Thank you Jream so much for taking the time to visit us and film this lesson with us!!! 👍🏻 🎉 Everyone, please do us a favor and subscribe to her channel: ruclips.net/user/KoreanJream 😃
And an important note: we made a typo in her name at 0:01 because her last name is not Kim. Sorry Jream for changing your family name without your consent 😢🤦🏻‍♂️ We'll have your name correctly displayed in Part 2, which is another reason that everybody should watch the follow-up video!

I am 75 and decided, durid Covid, to learn something difficult that would tax my brain. My grandson introduced me to TTMIK while he was studying his 1st year degreee at university. I'm totally absorbed by this language and have immersed myself in the book TTMIK level one as well as watching all the kdramas, listening to all Korean music on spotify and tuning on to Korean news. I find it all fascinating and well worth all the hours I spend. I'm up to lesson 16 and loving every minute. Thank you for helping with your youtube programmes.

Actually 배가 아프다 is one I really didn't expect! I've learned Korean for a while but always assumed that as an idiomatic expression that would mean something else (probably because I've never seen the full idiom!) As I get more advanced this type of video is really interesting for me hehe 재미있는 영상을 만들어 주셔서 감사합니다~~~~

맞아요!!! ‘배가 아프다’는 그냥 배 아프다는 뜻으로 많이 쓰이죠! 재미있게 봐 주셔서 감사합니다! 🥰 I can see how its idiomatic usage is surprising BECAUSE we use its literal meaning so much from the beginning level! 😀 Idioms become so useful as you advance, so I am happy to hear the video was fun to you! 😍

I like this method of learning Korean.
Back when I used to go to church for Korean School I LOATHED every mili-second of it.
We had to literally write down each of the alphabets 500x and combine the words and such then kind of translate what the words we made (I think). But in the hindsight, I should've been more patient back then.

I really didn't expect that "배가 아프다" means "I'm jealous". In Japan, we often say "I have a stomachache/abdominal pain (배가 아프다, お腹が痛い)" when we hear the funny story that makes us laugh so mach that the abdominal muscle hurts. Alternatively, we say "I feel tightness in my stomach (위가 쓰리다, 胃が痛い)" when we feel nervous.

For those of us who still have to sound out our Hangul, It would be so much easier if you left the expression visible while you talk about it. Nice lively conversation though.

I didn’t notice it at first either, but it moves up into the upper right corner, pretty small and not the easiest to see but it’s there ^^

Ibe chhimi marueda. That one. There's a similar idiom in bangla aswell. The literal meaning is that bubbles have started forming in your mouth. It's so funny in Translation lol
