I've heard about the gem-farming trick. The thing that I never really liked about the game was that any additional copies of the same items (weapons, armor, shields, headgear, cloaks, non-saleable accessories) that you picked up along the way, you were stuck with. There was no way to sell anything back to the Librarian, other than gems.
You know what's crazy? I was such a Nintendo nerd back in the 90s that I never heard of this game till a few weeks ago. One rom emulator later and now I'm getting to experience this game for the First time. My good god is this awesome. I haven't played a game as much as sotn in a looooooong time.

I now realize the awesomeness of SotN. Intricate is putting it lightly, so many cool things to discover! Played this back in 99. Just following the story being amazed. 😲🤩 Just fallow the story. Way back then after defeating the final boss... That blew me and my brother away... Its years old but. That was the shit!! 😄😃😆😆 I literally played this on ps1 from 2003 to 2007 off and on. So many secrets.
If anyone sees this now: the Muramasa actually becomes STRONGER as you feed it blood. IF you have nothing to do: equip the Knife subweapon, INT-lowering items, the Muramasa, Bloodstone accessory, and go to the room FILLED with Dark Octopus enemies in the Reverse Caves, and SPAM the knives. SPAM IT. This sword, if you put enough time into it, has the POTENTIAL to become the strongest sword.
Crissigram does more over all damage in a shorter amount of time if you have two equipped. It even has the advantage of taking a LOT less time to get than a fully powered Muramasa.
Izicial Or you can use Alcucard shield special with the more powerful mablung sword then swap out the sword for Crissagrim. Or better yet the alucard shield with Muramasa... I don't think the Crissagrim puts out 999 DPS lols
Jonathan Betenbender the best weapon is the Alucard Shield and the shield ride combo. Pull out your Shield run into an enemy damage them while healing yourself.
10:30 Called integer overflow. Basically the game calculates your amount of Diamonds as 0 - 1. But since you can't have a negative amount of items, the item amount is rolled back to 255 which is FF in hexadecimal (0 = 00). Hence 00 - 1 = FF. 99 is just the programmed hard cap. It's like removing a rev limiter on your car.
Also, there is a quicker way of levelling up familiars using the duplicator and power of sire on the sword in the reverse chapel, but you have to do that manually.
Sword Brothers works out of box, meaning you can get the duplicator before reaching level 50 for the sword. The duplicator is also in stock if you run a new game on the same memory card
Quickest way to level up familiars is to go to the chapel in inverted castle, where the spectral sword I think it’s called is. The sword with shields and spears, equip duplicator and pentagram. Go back and forth and and keep using pentagram. You can max out a fam from level 1 in about ten minutes or so.
I found every item in the game, it took me about a year playing around 3 daily hours, the funny thing is that are some monster That drop common item as a second item drop, which is extremely difficult on some Monsters like lion, the guy that drop the flamberge and the one on the inverted castle that drop the vorpal blade, and leveling becomes hard over the 70th level because guardian only give you less that 50 exp
The Muramasa has another perk that it gains attack power when you are hit with blood. It isn’t worth it, but if maxed it becomes the highest dmg weapon in the game.
you take and do your grav jump under his room, and he will fly in the air. then, do your double jump, to get rid of all your jumps... then do grav jumps to your heart's content IN MIDAIR, so you don't hit the roof of the room below. do this until your magic bar is completely empty... you will get Blue Knight's Armor (or something of that nature). go back to the save, to replenish your magic OR use a Mana Prism, and repeat that 2 more times... the Ring of Arcana and Dracula Tunic will follow.
Wow, never thought there would be another good ending, I just made the worst bad ending, and completing the game at 197%, Didn't knew about Maria giving up to him

I'd argue that Alucard Shield (with the Shield Rod enhancement) is the strongest in the game. I recently just played SotN for the first time and beat all the bosses in seconds just holding out the shield lol. That shit is ridiculous.
There is dozens of knock offs like this. Different characters enemies and such but still use the SotN layout. Heck most use the same map and even sample some of the rooms and sounds from the game. Look up Metrovania style games and you should be able to get a list.
There was a room where 2 schmoos rush you within 3 seconds i would farm. I got crissaegrim to drop within 10mins and a scarecrow knocked me out the room. Took an hour to get it to drop again....
This game brings back great memories one of my all time favorite games I hoped that the remake was in HD graphics but I don’t know if this could be possible but still a fantastic game with one of the best soundtracks ever that I heard in a video game 🎧🎼🎼

How are people surprised by the best ending (Maria chasing after Alucard)? You just have to discover at least 196% of the map. I wonder how people can beat the game without that. It hurts me if the map still has black spots at the end 😄

Correction...the muramasa is the strongest in the game. It takes a stupid long time to max out though but once it is...it does it gets 999 attack power

@@co81385 Crisaegrim renders any other weapon of the game completely useless , it's much more powerful than any other and you can just hit non stop while moving and jumping , once you got it you beat the game , period. Muramasa is useless too as it takes like 30 hours of farming bleeding enemies to max it and even get in the same DPS category as crisaegrim , and muramasa makes you stop moving when you use it. Crisaegrim is 5x80 per hit for more than a thousand damage per second and you don't even have to stop walking or jumping.
I managed to get the sword from the Schmoo .... but the ring of varda isn't dropping for me .... my luck seems to be pretty low and I don't have any gear to increase it. Been farming these mobs for over half an hour now.

I heard a rumor that you must have Gravity Boots, then head for the Long Library and jump straight up repeatedly where the Master Librarian sits until you get the Dracula Tunic.
Jerry Lange so if you were in the regular Library, the room he was in was either the one leading to the spot under the librarian’s chair, or the room above the Librarian, the one leading to the Lesser Demon mini-boss. It’s not hard to find those spots in the inverted castle.

Yeah I can confirm now that I've completed my playthrough, PSP is not just a port of the original, it fixed the Sword Brothers glitch, and PS4 is a port of the PSP version so all the patches that were there are on PS4 too
(You must first have beaten the game in order to be able to aquire it) sun/moon stone +5 luck, lapiz luzuli +20, ring of arcana (lowers drop rate of rare items), alucart mode +30 luck (wear alucart sword, shield, and mail).
Actually, you can beat the game and still not be able to get the RoV... If you start a game, don't beat it, start another game and beat it, then go back to the first one again, you still can't get it because it has to be a REPLAY file or you can't get it... I just figured that out in my stream and follow up vid

You can do back forwards attack with the fist of tulkas in midair, and you stay stationary in midair while the attack pays out

The sword doesn't have to be at level 50 to do the gem trick. I did it at level 1.

I spent 3 hours farming in the reverse royal chapel farming for the vopal blade with luck potions and got nothing. But i did get 6 kingstones

You need a "clear save" (defeated Dracula once) to be able to drop it.

It should work cause all versions are just ports from the original game.
