Glad you sorted out the copyright mess. Excellent job as always! On a somewhat unrelated note, music playthroughs filmed at high speed always look funny, I'm not sure why :-P
2:11 I thought that was a yawn at first LOL I was about to say I know this dude isn’t flexing on us like THAT 😂 Incredible job man. and that lick you did (you know which one) was tastier than the pizza I ate last night
thanks, Werner. I have recently changed from a 1 mm to a .6 and found it much easier to perform cross-string jumps without having the pick grab too hard. TY for the info 😀
Cheers man, you're welcome! I actually find playing more technical stuff to be easier with a thicker pick. Reason for using a lighter variety is that it seems to even out my overall tone a lot more. Enables me to go a lot less heavy on compression when creating my final tone.
What size strings are you using? Also can you share your bass eq knob and b7k settings? I have the combustion NG2 with the darkglass tone capsule and b7k? Awesome job!
Gauges are: .127 .098 .075 .058 .045 Bass EQ : Active mode -> Bottom and middle in series -> Bass 3/4 Mids 1/2 Treble 3/4 (1/2 being untouched) B7k: Blend -> 2 Level ->1 Drive 11 Low ->1 Lowmid ->11 Himid ->11 Treble -> bit past 12 (All these numbers relate to the clock) Switches to attack and raw mode. Remember, I have the Glockenklang preamp in my Dingwall, not the Darkglass pod that you probably have. Also, note that I blended this b7k affected signal for slight grit, with manipulated lowend from a parallel bass track to achieve my final tone, also the necessary effects and EQ in logic. I'm glad you enjoyed it man :) There'll be a lot more coming up on the channel very soon!
Nice cover! Can I ask a Q? I'm a guitar player looking for a bass...This one sounds great but -- the three pickup thing...isn't that annoying? Does it really need three pickups? IDK I'm just used to having an area where I can get my fingers down in there, in the middle.
There are Dingwalls with ony two pickups, i actually play with fingers and i prefer the three pickups because they let me go faster, but if ur gonna use a pick it really doesn't matter, what matters is hat they give you a lot more tone versatility
Federico Garcia I'm going to guess they're Kalium strings. Kalium is one of very few string makers who make strings long enough for a Dingwall. They also make strings in insanely heavy gauges too.
Hey man, I'm new to bass and this is a noob question but how do you pick across the strings with your hand moving so much without hitting the others? It looks like you're about to hit them but you end up being dead on? Thanks!
Hey man! Not a noob question at all. It takes some time to develop good picking technique and I'm not even close to perfect by any means. It's all in the muscle memory, meaning you have to just practice this a lot and jumping strings properly will become natural to you. You'll begin with hitting the wrong strings all the time, but it gets better as time progresses. Start slowly by picking scales up and down. Also try string skipping by just picking octaves and doing that in all ways possible. Begin at a low tempo and pick up the pace as you go whenever you excersise. You'll notice that you'll get the hang of it the more you practice. I hope this helps! Good luck with your bass playing, I hope you don't put it down anytime soon :)
Hoontsz Just keep at man! I've only been playing bass and guitar for half a year, and I started off finger plucking to songs that were meant to be picked. I used to hate using a pick, but I eventually got better at it the more I used it! Watch some RUclips videos on proper picking techniques and also do what Werner said and eventually you'll get better. Most bass players pick with a semi-closed fist, I still hold the pick with just my thumb and index finger and keep the last three fingers open. I kind of mimic Paul Gray's picking technique since I'm also a lefty bass player!
It's all practice my friend. I started with a pick and I would play songs at a slower tempo and exaggerate how high the pick went and slowly brought it closer as I got better and went faster. I mostly play fingers nowadays but I still regularly practice with a pick so I don't get rusty.
sick work my dude. not a criticism but there was definitely a little less "clank" on the higher notes than in the original recording. did you intend for that or?
Can't say I really agree with you there but If you thought it really needed more ''clank'' I deffo didn't intend to do that. Live by the clank, die by the clank.
I'm using a relatively thin pick here which might make it lose some of that clank we bassists are always after. I went very easy on actual compression because of the even character a thin pick already provides.
Dingwall+Darkglass= Better love story than Twilight
4:32 didn't expect that at all lol sick dude!
4:32 noice
Girls just wanna have fun.
I will never not get chills from the shred part after the choir chorus. I can't stop watching this video because of it.
Ah, the classic "Yes I too think I'm pretty badass"-face at 2:44, quite appropriate here. Awesome cover Werner!
The tone is just absolutely perfect. You sir are excellent.
Man, that bass tone is fucking incredible.
You’re extremely talented! You always manage to upload the best cover on the planet.
Dude, those sweeps are on point. Love that tone, too.
Watching this again....I'm so wowed at the tone and the fact that there's no string rattle or buzz whatsoever.
that's the power of a Dingwall and good intonation.
with lauren babic!! you are so talented! you earned a subscriber
Just watched a few of your covers! Your killing it dude keep up the good work!
Very well done
Dude! Spectacular cover! Oh my gosh that lick at 4:32! Insane! Also, that bass looks sick. What bass is that?
Also, are there tabs for this?
Its a Dingwall ABZ from the looks of it
Dud, your bass tone is fucking awesome!
Cool cover! Loved the bass sound :)

You did a sick job dude! And great that you got around to transcribing it, which I was too much of a lazy fuck for :P
Where? I can't find them
Thats a really good banana bass you have there
Glad you sorted out the copyright mess. Excellent job as always!
On a somewhat unrelated note, music playthroughs filmed at high speed always look funny, I'm not sure why :-P
Cheers dude! But you know what else looks funny filmed at high speed? **insert generic yo momma joke here**
I like this song and this bass sound !!! Congrats Werner. 🤘🤘🤘
So good! Thank you!
Awesome job. Beautiful bass. I just ordered a blue swirl NG2. Cant wait for it to arrive!!!!

Amazing cover man
Dude, fantastic!
Nice tone mate! :)

4:30 Really Cool Man!
Tight!
Awesome work!! ur amazing :D
Nice bass lml
that motherfuckin dingwall tone
Dude you just fucking rule all these song! Keep it up man, you should cover The Way the News Goes, that'd be hype
I'm thinking Flatline right now. That bassline is insane, I'll keep TWTNG in mind for sure though :)
What tuning is this in? Killer job dude
The song itself is in Drop C but by the looks of it he's using standard 5 string tuning.
King_Babba there no way this in standart 5 string tunning, no way B standart be so heavy like this
you are awesome!

Sick tone! Are those flats? I can't quite see it clear enough, but I think those are flats....?
What are you tuned to for this song? It sounds like A standard but I'm not 100% sure.
Ultimatu Looks like standard five string tuning to me
What preamp are you using?
It's running through the Microtubes B7k Analog Bass Preamp. It's actually a pedal instead of a rack unit.
Werner Erkelens
Thanks!
Good shit :)
Great tone...massive note size with the Dingwall. And great vibe/groove. What pick are you using, if I may ask?
I'm not too ''picky'' really huehuehue. I believe I went with a Dunlop .73 mm tortex pick for this one.
I think I just witnessed the fill to end all fills... 4:32
I watched it twice at half speed and again at quarter speed without audio. Just as impressive.
I need to learn to sweep on bass.
hi man great video, ive got a few dingwalls and i was wondering what strings you use ? thanking in advance
Nice cover! Can I ask a Q? I'm a guitar player looking for a bass...This one sounds great but -- the three pickup thing...isn't that annoying? Does it really need three pickups? IDK I'm just used to having an area where I can get my fingers down in there, in the middle.

which position of pick ups u usually use in this ng 3 ?
bro can you do a bass cover for passenger??
which pickup position did you use?
Hey Werner, good playing! what strings do you use there?
Federico Garcia I'm going to guess they're Kalium strings. Kalium is one of very few string makers who make strings long enough for a Dingwall. They also make strings in insanely heavy gauges too.
What Bass is that? Also really nice cover dude 10/10!!!
The Zesty Chunk dingwall
Have you only your bass part of this song pls?
AMAZING job! Do you by any chance have tabs?
What tuning?
DUDE!! Do you have tabs for this? It's amazing
I'm sorry to say that I don't. I always do these things by ear and am too much of a lazy fuck to transcribe them.
+Werner Erkelens Such a shame :( I'll try learning it by ear then
Good luck man, I hope this cover helps a bit!
This cover does help. I'm actually transcribing it right now :)
r u gonna upload it :)))
What’s the tuning?

Practice and practice. Adjust and always try something different to improve.

Is there a bass lesson of this song on patreon?
There isn't a video lesson on my Patreon, but I do private bass lessons on Patreon if you're interested in learning the song from me!
@@WernerErkelensyes I’m interested in learning from you
@@rishabhsinghsolanki8375 Awesome! Pick a tier that suits you on patreon.com/wernererkelens and I'll see you soon for a first lesson! 🤘🏻
Is it more difficult to play with slanted frets ?
Eat Ass takes a bit of getting used to. Not too bad though.
Need a 5 string for this? (Great cover btw)
no
04:30 o.0
what's tnning this song ?
Believe he's playing in standard bass tuning. But the songs regular tuning is drop C, or as nolly plays it on bass GCGCF
жЫыыр🤘🤘
tuning?
you should audition for the bas role
Tuning?
tuning used?
ValdirSR it's originally drop C

gotcha. i just wanted your price is wrong cover and i thought it sounded a bit better. dunno if you did anything different there

Mate you ought to audition to replace Nolly as the touring bassist.
Nice man! Love how you put that lil' arpeggio in there, really tight! I've finished Marigold as well so come check it out ;)
Flappy..
Your bass is yellow.. I can't take you seriously.....
Just kidding..
