In this video, we escape the bustling city of Bangkok and head north to the serene, misty mountains of Chiang Dao. Nestled deep in the heart of the jungle, we spend a night at a hidden treehouse accommodation, surrounded by lush greenery and panoramic views of the towering mountains shrouded in mist. The tranquility of this remote retreat provides the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable experience, offering a unique connection with nature far away from the usual tourist paths.
Our adventure continues as we visit a scenic riverside café, where the gentle flow of the river and the sounds of the forest create a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for a moment of reflection. Despite the rain, we embark on a hike to a nearby waterfall, the journey through the jungle adding to the excitement and beauty of the experience. The hike is filled with rich sights and sounds, as the rain enhances the vibrancy of the forest and the waterfall itself gushes with energy.
On the journey back, things take an unexpected turn as we encounter landslides and flooding on the mountain roads. Navigating through these natural challenges brings a sense of adventure and unpredictability to the trip, showcasing the raw power of nature in this region. Despite the obstacles, this experience reminds us of the resilience required to explore the more remote and hidden corners of Thailand, making this journey one to remember.

It’s wonderful Paddy!! You have kinda inspired me to start posting videos here and help people… wish me luck! 🍀 Not gonna lie though… we need to see you go on an a long adventure on Zelda… maybe China..
Hey Paddy, is this area high up in the mountains also heavily effected from wood fires and crop burnings? or is the popular pollution issue more an CM city thing... thanks a lot :)
Thats grand, the bag is stunning, i was surprised how much you can pack inside, really woow👍
Hey Paddy i was at the treehouse hideaway last year and there is definetly a proper waterfall- but in the middle of the jungle!
@@cassiepitchford5488 How do you get there? On foot? How far is it from the road?
Oh man! I used to live in Thailand for just over 10 years. Been back in Germany for longer than I was living in Thailand. It’s alright now, but for the first two years I was back I couldn’t watch any documentaries about it without tearing up. I really miss this place. As soon as your video started I got this funny feeling again. Best 10 years of my life and I consider Thailand to be as much my home as I do Germany!
Hope to welcome you back to the land of smile. ❤😊❤
@siripornpetcharatana6736 thanks, mate!
so sorry for you, but I can feel so well, me the same,,,,always so sad when have to come back to f...b....Germany during last 20 years and always happy when hanging the next flight ticket on wall ,,,Asia will be ever the continent of my heart and I hope for 2025 :-)
@Sterntaler58 🙂
why moved back
I am a Thai who likes to live with nature, what you do in this video is sure that there are many Thai people who will support you because Thai people will like natural and quiet things.
I can't wait to get there! It looks so peaceful. I love that the Thai people say "mai pen rai" about situations, and just live life with as little stress as possible. We sure can learn from them! Thanks for another great video :)
One of your best videos over the past two years. What a beautiful treehouse! Best wishes to all the people in these overflooded regions from sweden ❤❤❤
09:52 A caramel latte in a bamboo café by the river? Sign me up! This whole experience feels so serene and magical-definitely a hidden gem in Chiang Mai! ☕🌿
Sitting here in Florida with no power no ice no food after hurricane Milton, thanks for some peaceful surroundings
Stay safe man!
Sorry to hear that

Paddy, I don't know how your videos could get any better. You have become a master of your craft! I enjoy your videos so much. Thailand has my heart....
I couldn't agree with you more!
@@randomrachael420 ditto. Doyle be starting a wildlife channel next just to challenge himself.
Wow, thank you
Amen really
Outstanding. We love you Paddy. Keep doing what you're doing. Still hoping to bump into you around BKK
This video clip is excellent.😍 You bring the hidden gems of Thailand out.
Chaing Dao is beautiful. My wife is from there she’s Hilltribe Lisu. There are many Lisu & Lahu villages on the mountain. I go regularly as my daughter goes to school up there.
Loved the guy just holding up the cables so you could ride under them! Bangkok Airways doing an excellent job there too. 👏
We just left Chaing Mai. It’s so beautiful there!
Now we’re in Samui for 23 days.
Thank you Paddy for helping us decide our trip here. Your videos were so helpful!
I love Thailand! It's been my home for the last 20 years.
Do you speak Thai? Can I ask what you do for work there?

I lost my dog after 15years the same day you posted this video. I’m from Sydney and it’s raining today as I’m watching this again. Thank you for the calm vibes Paddy 😢
My deepest condolences go out to you.
Sorry for your loss 😢
Loved that tree house.I used to go to Thailand 30-20 years ago.Spent 12 weeks there in total.Even went to the mountains near Chiangmai Mai.
Then Vietnam in the early 2000’s .Touring with some monks doing ceremonies for 8 weeks.
Still love that part of the world.Thanks.
Different breed live on mountains. Tough, resilient & harmonious with nature. Nice video & nice music. Congrats👍
A beautiful location even in the rain. I love Thailand
Watching a more mature looking Paddy, a calmer Paddy, reminded me how long I've been following your journeys. Only the brave would venture up in the Chiang Dao mountains during this wet season. Nature has no regard for our hectic schedule. You handled this moment beautifully. Whereas some others would have spat the dummy promising to never return to Thailand 😅
Nice video, Paddy. I bumped into you once at BKK. Was so tripped out because I knew I knew you, but didn't know how. Later I realized! Anyways, this was great content. Too bad about the floods.
I think one the nicest things about being up there is the sound of the birds and wildlife, beautiful place
The rainy season is always beautiful for me.
That was just so beautiful Paddy 💚 Ray and I loved every moment..but you did have me on the edge of my seat a few times! xx
Fantastic episode Paddy, I loved it! ❤
That's one awesome, yet super tranquil piece of video. Cudos for sharing such real adventure...🙏🙏
Absolutely beautiful, thank you for the video 😊
Wow.........I stayed at the same guesthouse at the end of August......absolutely lovely. The river down below is nice too. It was raining the whole time, but loved the staff, and the atmosphere there.
I saw you met Moo Ping the dog......
Your Thai series are the best!! Loved every minute of it!!
I climbed Doi Chiang Dao in 2003. Highly recommended. Did it early November and paid a local villager 500thb for taking me up and down. We did in in a day which was actually quite tough. 12 hrs in total with the local villager fallinga sleep at the top for a couple of hours! You can do it over 2 days & camp nr the top. The views are stunning and we were fortunate with perfect blue skies. He had a machete, a bag of sticky rice & was wearing office shoes which I thought was pretty funny!
This time so good, not so hot, no rainy, into cool weather, scenery beautiful, good time for northern in Nov-Feb😊😊.
@@suk_Qqa89 I thought the Parks Department had closed the entirety of Doi Chiang Dao, turning it into a biosphere? I hiked it multiple times during 2005-2015 then was told it was off limits.
@@kwhatten I’m think in Nov, everything more better because into winter, but for now I don’t, because in Chiangmai,Chiangrai had effect from flood damage, in city now clean and clear, but on the hill had land slide if raining, for sure next month, and the park department closed ,in normal their closed in rainy season for safety but in winter, I thought opened, because in this time into high season had many travelers to explore, so smooth, no rain, good vibe, beautiful scenery.
Just found out the Treehouse is in the valley south of the mountain and not subject to the "biosphere".
@@andythomas1693 Highly recommended ,Doi intanon nationpark, gorgeous view, royal project, Mong village, hiking activity, nice resort, big water fall, these area had trail running event every year around in Dec or Jan, so popular ,had many trail runner around the world come to join .
Loved this vid Paddy!! Under the circumstances you nailed it. We got through two weeks of crazy weather with the final flood in CM beng the most devastating. From Thapae Gate right through to Narawat Bridge and down to the Super Highway all went under. Thapae, Loi Krao Rd area, Night Market, Chang Klang, Wat Ket have been seriously devastated. Now CM is a dust bowl, the sun now drying the flood mud, turning to dust as all the trucks n pickups n cars n bikes stir it up in the cleanup. Like Covid, there will be businesses that won’t recover from this, some will, a lot won’t. Thousands of homes water damaged, piles of favorite furniture debris, line the streets, with household rubbish now rotting and stenching. We got power back, had water for two days, but no water for the next week, the mains drowned, no showers, toilet, etc, brrrrrrr . CM really has been devastated. The locals have been hit hard this time, with some saying biggest ever. So yeah, amongst the Thai Smile, they contemplate losing homes, possessions, cars, motorbikes, 3 lives confirmed,,,,,,,, their IS a vibe of despondency, how will we recover from this, some starting again from scratch, some not starting….. an air of quiet wafting anguish…. not too hard to feel……… I reckon at least 3-6 months to clean up…… some households have lost businesses and DONT have the money to fix their houses, cars motorbikes……. IMO this will impact CM for years to come. Just a CM update… lol might ride up to The Hideaway and get some of that water!!! This is my 6th yr in CM and do a lot of rural motorbike meandering. Chiang Dao, in the hills, has a real HAWAII feel to it I reckon. So resonated to your most excellent video, a glimpse into the mind of Paddy. Oh, I appreciate the technicality’s of shot set up, editing, music, narration et al, noticeably above the rest for production values. 👌
Thanks for telling folk the reality of the disaster. It's not hippy-dippy "mai pben rai" at all. Helped my wife's family slog out 6-8 cm of mud from their house, they lost all their furniture. They still aren't even the worse case compared to some. Stay OUT of that dust if you can, raw sewage mixed with good lord knows what else.
this was probably your master piece .... brilliant work. Thank you Paddy.
Brilliant video. Will be visiting the tree house next year now. Thanks
Mate, you are the g.o.a.t when it comes to travel/adventure videos! I started following you from your nightmare on the train in series 1. Covid had me in a very dark place and your videos reminded me that when it's all over there's a good life to be had. This video brings back such good memories of your original content that we all loved. I want to say thank you. I imagine you have saved, inspired and helped more people than you will ever know
Wow… cheers buddy
i dont know why but your video has magic of peace outflowing to viewers..............
Keep doing the videos with Nature...... I am sure i am one of them loving it.
Amazing that could be one of the best videos I’ve ever seen of the jungle vibe in Thailand what with the drama of the landfall as well? I was captivated fantastic loved every second might even buy a bag.😊
I love the way Thai people never let anything faze them. Thanks for taking us along on your break away, to the beautiful Chiang Dao :)
very true!
Yeah so what’s the story paddy
Glad you made it safe. Scary situation driving under those wires. YIKES!!
Welcome to Thailand , The land of smile
Will make you happy
Thank you for the smiles 😊. This video is beautiful. I recently returned from Thailand, and although my experience was different from what was depicted in the video, I fully understand the peace that comes from spending time in the mountains. Very well done!
Beauty of the mountains in the rain in serenity Sounds magical
Spectacular video! 🥰👍
I've watched your videos for awhile. You are still finding the best places in Thailand to share with us with your lovely editing and beautiful shots. One day hopefully I can visit at least a few of the places you have shared with us! You have inspired so many people, I am one of them. Thank you!
Thank you so much, my friend, for this amazing video! The picture quality is outstanding, and the vibe is truly unique. Greetings from @nami-vlog! 🌍💜💜💜👍
Great story from this magical place in nature. Nicely filmed and narrated.
You handled those obstacles in such a laidback manner.
And that was some amazing service from Bangkok Airways! Love it! 🍀👍

Lovely adventure!!
What an amazing view!!
Your motorbike adventure videos in thailand are my favourites of yours.
Simply excellent video Paddy. Perfect story telling, plus a great reaction to the natural blockage. No point worrying about something you cannot control. Quality service from Bangkok airways as well
Great video Paddy, thank you for the big effort you put in to give viewers the best feel for the places you go.. I have lived in Thailand for 25 years and I could count in your video at least 10 reasons why I would never want to live anywhere else in the world. Cheers!
Thank you for your nice video, you are the true adventurer.
Have been to Thailand 3 times but not to Chiang Mai yet! I think I'd love how much more peaceful it is
Patty, the building you observed at the "waterfall" is actually a hydroelectric plant, which generates electricity for the community. It’s not a natural waterfall; rather, it is a kind of the flow of the river source and they make a dam to convert that water into power.
I love the rain glad to be watching this adventure. So healing amazing
You make the most beautiful relaxing videos ❤❤❤❤❤... what a gorgeous country too even with all the flooding a d slides the ppl seem to calmly take it in stride..
Truly the Garden of Eden upon earth! That tree house looks so inviting! Thank-you for sharing these exquisite shots of nature with us! Greetings from Israel.
Many thanks!
thank you for this lovely video. it is so relaxing and calming to watch, as I get out of bed and ready for the day. Appreciate the background nature noise and music.
What a beautiful place to be stranded 😍! I could listen to that rain all day.
Good to see you coming back my homeland. Happy to know you could catch another flight. Wish you more fun in Thailand. One Like to this clip.
Thanks! 😃
First time on your channel .
I like your perspective and mindset towards Thailand. The neglected building nearby the tiny waterfall is actually a non-operating hydroelectric power station:) My house in Chiangmai was 2 meters flooded twice on this event. Thanks for your positive thought. :)
The senary is spectacular 👌🏽
Thanks for sharing that 🎉
Loved this peaceful, real experience… thanks for sharing sharing this with us, Paddy 😊
What you see is not an abandoned house. But it is a hydroelectric power plant in a hill tribe village. created by government agencies for villagers. 😊
We really enjoyed this video on Chiang Mai. Been missing the adventures. This one reminded us why we subscribed in the first place…the scenery and excitement of the travel and the people. Thank you!
That wasn't a house you stumbled on at the end of the "waterfall" trip☺, a bit rundown but that's a small hydroelectric power station. Beautiful video again mate!
Hello Paddy Doyle! I have never seen your channel before, but what a nice video. So relaxing, what a nice trip... even with the storm, you got an extra bonus of excitement and stories to share with your friends. Thanks so much for the video!
what a crazy story to tell Paddy! kinda mindblowing what u have captured, expirienced and shown us in this video.
Thanks for sharing that treehouse spot, the landslide filming and the awesome bkk airline service.
Plesure to watch you and your adventures!
This my first time viewing you, and only half way through i came to say what i see many others are saying. Having traveled and explored before, I'm amazed at how beautifully you have made this. It feels so real, like im there! Love your demeanor ❤. I can't wait to see more!
Great vid Paddy. Very relaxing, and an adventure to boot!
Amazing spot! Thanks buddy! 👍🏼💖🙏🏼
Great vid, adventure, surprise, beautiful area. Thank you Patty I appreciate you sharing ❤
Really enjoyed that thank you. I have many friends who live in CM thankfully non of then suffered too much with the flooding. My heart was in my throat when you were riding down from the tree house. I would have been terrified!!!!! Stay safe Nan
You still have your mojo !!!! Great story & video. Now I really miss Thailand, can't wait to get back to a better way of life. Please more videos like this one!!
What a lovely video Patty. Beautiful and adventurous.
Great video Paddy. One of your best.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful view , beautiful adventure and beautiful music.
Such a great video! That's the kind of content by you that I truly love
What a beautiful video! We miss you! More Paddy Doyle videos PLEASE!! I arrive on Saturday Oct 26 to Phuket! So excited. I love the rain….If you have to get stuck, no better place!
Love this “vintage Paddy” style video ❤🎉 reminds me of the early days!
The house you said it got abandoned where you thought it a waterfall nearby it is a power generator station, I read the sign on the top of the door, it must be water fall somewhere deep inside the forest, it could’ve been far deeper in the woods
I loved watching this, Paddy. And I felt for you when you got to that waterfall 😂 similar thing happened to me and my mom on our trip in chiang dao. Real headscratcher. You found excellent accommodation too. I can't wait to go find this place!
That was a very calm and relaxed video, even with the unpleasant landslides 😅 it's a good way to handle situations like the thais, because being upset only worsens the situation. When you can't change the inconvenience there is no need in being angry. And waiting in such a beautiful guesthouse can't be that bad ❤
Tbh I criticized your last video a little bit and I never really leave comments, that' why I decided I will also comment more often when I like the video very much. 99% of the time I enjoy your videos and I have to show my appreciation more often :)
What a trip! Beautiful place. Very brave of you and thank you for sharing.
Wow, thank you Paddy! What perfect capturing! I can see all the work and love you put into creating this epic and beautiful journey. All the different perspectives and angles. And thank you for taking us even through the unplanned and otherwise seen as failer experience. Ps I don't think this way but I probably would feel frustration and stress. But you have shared them with such calm and even humour that this was very enjoyable to watch! Thank you!
I love this channel. I don’t know what it is. It’s addictive and you know what I’m watching your whole video here it’s fantastic. It’s fun hanging out and seeing what you’re up to. It’s kind of a fun adventure. Thank you.
Great video, Paddy! This video brought us back to your 66 provinces adventure. Hope to see more of this! Will be great to see you pillion Ms P on your bike and skidding through the muds and rain as well as going underneath those cables 😜
Glad you're living the dream, I remember when you started this channel, what an adventure it's been. Appreciate the consistent hard work you've put into this. Do you miss creating with the budgeteers? Ever planning to have a reunion series? Hint Hint!
really love your voice and your vid! it's like i'm watching a documentary. it's a vibeeeeee
Wow! It reminded me so much of 2021, and your tour of the 70 provinces. Even some of the music you used back then. I thought we were going to get Pandemonium. 😁
Your video is just beautiful, zen, the landscapes are heavenly, especially in the mist, and you are absolutely right to take it all philosophically.
Mai Pen Rai, for sure!
You really did hit our floods, Paddy! Amazing video as always and for those of us who live in CM, a lesson in where the flood waters came from!
Getting away for a few days is nice. Staying there for a long time can be a bit daunting.
Hi Paddby, I’m Thai, but I don’t know why I like to watch your videos traveling through out Thailand 🤣
This was such a good video - love your work, Paddy.
Just came across your channel today, and instantly fell in love with your videos!! Your voice is so soothing! Will definitely have to visit Chiang Dao soon!!
