Hi Emily! Thank you for your reply. I'm a new quilter, I just started one year ago and saw your Collage in FB and I bought your book and some supplies and also I bought your Rooster pattern and subscribe to your RUclips channel. I saw this pillow cover with this amazing flower and I felt in love with it, I'm a flower lover. Thanks again, love your art❤
Sew fun to watch you! I’m working on my first collage project…your Cactus pattern! I ordered the needles you suggested so I can quilt it myself too. Thanks Emily!
Great video! I’ve watched several of your videos and I can’t wait to try this! I just bought your orchid pattern but now I want a pansy pillow too! Thanks for the helpful videos!!!
Thanks Emily for sharing another informative video on a beautiful quilt block…kudos to Amelia’s cinema photography skillset too. Cheers! ☕️❤️✂️🎨, 🇨🇦JustJo
beautiful and so inspiring! do you normally or sometimes use a stabiliser/interfacing on the back of the assembled collage top? I know there is fusible but I thought I saw some white backing before you made the sandwich. I struggle with puckering when quilting a collage piece to a plain backing plus batting. maybe I should add stabiliser or another fabric layer wrong side up like you did with this pillow. thanks for all your great videos!
I actually don't use stabilizer. I wonder if you need to steam and press the collage onto the background fabric a little better to ensure that it lays flat when quilting!
Hi, I love this pillow cover, is so beautiful. Please, can you tell me where I can buy the pattern? I didn't find it in your store. Doesn't matter if is digital or paper pattern. Thank you ❤
Thank you! This pattern was a freebie for people who signed up for a block of the week program a few years ago, but it is a good one and I should make it available on my website. I'll try to get it up for sale as a digital pattern in the next few days :)
Great question! I don't bother stitching around each piece, rather I treat the subject as a whole and "doodle stitch" on it. Here is another more recent video about the quilting process: ruclips.net/video/bk6Rl3lccqo/видео.htmlsi=Y4FKWnc2ovjMQ9L0
I could watch you do this all day. It helps me learn how to do this myself.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
I love the simplesty of your quilting designs. Very beautiful, I think for my next pillow cover will have more depth of love. Thank you for sharing.
Amazing. I am getting good at this technique, thanks to you Emily
Glad to hear it!

Awww.... thank you so much for the kind words and enthusiasm! You are going to love this world of creativity with fabric :)
You have a good eye for color coordination. I have seen many a quilt that the colors just don't look right together. Good job! 😊

Perfect timing. Just about to start quilting the first three squares from last year’s 12 Days of Christmas quilt. So helpful.
You are so welcome!

Thanks for this helpful video. When you change your thread do you change the bobbin thread too?
No
I’m curious, do you use a neutral thread in the bobbin and just change out the color in the top?
Yes I do!
Can these be quilted on a long arm? I have a Qnique 15 pro.
Absolutely, collage quilts can be quilted on a long arm machine! Just use a larger needle, polyester thread, and adjust thread tension as needed.
What are your settings on your bernina with Bsr foot on?
Yes please!!!
Do you try to go around each fabric piece or are you mostly focusing on keeping the quilting density about the same overall?
Great question! I don't bother stitching around each piece, rather I treat the subject as a whole and "doodle stitch" on it. Here is another more recent video about the quilting process: ruclips.net/video/bk6Rl3lccqo/видео.htmlsi=Y4FKWnc2ovjMQ9L0
I have just watched yoour video, and I want to know which bobin thread are you using. Thanks
The same as my top thread, Isacord 40 weight
Beautiful work Emily! Do you ever quilt your collages on a long arm machine? Just curious.
Yes, however I prefer my domestic machine! I actually just took down my long arm and put it into storage.
Have you ever used 505 basting spray?
I don't like using spray because it gets everywhere
Are you using a BSR foot?
Yes
Did she say what her stitch length is?
It's the default length for when I'm using my stitch regulator. I think it's either 2.0 or 2.5
