Burden of Kings actually combos really well with the Mantle of Ultramar. Only S10 and up can ID a Warlord with that buff, plus the FNP will actually matter if he's effectively T5.
Yaaay, Ultramarines! Been waiting for this one. Cant wait for part 2. I like Prides dark power from the fuff perspective. To me it’s traitor but not really traitor. Just some dudes who wanted emporium secundus to last little bit longer haha. The legion trait is powerful but makes you play kind of suboptimal (taking “spotting” units for “main” ones), which in turn makes you take different units.
Hey man, great video, really enjoyed it. I was a little perplexed about a comment you made regarding the Legatine Axe; only Suzerains can take full units armed with it, and whilst Praetorians can access it, they are limited to 3 at most, including the sergeant, and given that the Praetorians are pretty much locked in at 1 attack a turn, I would question how useful that would be. I would also point out a pretty crucial caveat with that boarding shield; it DOESN'T convey the Heavy keyword, meaning that if the model joins units with Heavy (such as Suzerains and Praetorians) they will lose the benefits of Heavy (such as rerolling saves against blast and template weapons).
The legatine axe is pretty much busted because of suzerains yes. Its very good on praetorians too but theyre a much more reasonable unit. Note that the argyrum doesnt replace a boarding shield, and selecting the boarding shield makes consuls and praetors heavy. A bit silly, but you end up with heavy, and 2 shields technically - needs an errata to clear up but works perfectly fine as is, no thanks to the way its written!
@@michahanuszkiewicz9409 they do, suzerain have 4 attacks. Its clearly a unit that is too point efficient compared to anything else. Perhaps dawnbreakers.
Question regarding Suzerains: If you use their Honour Bearers ability to add them as Retinue to your praetor, the way I read it they become one unit with the praetor being considered the squad leader - could you then add another Independent character, say a Chaplain, to that unit? It seems too powerful, but at the same time I cannot find a rule that would forbid it.

Ultramarines have some solid rules, but they fall well short of Iron Warriors, Imperial Fists or Dark Angels. They do get better if the units in the Legacy PDF are used, at least. Fulmentarus, Locutarus and Invectarus are all solid unit and they lift the Legion to be more comparable to the better ones.
@@michahanuszkiewicz9409 because other Legions are stronger due to having a far greater wealth of unique , powerful options. Do the Ultras have plasma flamers? Or units that can run around firing 40 str6 rending shots that hit on 2s? Or the ability to buy Teleportation for their Terminators? Nope, Nope and Nope. But the PDF does unlock some additional unique units that offer things other Legions don't have.

@@michahanuszkiewicz9409 you're missing something. Lucky for all of us, GW has provided rules for additional units that people can take. I'll be taking a full squad of Fulmentarus, and will invest in some jump infantry to run the Locutarus once plastic Heresy jump packs are released.
Not deceptively. They are insanely over the top broken. People making "so called" tier list an placing the Ultramarines at "balanced" are clearly completely out of their mind...
I dont think theyre broken as a faction, they just have a broken unit (suzerain), and another broken unit which people should pretend doesnt exist (fulmentarus)
@@Hearesy issue is that people are starting to play with IF Huscarls, Iron Havocs, Deliverers, so yes, Fulmentarii do exist. The special unique dread is very good for the Price as well. @@Hearesy And another broken unit, the Locutarus. Those guys cost the exact same as Templars, except they get jump packs and 5+ rend and +1 to hit in CC (if you shoot their target with anything else first, like a rhino), all for free. So you better send them to chop a Leviathan instead so they take two rounds and cannot be shot in your opponents turn.
Dang was hoping you'd hit the unique ones too. Wanted to see a breakdown of Remus/G-man. Though happy to get the breakdown!
Theyll be in part 2!
I’m looking forward to your new videos every day, brilliantly succinct and no superfluous nonsense 👍 keep it up!

Varies with work and kids, but 6 in the last 2 weeks, another 2 coming this week, and 2 events to come this month. Probably 8 + events on average?
Looks like the blue boys were using marker lights thousands of years before the Tau. Eastern Fringe doing Eastern Fringe!

Doing the same - for the same reason. Like it.
Alright, fine, looks like I'll have to start a loyalist legion as well...

Yep. Talked about these in my pdf review - one of the many reasons these pdfs need to be ignored or modified.
I feel totally tired of the way GW promotes the baffled rules of Ultramarines in its games.
