Do it. Kids will quickly learn both languages and it will enable them to learn other languages as they grow up. One big barrier will be broken right at home with minimal effort(seemingly), and that is communication.
I work in an international bilingual kindergarten (English/german) and as a teacher/carer in childcare we always encourage parents to speak to their kids in their native language and the kids will learn other languages (like German or English) at kindergarten. I raise my kids speaking English at home and they learn German at school. I feel bad that I didn’t teach my sons Shona (even though I didn’t grow up speaking Shona myself) properly as they were growing up but they do know the odd word here and there. 😃
2024, People, babies are like sponges. They pick up everything. If you had started speaking your language to your children when they were newborns, they would have master your language by now. This one RUclipsr speaks French. I told her to speak to him while he's newborn. He just turned one and speaks French "mom" and English from his dad. It's not hard.

Yes! Thank you for the encouragement!
Your parenting approach is good as your girls will be prepared for the world at large. Keep on doing what you're doing.👍
