The 4 arms are interesting if I'm being honest and I personally am really excited to dive into the collage of creation subclass one day as well as the possibility of the Tal'dorei subclasses I think these subclasses paired with the thri kreen have so many possibilities

I think anything really unusual works really well. The psionic classes pair well lore wise. Being able to create with magic as a creation bard I think that works too. It’s unusual and strange and that coincides will with them. I mean if an alien bug creature turned something like a chair into a living entity it would make more sense to me than if Jeff the guitarist did.

    Hello SH.
The last time I played a Thri-Kreen was back in the old 3.0 days. That particular character found the party on his own and joined them when they 'invaded' his desert land habitat, where he was a Ranger-Fighter class. I thought that was a good class for a Thri-Kreen that lived in the vast deserts of the un-mapped Great Southern Deserts.
The adventure was to deal with an invasion of insects and insect-like monsters flowing northwards out of the desert lands. The Ranger was already tracking down the source of the problem himself when he encountered the party.
TLDR: The problem was a Queen of the Ant-People. A race similar to the Thri-Kreen, that had encountered an evil wizard of high level that had cursed the Queen. The hive went to war to find the cure for the curse. With ant warriors on the move, anything else would be pushed ahead of their search, and thus the displacement of native life of the deserts into the more fertile lands of the north.
The party found a 'cure' for the Queen and the ants returned to their hive, in the end. Basically, the party had to find a particular Paladin to use a special 'Remove Curse' upon the Queen to 'solve' the quest. As a part of the adventure, the party fought quite a few ant warriors and various desert monsters, and in the end had a trade deal with the Hive to bring certain foods, especially Honey, to the Hive, in exchange for gold that the Hive found no use for other than adornment.
Just an old memory from the late 70s and early 80s.
BTW: the adventure ran for several months in real time, playing about 3 weekends a month, with a total gaming time of around 160 or so hours.

That’s a great campaign. I find that I love longer campaigns better than one shots or short ones. I really enjoy getting involved with the other characters and falling in love with my own as well as others.
I also like the idea of being so close to the enemy that the party has reason to distrust you.

@@TheSinisterheroes : There WERE several occasions where my Ranger had to do things that the Party didn't like. At one point, the Ranger forced the Party NOT to attack an Ant Army group. Although this 'saved' the Party, it did foster some suspicion. I just kept playing the Ranger as I felt he would have done, regardless of the Party's opinion. In the end, my Thri-Kreen Ranger was respected for his compassion for other races, but feared because he had no compunctions about wiping out the Party if that was what it took to resolve the issue. The two best supporters of my Ranger were the Party's ranger, and surprisingly, the Dwarf cleric.

I like characters and players that are willing to make choices on the fly. Do what they believe is best and take responsibility for there actions no matter the suspicious behavior. I totally support it!!
They also tend to be my favorite characters

I played a thri-kreen ranger that was an emotionless bounty hunter using the hunter subclass and man it was great

I played a thri-kreen psi warrior soul knife rogue and kept my secondary hands free to throw psychic knives on a bonus action and be able to hold a shield and another weapon. It was so fun to play a flying locust. I jumped and flew 60 feet to a flying target attacked a bunch of times and flew back 60 feet to my starting point. Dex heavy is the way to go.

That’s my two favorite subclasses for a thri kreen. I think the psionics make a lot of sense for them! Here I am juggling either or and your killing it with both!!

I’ve got a rogue in my spelljammer group that’s Thri-Kreen.
Pretty cool race, but it’s kind of standard fare as far as rogues go. Nothing too unusual, yet.

Oh yeah they compliment the rogue very well. I can see where your mind is though. I personally wish they had a toxic bite, but I kinda wish everyone has a toxic bite.

@@TheSinisterheroes just a fan of creepy crawlies. I also just like weird things that add role playing opportunities. In my old age (50) I'm moving from full on murder hobo to really enjoying the roleplay.

Is that from 3rd edition? In 5e they were in spell jammer. Which is where I started the video from.
I started playing 3.5 but I didn’t know the lore or the world that well.
