A day after Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh was suspended by the Big Ten, the Wolverines ground out a 24-15 win at Penn State. We really mean GROUND. Michigan threw only eight times and thanks to a pass interference penalty that wiped out one throw, the Wolverines officially ran 32 consecutive times to finish the game.
Penn State's offense was dreadful in crunch time, and the Nittany Lions now must live with being a notch below Ohio State and Michigan for yet another season.

I am a long time Wolverine alumni and fan. I never hated Ohio State, it was the best rivalry in the nation. But at this point, I am so angry with the treatment that Michigan has receieved in the BIG I want them to leave the conference. My Wolverines are not a fire hydrant for the rest of the conference to relieve themselves on -- considering that Michigan and OSU are responsible by far for a great share of the revenue generated. The treatment that Harbaugh receieved by being made aware of his suspension on the airplane flying into State College is inexcusable. I am willing to quit THE GAME if this is what will come to, and I am not the only fan to think like this now. If not the ACC or the SEC, we have enough clout to go independent now if we have to. I hope Ohio State gets the message and can convey our infuriation to the rest of the BIG.
Unfortunately Ryan Day was the lead in calling for Coach Harbaugh's suspension. The HATE coming from the OSU side has been there for years and is unbelievable.

Ryan Day, despite a great record as a head coach, will definitely be on the hot seat if he loses in 2 weeks in Ann Arbor, which looks likely right now.
Don’t get me wrong, I can’t stand Ryan Day. He turned Urban Meyer’s very complete football team into a stable of thoroughbred race horses that prefer not to get too tired or dirty.
He’s a finesse coach, but gets pissed off when you point it out. Dude, no one made you run a jet sweep on 4-1 against Indiana and get stuffed; that’s everything anyone needs to know about you.
He has no clue how to develop any player who isn’t a QB or a WR, which is why he’s lost this year watching McCord not be CJ Stroud.
Worst, he is responsible for introducing woke cancel culture into the Big10. He can’t beat Michigan on the field, so he instead launches a media campaign to bring them down. Yeah, he has his $9m paycheck to protect; that’s true. But regardless that’s just weak, and I’ll never respect weak, whiny, spineless backstabbing BS like that.
2-time UM alum here. UM won in spite of the cowardly move by the B1G commissioner, who made a bad decision in giving in to pressure from the other B1G coaches and AD's worse by waiting to announce it until the UM plane was in the air! Kudos to Pres. Ono and the AD! #GOBlue

He’s not
He's a horrible coach. They've had a lot of very talented teams in his 10 years and should have made at least 1 playoff if not several. Especially since they're always the darlings of the media until they play Michigan and Ohio. But he has never been able to get over the hump and win the big game.
After the scandals there, finishing with 9 or 10 wins was enough, but after a decade, he has to get better, but he's just not capable. He isn't able to make in game adjustments and will never win the big games.

I thought it was strange to hear Day and Franklin were pushing so hard for punishment. At the end of the day they still have to play a very talented Michigan team. Franklin today played a Michigan team without a head coach and without a sign stealer guy in front of 100,000+ of his own fans and lost. At least if Harbaugh was there he could say he got out coached by the guy that’s back to back B1G champion. Now he got out coached by a guy that found out he was going to be the head coach yesterday.

Michigan is clearly a top team, but this win told me more about Penn State than it did about Michigan. Penn State has no offense! For me Michigan is exactly what I thought they were and that didn't adjust one way or the other.
You saw a completely different Michigan team today so I don't know what you think you know about Michigan.
Penn State is a top 10 team that came close to beating Ohio State in Columbus with a very young quaterback. Penn State is an excellent defensive team, and on the cusp of being a top 5 team when theirquaterback gains some experience. I would not discount Michigan's victory today -- they won by more (granted, one point) than Ohio State did at home against Penn State.

I'm a Buckeyes fan and in my opinion, it wasn't an All-World performance by michigan and once again James Franklin is a questionable big game-day coach. Harbaugh not being on the sidelines wasn't much of an impact or negative. On game day the coordinators are more important IMO. This team has been around for a couple of years now so Harbaugh standing there or not I felt good about michigan winning this one. Good win for michigan and again, another Saturday at State College in a big game with questionable game-day execution brought to us like only James Frank can deliver #GoBucks

For penn state to have to go for it on 4th down that many times during the game just tells you how good Michigan really is. I’m a regular set game teams don’t do that unless they know they are not the better team. Just think if the punted the ball 2 more times to Michigan what the score would look like.
Not uncommon for CJF. He doesn't seem to understand a missed 4th down is a turnover by him. He leads the team in turnovers 😅
4th and 6 from his own 30 was just dumb. He had about 5 minutes left, a few timeouts and was only down one score. UM held and went up two scores on the next play. Game over.

The scored wasnt indicitive of how well the Mich. D played. They were only able to score either of those TD's when they were going for it on fourth down. End of the half coming up, no reason to not go for it, and twice they had fourth down.

I haven’t even seen the T-formation in a while. It’s like we played elementary football against you guys and OSU. Your defense definitely had an impact but it was also our offense just being shit.
UM's O-line is definetely a step down from last year. Just 8 passes...? Perfect opportunities for Playaction that would have picked up huge chunks. It's simple football chess. I just don't understand. It had to either be Harbaugh not being there or JJ has an arm/shoulder that's not 100% and they're trying to hide it. 8 passes? That's unheard of for this UM team.

They did it to prove a point. For 3 weeks we've been told that knowing whether a team is going to pass or run is a huge advantage. Everyone knew Mich was going to run and psu has the top rush defense. If this narrative we've had shoved down our throats is right, psu should've easily stopped them, but they didn't.
Michigan proved it is capable of beating a top 10 team without using their best player and without "stealing" signs.

Nobody runs the ball 32 times unless they have to run the ball 32 straight times. The WR's could not get separation from the DBs. 24 points and 32 straight runs will not get it done in the playoffs!
James Franklin made some extremely questionable calls. Going for 2 early really hurt his team later on. He could’ve punted only down 7 with just under minutes left in the game and had a chance for a stop and score.
Alumni are over it. The amount of money paid to coaches salary and they can't beat Michigan and Ohio State, the only 2 games that matter each year. All fellow alumni should be asking for coaches heads. Starting with Franklin. Michigan didn't need a coach to beat us, we need a new coach.

You had to watch to understand. PSU’s last TD came off a rightfully reversed INT and a dumb unsportsmanlike penalty by Mi, which our PSU in favorable field position.
PSU’s other td was pretty remarkable as they converted 2 4th downs.
Michigan simply looked very calculated sticking to the run game and they ripped PSU apart. The impressive PSU d- line looked soundly defeated by 4th quarter.

Michigan gave up a TD after the game was decided. They dominated the game and then let up a bit to make sure they would win (PSU had to dink and dunk wasting too much time to have time for another drive).
