- A video of three unique EDH decks that each revolve around a weird gimmick.
Decks:
Inga Auras Deck: archidekt.com/decks/7502771/i...
Derevi Hivemind Shenanigans Deck: archidekt.com/decks/7429841/d...
Codie, Split Spell Slinger Deck: archidekt.com/decks/7502915/c... - Игры
Wicked awesome video friend! But having decklists or links to Archidekt or Moxfield or whatever you use digitally to build these monstrosities would make the sweetness even sweeter. Thanks for the effort!
Good Idea! I've just added complete deck lists for the three decks in the description of the video. Enjoy!
yea this codie deck is scratching my jank itch forsure, one thing ima do from my experience playing codie other ways, I will use all the bounce lands since your main goal is to get to 4 mana to cast codie. Having all these bounce lands really helps smooth out your land drops and lets u keep greedier hands!
As a fellow eternal dominion player i love your take on it with hive mind, im building that thing asap
Bro, these decks are wild (in a good way). They look really fun and seem to have the "right" amount of jank.
This deck is too big brain for me to understand but I absolutely adore it. We need so much more jank like this in commander instead of Kenny deck #999999999.
I'm interested in trying out the split cards deck but I noticed fuse says it only works from hand which I assumed meant it wouldn't work with Jadzi's ability? If there's a way around that or I'm mistaken I'd love to know :)
Fuse as an ability only applies when casting the spell from your hand, so Jadzi wouldn't let you cast a spell for it's fuse cost off the top. You would have to choose one side or the other. There have actually been more split spells printed since I made this video, so I'm sure the deck could be much more consistent than it is now.
I forgot to mention you would also replace polymorph with Reality Scramble, it makes the deck able to recover much more reliably.
@@StragetyMTG Okay cool thanks, I'll give it a shot!
These are the most ridiculous deck ideas I've ever seen. Lol. They're fantastic.
I don't understand your commander choice for the licid deck - it doesn't seem to synergize much, and adding another color would give you more licids! Maybe I'm missing something. 🤷
btw, You're not wrong about copying modal spells. 👍 Oh, and you should link decklists!
I built the deck to be monoblue as a challenge to myself. It definetly would be stronger with an additional color, and I actually built a blue white version before this but felt like it was TOO consistent. The mindset behind choosing Inga as the commander was that this deck finds it fairly easy to protect your creatures from targeted removal after you cast a bunch of auras in blue, because a lot of them give hexproof, ward, shroud, phasing, totem armor and more. I noticed that the deck was vulnerable to boardwipes however, because they often get around the aura protection for my creature, and then my hand would be empty because I committed all the auras already. Inga doesn't add to the strength of the deck, but she helps to cover the weakness, which is having no cards in hand after a boardwipe. Plus, I love an underdog, and Inga is notoriously awkward to build a deck around. She worked here so I ran with it. Thank you for your kind words!
@@StragetyMTG Awesome. I definitely respect challenges and don't love "optimizing" your deck, just wanted to know the reasoning behind Inga. And you're right - she's notoriously awkward to build around. Haha.
Thanks for taking the time make the video, and for your robust reply! As a sign of appreciation, I'll tell you about a janky combo that I have in my Noyan Dar deck - He animates Contested War Zone, and then casts Mirrorweave; turning all creatures into Contested War Zones (Which AREN'T creatures because modifications don't get copied, I'm sure you already know through your Inga deck experience. Haha) Anyway, then you just hit each opponent with your creature-land(s), take all their "contested war zones", and at end of turn they turn back into creatures! 😁
Once again, love the super janky deck ideas. Make sure to share more if you make any.
@@Belena711 Wow! One of my video ideas I was working on was cards that I wish I could figure out how to build around, and Contested War Zone was on the list! I was struggling to figure out how to turn my opponents lands into copies of it. It's awesome that you made it work! My play group's never going to see it coming 😁
