Same bro I just graduated & I was working a new 18$/hr job canvassing and it had no correlation to my interests but I got it for being bilingual. Essentially after a month of trying and having decent success in it internally I was getting up every morning dreading it and it’s a job that required you to be high energy and convincing. Essentially TLDR; Job was paying good but my mental state was slowly messing up & I had no interest. I spoke to my friend who dual enrolled and she graduated with her AA in something and she has 2 years of local college but after being in it and succeeding she realizes it’s not interesting her at all. The point is don’t let society set your standards or preferences. Take calculated risks & always try to progress. If you have a passion for something look into as much as possible and never settle for less.

I still remember my 10th grade English project where we had to write a research paper about our dream job. I chose firefighter, everyone looked at me like "you're gonna be a firefighter? you're too small, you know how terrible it pays? you're gonna get cancer." I ignored it and continued on with the project and actually got to interview some local firefighters who were more than happy to explain to me why they love their jobs. It's not because they make bank, its because they enjoy the sense of satisfaction that it brings, knowing that you helped someone out on the worst day of their life. All the other kids choosing 'doctor, lawyer, salesman' had nothing to say except that their jobs payed well. I still intend on fulfilling my dream to become a firefighter with the St Louis FD.

There's no "set" path in life and you aren't "wasting time" when you are trying to get on the path that you think will fulfill you in the future. Just because it takes time and you are making decisions that other normies aren't making, doesn't mean it's wrong in any way.

I NEEDED TO HEAR THIS TODAY. I've been dealing with a lot since I stopped going to school due to all the stuff that happened with me and my classmates. I still remember the days when doing the work and going to class got progressively draining. I was going to get a degree in applied gaming only to not be able to find a job for game creating in my area. My only other dream is to be a music artist. So around fall I'll be going back to study music.

Heyy just know that you will make it!!! You just have to stay committed, and trust me, if you are absolutely committed and devoted to what you wanna do and who you wanna become, you will eventually end up getting there. Trust the process and believe in yourself. Try not to think negatively and have self doubts cuz they usually tend to distract you from your goals and ambitions. All the best, just know that I believe in you. ❤️😊🙌

I myself am currently going through the phase of not knowing what I wanna be when I'm an adult. I used to always avoid people when they asked me the simple question: "what do you wanna be when you grow up". Ever since I first had been confronted by the question, I was getting anxious and on rare occasions breathed heavily as I really did not know what I wanna become. And in my 2nd year of high-school, it really reinforced that feeling of still not know who I am and what I want to pursue in life.
It is like everyone around me is certain of who they want to become as their hopes and wishes are like that of bonfires, and I happened to be around those bonfires to get some warmth. But at the same time, those bonfires will extinguish later on and I will return to the cold wind that is leaving me with the same question over and over again: who do I wanna become.
I'm still in my pursuit of finding that out.

honestly completely disagree my friend.. no hate at all, but getting a higher education was one of the best decisions I made in my life. you really can’t understand it until you go through it dude… I don’t think it’s a good plan to motivate people to not get a higher education, there’s much more to it than just learning about engineering, business, science, etc. there is a whole experience out there that you have no idea about because you decided against it. respect either way, but don’t try to convince people to not further their education. being a doctor, or having a master’s is one of the most fulfilling things in life, not just because of the title, but because of the work that you put in to get to that place… you learn things that you never would’ve if you didn’t pursue that path. love you bro, but there is more to it than just ending up with a title or a job you don’t like. things change for people after highschool, obvious no one knows what they want then, but stuff happens and people become more than just ‘sheep’. it’s hard to understand, but trust me, don’t spread this message man…

Some people make investing complex, but it can be easy. The best way to get rich by investing is to invest and hold. Don't invest money that you can't live without.

I am sad I went to college, even though it is in the exact direction I want to go in. I simply knew what I wanted to do since I was 13 and have been doing it since. Nothing college can teach me anymore after doing it for 5 years straight.
For few people, college is a blessing because it teaches them what they want to know.
For almost everyone, it is a curse, only spending money on something that you'll hate anyway.
For almost no one, college is useless because they already know everything.
I truly am blessed to be in that last category, I hope you're either in the first or last, and otherwise I hope you find what you love asap and pursue that.

I hope you feel success to know that you are MY inspiration and have officially told me words of relatability and no I’m not a mindless sheep but thinking for myself I Know that you are a rare role model.
    Stuff about you reading this:
sorry to keep anyone reading this’ time but now that you have read this know that “we are all the main character of our own story” but the quote doesn’t end there, no because you have to remember that just because everyone else is a side character, don’t enhance your ego and it’s a tricky one, I’m not the best person to convince you but in my opinion the best thing someone can tell you is:
    Keep going.
That’s right, I’m leaving this comment here, as abstract as it is, but maybe take my message as I don’t know a guide line and take it as the way you want to take my words.

The thing is that lucid’s case is of the exception. I haven’t looked at statistics or anything but I can almost definitively say that most college dropouts do not become as successful as lucid. The only perspective lucid has of being a college dropout is being a successful one, so he doesn’t know what normally happens to college dropouts.

Well, the defenition of success differs from person to person. Second, if a person is super committed and determined, nothing can stop him/her from succeeding. I think people fail because of their lack of commitment to success. And also, just because a person has a high paying job, it doesn't mean they are successful (financially yes, but what about other aspects such as emotional and mental health and well being and fulfillment). We, as a society need to redefine success.

In India, my parents and most of the other parents pressurize their kids to study and only study and get themselves a job.
Two or three months ago I asked my parents if they could buy me a guitar coz the instrument fascinates me, I just like the sound of the vibrations of those strings, but the moment I asked my father about that he told me immediately that if he got me a guitar, I would stop focusing on my studies. And just like that my dream of learning to play guitar was ruined and I just don't feel like doing anything out of the box anymore because I know that my parents and society will be there to stop me. And it's not just this episode of me asking my parents to get me a guitar. I've wanted to do numerous other things but this tradition of study or nothing has ruined everything for me.
