Nobody really knows but the best guesses are that he was really fast and that the agility he possessed was thought to be because he had less bones/ lighter bones. Another is that he was really flexible, some believe it's due to impotence.

Ragnar and Ivar the boneless are the two awesome Vickings in the movie and so is Floki. I love the actor who plays as Ivar because he makes Ivar even more better and he is a really good actor for having to be someone that cant walk, that has to crawl to move. He also moves pretty fast for someone that has to drag himselves to get from one place to another.

Ivar is played like a fckin psycho and i love it. I mean the stories tell that Ivar was one of the most feared Viking Leaders and this series show him in such a good way

Everyone says he would be unstoppable with working legs. What made Ivar was that he was a cripple. He needed to work 10x harder than his brothers for anything. Ragnar and floki made Ivar. His brothers and villagers making fun of him made him. Ragnar telling him to be ruthless is what sparked the fire. Aslaug's death is what changed his soul.
