There is no good reason why this video does not have the view count that it deserves. This is the best tribute I've seen in years
I should say it. I love prequel trilogy just as much as I love the original trilogy!! This is the part of my childhood (I was 12 when the "Phantom Menace" came out, and I was literally blown away by it!) And also these are great movies!! The original trilogy is great, and when I watch the prequel trilogy, it shows a vivid and broad world that Empire usurped afterwards (I know, I sound a bit too much of a fan here),which makes the whole saga so dramatic, that there is no other movie to be compared with it for me. In the prequel trilogy a story of Anakin is told (its a very tragic and, in the same time, a very beautifully told story), so many great characters (like Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu and many others). If you love all 6 episodes of the Saga, and you love the way the prequel trilogy was told and shown, please support it!
Amen
I agree as well. I'm absolutely fine people didn't like these movie I understand why, but I can't stand the haters who do nothing but bash on the films and anyone who enjoys them. Let's all be fans and be kind and optimistic about the future! Don't be a hater :D
I grew up with the original trilogy, and I agree that the prequels are just as good!
I love all six of them!

I wish everyone was like you star wars fans always trash the prequels and sequels even tho I don't like the sequels I still don't trash I accept them and force awakens is a pretty good movie
Epic video, I now have a new liking and respect for The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith, and a deep respect for the story of Anakin Skywalker in general.
Thank you
People give the Prequels a lot of crap, but in reality the Trilogy was flawed as well. There was bad writing in both stories, but people seem to think the Trilogy is perfect. If you're going to call out the mistakes in the Prequels, then also be able to count the mistakes in the Trilogy. To be perfectly honest, there were a greater number of mistakes in the Trilogy on more levels than the Prequels. The reason the Trilogy is regarded as better is because they are classics, much like old cars. Many older cars performed and handled like garbage even for their time, but are regarded as great simply because a few people say so.
I urge all of you to form your own genuine opinion instead of going with the crowd. It's okay to like the Prequels. Yes, Jar Jar Binks was completely unnecessary and the actor who played Anakin in The Phantom Menace was terrible, but if you can see past the mistakes then they are great movies. The majority of you seem to be able to see past the mistakes of the Trilogy, so don't be biased. If you are completely and truly unsatisfied with the Prequels, then I imagine you would be just as unsatisfied with the Trilogy if you were judging fairly.
I agree. May the Force be with you.
Martha Komiyama And you!
I agree with being consistent with the flaws in both trilogies but the prequels did a horrible job at leading into the original trilogy. also unnecessary characters and character deaths (jar jar/gungans, darth maul and qui gon should not have been killed so early in my opinion, count dooku could have either had much more potential by either replacing darth maul and/or supporting qui gon's story or was not needed at all), the emotions and themes were not as powerful as they were in the original trilogy , referring to qui gon's death in episode 1 or the jedi deaths in episode 2 and 3. where did naboo come from? was it needed? why not build off of alderaan? in my view midichlorians were not a necessary addition because it took away from the spiritual and meta physical nature of the force. battle droids weren't a good choice for the prequels, at all. fight scenes were focused more on fancy and nice-looking choreography which took too much time of the film and didn't really offer much more substance. too much emphasis on special effects. insufficient character development. i could go on and start nitpicking specific scenes or moments but i wont.
the prequels were simply condensed and watered down way too much to cater to too many types of audiences. i can assure you that most people did not think about how the prequels led into episodes 4-6 but rather judged it for its cool looking special effects and fight scenes. let me know what you found wrong with the originals i'd be happy to listen
enticingmuffin I agree with you that the prequels (especially episode 1 & 2) weren't as superior as the original trilogy. However, the story told from episode 1 to 6 is still coherent. Even if there a many blanks left in prequel trilogy, you can still follow the link between episode 1 to 6, even if the plot was difficult to follow in episode 1 and 2. On my opinion, episode 2: Attack of the Clones was the worst of all movies. I only watched it once and I won't watch it again. Episode 1 was ok, but still boring.
But episode 3 was however very good, even if it was a little rough at the edges, and it focused more on the story of Anakin instead of being all over the place like the two previous episodes. They even had to delete many scenes in this movie concerning the creation of the rebellion. Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith should have been the prequel trilogy. Many fans might not agree but the majority of the critics agree that this episode is the darkest of all episodes, even darker than episode 5: The Empire Strikes back. When I want to watch the entire saga, I always start with Revenge of the Sith, I don't need the two previous episodes.
However after having seen the entire animated series of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (which was far better than the prequel trilogy), I begin to wonder if they should have made more movies about the prequel instead of letting many blanks. I particularly loved the character of Ashoka Tano and the friendship between Anakin and Obi-Wan was much more apparent. We even see that Qui-Gon-Jinn has a more important role than what it was supposed to be in episode 1, since he has led Yoda to learn how to preserve his identity after death, And then by watching episode 3 and the original trilogy, we can perfectly understand how Obi-Wan reappered as a ghost after his death.
The prequel trilogy of Star Wars is certainly the most discussed trilogy of all time. But the entire saga (episode 1 to 6) still remains to most loved of all time.
***** I agree with and respect most of your views. See, I am not familiar at all with the expanded universe and the clone wars series so I cannot make judgement on those. Probably because I did not like the prequels at all, especially episode 2, I just did not care for the clone wars storyline. Me being the picky analytical type fan some scenes affect me in different ways than others. Let's just hope star wars 7 and up can make up for and complement the last 6 movies.
I agree with what has already been said. I don't think highly of the prequels but they do have their moments and you've brought them all out in this brilliantly edited video. The music that plays throughout is just perfect. I thought ending on Vader's breath would have been perfect and was dissapointed when it continued but the closing shots of Luke and Leia were brilliant.
I truly adore these fan edits, they make the prequels more enjoyable and interesting.
🍸🤩🍸
This is so good anyone who says the prequels suck is not a true Star Wars fan in my opinion. 1-6 is a the whole story of anakin/darthvader and the prophecy actually being completed. Great job i loved this video i love episode 3 especially, i almost watch this everyday XD !
Awesome, I'm glad you enjoy it :)
Rick Steck By his logic the prequels were good, and they were. All of the movies were good. It's just people not wanting to see the mistakes of the original Trilogy and over exaggerating the mistakes of the Prequels that make peoples opinions so black and white. The Star Wars story itself has tons of holes in the plot and writing errors, but we still enjoy them. It's upsetting to see people so grumpy about the Prequels when in reality they were no worse than the Trilogy.
Rick Steck You misunderstand me. All of the movies are terrible if you look at them all clearly. In fact, the Trilogy had more mistakes in filming and story writing than the Prequels. People just consider the Trilogy better because they grew up with it or because they're hipsters. Seeing past the mistakes in the Trilogy and micro-analyzing all of the mistakes in the Prequels is stupid and biased.
Just fast forward through Jar Jar and kid Anakin and they're enjoyable.
vader226 God, pork-mittens, you're like a religious zealot trying to convert atheists. You've talked in circles defending the prequels the exact same way in nearly every comment. The originals are flawed, we get it. Every movie's flawed. That still doesn't make the prequels better than Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back. The argument that OT audiences let their nostalgia cloud their judgment is useless because, believe it or not, there is now a nostalgic audience for the prequels, so that argument has no weight. I'm looking for an argument. Argue with me. Tell me why the prequels are good. Not WHY the originals are "just as bad."
Rick Steck If youre a Star Wars fan, you have to like The Old Republic series. You cant call yourself a fan of anything if you only like certain aspects of a franchise. For example, I love the first two Alien films, but I don't call myself a fan of the franchise. If someone likes the Expanded Universe of a franchise, then they are real fans. They don't necessarily have to like ALL the films and installments. The same goes for Star Trek. I've only watched the movies, so I'm not even close to being a real Star Trek fan. I'm just a casual viewer. That's what people who only like the Star Wars Original Trilogy and nothing else are, just casual viewers.
First off thank you megasgh52 for making this retrospective. It reminds me that, while not perfect, the prequels are just as much something to be treasured by true fans as any other part of the Star Wars universe. In the years since the prequels have been released, it seems it has become fashionable, dare I say trendy to knock and belittle them. and to say that one is not a true fan if they think the prequels are even remotely entertaining. I say nonsense. I can think of only one thing I truly did not like about the prequels and that is the idea of midiclorians. Suddenly the Force wasn't a cosmic spiritual thing that gave cohesiveness to the universe, but rather a collection of little micro organisms that hung out in your blood stream. Other than that I enjoyed episodes I through III. Introducing Anakin as a small boy was crucial to the idea of representing how someone pure and good could eventually go so dark. Jar Jar Binks was also representative of a certain kind of innocence. He and the other Gungans were to the prequels what the Ewoks were to the original trilogy. They represented the millions of innocent societies and people who were affected by those who would rule them, yet were eventually able to fight back against their oppressors.
I liked your comment, but about the thing you criticized...
As I understand it, the Force is still a cosmic spiritual thing, just as it was said in the classical trilogy, except that now we know that people feel the Force through the midiclorians. If we think about it, the phrase "the Force is strong in you" leads to the belief that some people are more proeminent than others to feel the Force, but why is it that way if the Force is something universal? Why can't Han Solo learn it at all? I think the midiclorians are a reasonable explanation to that: there's something in you that makes you more sensitive and connected to the cosmic thing that is the Force.
If you've noticed, the Force being a scientific thing instead of something omnipresent, magical and spiritual is the same way how the magic in cinema (most of it coming from the 20th century) has now been turned into something realistic or scientific - as if it's something you can quantify (most of the films in the 21st century). Kinda sad really...
I grew up with the prequels so of course, i will love them more than the OT.
Great Movies, all of them ! *_*
I loved this! John William's stellar score combined with the epic visuals of Star Wars... It makes me forget everything I hated about the prequels and changed my view on them and Star Wars as a whole. Thank you
Thank you. glad you enjoyed it :)
order 66 one of the best scenes EVer in hystoriy of FILMS IN MY OPINION AMAzing
Rick Steck
Watching the clone wars you grow up with each of those jedis, Aayla Secura and her relationship with her master quinlan vos, Plo Koon and his "father" relationship with Ahsoka (lil' Soka), Kit Fisto and his revengful apprentice, Pie Kill, Adi Gallia, Ki Adi Mundi... They grow up so much that loosing all of them feels terrible. Imagine if in the lord of the rings, ALL 9 MEMBERS OF the fellowship died at once apart Frodo. That would definity mark you.
Rick Steck In the Battle of Yavin, however, all the other pilots besides Luke, Wedge, and Biggs were just background characters as well. I didn't really feel any emotion when those un-named background characters died. Hell, I even laughed when Porkins died. Also, you should watch the Clone Wars so you can actually feel the weight and emotion of the Jedi Council members dying. They actually give them character development in that series.
That was amazing well done! bravo! Makes me want to watch them all over again!
Thank you :)
I actually got kinda teary-eyed at 15:00
Two thumbs way up! Needs too be one for the original trilogy as well.
That was pure brilliance, no Star Wars fan or even anyone can deny the fact that this video has the something that makes Star Wars what it is, thank you very much this has made my day possibly my year
"This is where the fun begins" and "I have a bad feeling about this" perfectly sum up how I felt going into the RoTS part. RoTS was the reason I clicked.
Amazing! Even better than the original trilogy retrospective! :D
The prequel- and the original trilogy are both not more or less flawed than any other movie series, depending on nothing else but individual liking. Anything else is just exaggerated flame war and we should just stop listening to it.
Let's not make the same mistake again when the third trilogy starts, people. Let's stay REAL fans.
Poke marzel Which would be a step forward for the one half of the Star Wars fandom and a big relief for the other.
Oh the feels. I teared up three separate times. How can some movies do that?
This vid came out on my birthday! And I'm a huge Star Wars fan! This is awesome!
this is incredible! probably one of my favorite star wars videos i've ever seen! really awesome job!! I just went through a bunch of your vids and i gotta say i love what you're doing! keep up the good work! I can't wait to see some new stuff from you!! :)
Thank you, really appreciate it :)
Bravo sir! You put all of the best parts of the prequels in this.
That made the prequels awesome!!!
So awesome, beautiful, excelent, loved it. In my favorites list now!
Beautyfull, it is...!! I'm exiciting on the sequel Retrospective! Thank you
I honestly still don’t know why anyone would hate the prequels. They are my fav 3 Star Wars movies. Because of the characters, like anakin, young Obi wan, Padmé, mace Windu, the clones, etc. And I like how it shows the times before the empire, and Luke Skywalker. And they gave me a better perspective of the Jedi.
Yep
Star Wars prequals was part of my childhood,so its good to see that someone is finally not bitching on them and tell how they was bad,but actually tell what he likes on them.Yes,old trilogy was better and there is a lot of things I criticize on prequels....but there is a lot of things I love on them too.Anyway great work, man.I hope I will see more of these....
Nice video
Thank you
...This whole thing just kept giving me _chills_. Excellently, done!

Nice work ;) Thanks for the dédicace
Thank you for the inspiration :). I put this video as a video response on your SW retrospective so if people are still asking you to do the prequels, you can just share mine and get them out of your hair lol.
Excellently made, just as Syncopy's original trilogy video was. :)
This is some quality stuff! Thanks for the upload!
Great stuff!
Great job this was a really cool video
Thank you
Dude, amazing!!
+Andrew Casini Thank you :)
Thank you
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it :)
this is epic !!!! i got tears in my eyes when i came to 12:06 - 17:13
mate, you have made a big star wars fan very happy ;) so beautiful ;)
Very happy to hear this, glad you enjoyed it :).
killer video. posting it on my blog, along with the other video u linked to
Thank you :)
Awesome!! We'll done.
Thank you
Great work! The Prequels are far from perfect, but I like people who can still see the good aspects of them. :)
Bro even the OT is far from perfect
I Agree, I Admit I can spend Hours tearing the Phantom menace to pieces, but there are thing's I Do find myself liking through out the trilogy
15:19 got to me X'(
I think you now have to include The Clone Wars as part of the overall Prequel Saga.
Thank you :)
I love Star Wars. The whole saga
Yes :)
STARWARS = The Best Movies in history
George Lucas = Genius
The phantom menace one was the best even though I don't like the phantom menace as much as I like episodes 2-6 this video is epic duel of the fates oh my god it makes me love the phantom menace
Man they really need to be remade, just to iron out and fix the errors, then we would have some great films and get them in line with the Clone Wars animated series
They are brilliant yust the way they are!
I find I like the prequels more than most, cos those are the ones I grew up with. I will probably be more critical of the sequel trilogy though, cos I will be older
This is really good but if I were to give some constructive criticism I would have to say..
-Fade out the audio slightly so we don't here the reverb cut abruptly
-Work on your pacing, if you take it a little slower with quieter music in sentimental or serious parts it will greatly increase the amount you engage the viewer
Other than that I loved it!
I think adding a few more lines from Sidous about saving Padme would've made it more dramatic.
Thank you and I agree, I myself can only bare with "ROTS", the rest I really can't take seriously.
Did you just turn the horrible mess that is the prequels into something cool (in this form)?
Yeah I believe you did! Great job!!!
:)
Thank you :)
Don´t insult the prequels pls
Joe Boss, the prequels are fantastic the fact you are in love only with the original trilogy doesn't make the prequels a mess.
RedTomatoeWOT
Yarbels... in vinegar!
Everything just so you don't have to accept the fact that the prequels aren't that bad at all, right pal? ;)
Well, I kinda dislike the prequels, but since you put it this way... It actually looks pretty epic. The films I cannot watch because they are quite joyless, but your video here is awesome!
Wow you make them seem kind of good. And they good have been good if we had a relatable protagonist.
You should make your own video for the original trilogy as well, be cause you did a magnificent job with this video about the prequels :D
Thank you but I don't think I could do any better than the one Syncopy did. You can view his in the description if you haven't already seen it.
I already have and I've also watched the one Syncopy did for the prequels, and to be honest I liked yours better.
No, seriously, you should do one for the original trilogy too. Sorry if I'm being annoying n.n
I prefer the both of them, I love the whole Star Wars saga.
I assure you that you're not the only one, even though that's not my case but I sort of understand why don't you like it.
I wish RUclips had
Great vid! Though you have the music a little too loud in relation to the dialogue. Next time tone it down a bit.
Make a clone wars one!
the music of the minute 0:02
force theme
So in essence, this is the Star Wars-versjon of the Lost-episode "Across the Sea"?
what is the song at 15:03?

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PHANTOM MENACE IS THE BEST BY FAAAR
Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones was the worst one.
For me it was 100x better than phantom menace
@@AyanKhan-og3sd Not in the slightest. The Phantom Menace is a way better film than Attack of the Clones, in fact it's quite underrated.
@@arzn253 ok your opinion i like Attack of the clones phantom menace was very boring for me but it still was better than the sequels especially the last jedi infact AOTC is overhated while TPM is just underrated
You were 'inspired'? By what? Was there anything inspired in these godawful prequels?
Jaydon Dunn You get to use the internet in kindergarten?
Jaydon Dunn Children gonna use that phrase.
Such a weak story, bad scrip and CGI that makes them look like cartoons. Pity a real pity that he made them instead another director!
By the way your video highlights the 17 good minutes in them which you could never do with the original trilogy because there every minute is as important.
Originals - the whole story is "good guys vs bad guys".
Prequels - the complex story about rise of Palpatine and fall of Anakin.
"weak story" SURE, BUDDY, SURE, OT fanboys never stop to amaze me... because of their stupidity. You probably werent even around for the time, when prequels came out, otherwise you would know, that they had the best CGI of their time.
And finally - you can be happy now! Star Wars have another director now! What do you prefer - lazy remake of New Hope by Jar Jar Abrams, or just a shitty, boring movie with 49% audience rating by Rian Johnson? Or maybe a Han Solo spinoff, that definitely wont fail, because nobody cares about it?
OT fandom - the worst fanbase of all times.`
Thank you
Thank you, Glad you enjoyed it :)
Thank you :)
