up right?
I have a CBOncampaign that has 5 winning ad-sets and I have 19 new creatives to test based on those winners. Would you add the new creatives at the same time and raise the budget accordingly? Or add them slowly, trickleling them in daily or weekly?
I would launch 2-3 dct's every 7 days
How is your testing going with leaving winning DCT's on instead of moving it to Main Ad set?
Working well
Hi Nick, how many winning ads do you keep maximum for your main adset? I heard about 3-4, and 6-7. I am wondering yours. big thanks!
As many winners that I have
Hey nick do you also use this with a brand new account? Like starting with DCT's or is it also good to first test like 7 diffrent desires/diffrent angles, and make a dct test from that winning 1? and test that further.
I like to use this ruclips.net/video/Z6zMnzmNdfg/видео.html
Hello, Nick!
If your client doesn't invest that much in creatives so you can let the ad do the retargeting. Can you run 1 broad ad set and another with 30 days add to cart (not purchased) in order to retarget those people? Do you have some recomandations if I go like this?
I would solve the root problem, which is getting more creative into the account
when you upload 3 different creatives for the dynamic ads, on the ad level it only shows one ad. So when you are running the tests, how do you know which of those 3 different visuals are the winner? Obvs the campaign spend would go to that new ad set, but how do you know which of the 3 are responsible for the results so that you can take that variable and test 3 more?
You can look at the breakdown tab and look at dynamic element
thanks!@@NickTheriot
Yes that is correct.
Damn man, you are so quick to respond on your comments, really appreciate you. Liked and subscribed brother@@NickTheriot
I would create new ads for the advertorials
You would know within 24-48 hours if this new ad that gets all the spend, is better or worse.
@@NickTheriot Ok, thanks! So why do you think an ad that is actually worse gets sometimes majority of spend?
hey nick, thank u for the great content! There is one thing I don't get: If i have an winning DCT with the 3:2:2 method, do I just delete the other two creatives and let it run 1:1:1 without moving it to my main broad adset? Hope u can help me.
I never delete ads from my dct, i just let it run
@@NickTheriotso u just let the adset dct creative test run 3:2:2 even when u have 2 underperforming and you do not put them into ur main broad adset?
Hey nick, would you follow the same strategy for special category lead gen ads? I'm still having a hard time dropping my cpl, i figured it would come down after new years but it hasn't.
Yes i would
@@NickTheriot Do you think it's a wise idea to duplicate and relaunch a broad targeting campaign that's been working for the last 3 months but now it's been 20+ days and the CPC keeps going up? Or do we just keep testing DCTs.

how do you have the 3 images in the ad? I dont have that option to add multiple single images?
nor do i have the "optimize creative for each person"
Did you click on dynamic creative on at adset level?
How do you test your audiences with this strategy?
I haven't used an audience since Jan 2022
My winning ad is now getting majority of spend. So now the (original DCT that I turned back on) is still getting the minimum. Is it necessary to keep the minimum on if spend might be wasted? This is for a booked call funnel btw.
Also do you ever put minimum spends on new DCT's to give it a fair launch against the main ad set?
I never do min spends and you don't have to leave it on

hey nick why do you look frequencies in the past 30 days instead of each day? is frequencies really a big problem? especially if it below 2 perday?
Watch this video ruclips.net/video/FQeEsIk_HKw/видео.html
thanks a lot for these informations.
I have a question
I always run a new campaign and it works well for the next 7 to 14 days, then it starts to go down and reach a high cost.
So I stop them.
Should I keep it running and wait a few more days for it to stabilize again, or is this the end result?
I would keep running, never turn off

Curious your thoughts on minimum ad budget for an ad set to make sure it gets a fair launch?
I currently have a minimum budget on a winning DCT now. Winning ad id has been graduated and is now getting majority of spend.
But I saw from your recent 2024 videos you leave the winning DCT on still. So I turned the winning DCT back on. Now do I remove the minimum budget from the initial DCT? Thanks
you don't need to remove it, since it's a winner and likely spending significantly more than the min spend you set
After turning the DCT back on (I watched your recent 2024 DCT strategy). It appears majority of spend is going to the winner anyway. This is for booked call funnel btw.
Also with new DCT's do you set a minimum budget to give it a fair launch or no minimums?@@NickTheriot
Ok. majority of spend now is going to Winning ad. So should I not be wasting the minimum on the original DCT?
