Sounds to me that you’re trying to force something that you don’t enjoy. Off-roading and moaning that things break, RUclips and complaining about editing videos, small businesses ownership but not wanting to have to deal with the mountain of shit behind the scenes. Makes videos you’ll enjoy filming editing and funding, all three aspects have to bring you at least satisfaction and some joy.

I've often thought about being a content creator (RUclipsr), but like you, I hate the BS that will go with it. I bought all the cameras and drones, got my part 107, but I'm like you, I don't BS or sugar coat anything. People call me an asshole for it, but in reality, I'm just being honest. It is what it is. Hell, you can't even make a simple spelling mistake without 10 people criticizing you about it, and most of the time its spell check changing the spelling. I see how being a RUclipsr could be very frustrating. By the time you make a video, edit, add music, color grade it and try to watch a shit ton of youtube videos on how to use Adobe or some other program, you've invested more time than a normal full time job, and for what? A little bit of coin in the hopes that you get more subscribers to make a little bit more coin. I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze. If someday I do decide to be a RUclipsr, I think it would be best, for me anyways, to post videos. And if someone wants to subscribe, then fine. If not, that's fine too. Anyways, I just subscribed to your channel. I would rather watch someone that is realistic like me, than watch someone that is fake and just wants subscribers. Don't bother with the negative comments unless they are trying to make you do things better. Don't worry about not hearing about people, RUclips only selects certain chanels to show you. The system tries to sirect you to whaat it wants you to see but not what you actually want to see. 1 video spams you with loads od similar on music, but on off road stuff, not so good at getting good chanels and content. It's quite poor algorythems to be honest.
I only recently found your channel and I appreciate the content. If you went into RUclips thinking you're going to become rich and make money that may have been your first mistake.😂 That being said my theory is do the videos because you enjoy them and enjoy sharing with your audience and whatever money comes your way take, it as the cherry on top. I don't have a lot of subscribers but I enjoy making videos of my projects and I'm much the same way, I say it the way it is and if it offends some people that's just the way it is. I don't try to offend on purpose but I'm not going to blow smoke up people's asses either. Unfortunately the society we live in these days makes it seem that everyone on RUclips is filthy rich and got that way because of RUclips. Also the term influencer has become somewhat of a joke because people don't realize that it's just life. We have ups we have downs we have bills to pay we have to prioritize our funds and to me providing for mine and my wife future is much more important than telling someone something they want to hear. As for the negative comments, I don't even respond to them. I won't give the keyboard warriors the benefit. Keep telling it like it is. 👍

From one small channel to another. I think you guys are putting out solid content. Some videos will always do better than others. One of my Colorado videos broke 30k views and another didn’t even hit 1K. Really not much rhyme or reason to it but the family memories make it all worth it.

I like watching your videos and for me this video is great because one of my kids thinks the easiest way to get rich is RUclips and i spend a lot of time telling him nothing is that easy. I wish you the best and my only advice is focus on the fun of wheeling and the great memories you're making with your kids that's worth more than anything. I really thought your last several videos were your best videos to date! Sorry to hear it isn’t working out for you like you worked toward it to do. I stumbled onto your channel with your head unit installation video and it was helpful watching it again when I installed mine. What keeps me watching your channel is that it's not so polished and scripted - painting a perfect infomercial picture to help sell sponsor products. I get it that content creators need to make money to keep producing the content but man it's tough finding videos that aren't selling something anymore. I find myself starting to seek out channels with low subscriber counts in hopes that they will have less of the sales pitches. Anyway, not sure how you can make money as a youtube content creator without selling sponsor products or chasing whatever gets subscribers. Just wanted you to know that I personally watch your channel because of videos like this where you're honest about the realities and struggles in addition to showing some great family adventures.

I see a lot of "RUclipsrs" getting burned out trying to do continuous content. I think it is better to find better sources of income than content creation. And while we are transitioning to full-time travel, we have no plans to fall into the same trap others have believing they can live off of content creation. We will upload videos, but no regular schedule of uploads. Hope to see you guys next year at Moore Expo '24.
@@dcurry8147 no, not at all. I’m just saying that I’m seeing a lot of burnout as creators are finding it more and more difficult to create fresh content. Then add to that the changes that the platforms make to the monetization requirements, which seem to leave less money for the content creator. In Ben and Brandi’s case, I think they were a little too ambitious about being able to build their audience so quickly. And, as they pointed out, it takes far more time to edit the content than a lot of people understand. That is why most successful content creators farm out the editing work or have hired people to do that work.

Many of the people I have spoken with say that RUclips makes up a much smaller portion of their total income stream than it did just a few years ago. But RUclips is still important as, at least in my mind, it provides a the gateway to other future income streams.

You’ve gotta have thicker skin if your going to put anything online! If you can’t take stupid people and stupid comments then your in the wrong business. Great videos, great content, but you have to be able to ignore them and move on with your life’s and make the videos for you and because you enjoy it.

The reason people keep throwing out hate is because you keep entertaining it. Not worth the time it takes. People watch RUclips because they enjoy it and it helps escape day to day life, most people have enough problems that they don’t want to see anyone else’s. This comment isn’t to bring negativity or hate.

Before the craziness of social media, a family out 4 wheeling, camping, overcoming the ups and downs of a month on the road...together...would have been just another great piece of the American Story.

I like watching your videos and for me this video is great because one of my kids thinks the easiest way to get rich is RUclips and i spend a lot of time telling him nothing is that easy. I wish you the best and my only advice is focus on the fun of wheeling and the great memories you're making with your kids that's worth more than anything. Maybe we will see you on the trails somewhere someday. And the only wheeling most of your haters have probably ever done is watching a RUclips video.

I really thought your last several videos were your best videos to date! Sorry to hear it isn’t working out for you like you worked toward it to do. I know you put a ton of work into it and really tried hard. I see RUclips pushing silent videos of camping and they are getting thousands of views. Just lakes me scratch my head and wonder. I stumbled onto your channel with your head unit installation video and it was helpful watching it again when I installed mine. What keeps me watching your channel is that it's not so polished and scripted - painting a perfect infomercial picture to help sell sponsor products. I get it that content creators need to make money to keep producing the content but man it's tough finding videos that aren't selling something anymore. I find myself starting to seek out channels with low subscriber counts in hopes that they will have less of the sales pitches. Anyway, not sure how you can make money as a youtube content creator without selling sponsor products or chasing whatever gets subscribers. Just wanted you to know that I personally watch your channel because of videos like this where you're honest about the realities and struggles in addition to showing some great family adventures.

I see a lot of "RUclipsrs" getting burned out trying to do continuous content. I think it is better to find better sources of income than content creation. And while we are transitioning to full-time travel, we have no plans to fall into the same trap others have believing they can live off of content creation. We will upload videos, but no regular schedule of uploads. Hope to see you guys next year at Moore Expo '24.

@@dcurry8147 no, not at all. I’m just saying that I’m seeing a lot of burnout as creators are finding it more and more difficult to create fresh content. Then add to that the changes that the platforms make to the monetization requirements, which seem to leave less money for the content creator. In Ben and Brandi’s case, I think they were a little too ambitious about being able to build their audience so quickly. And, as they pointed out, it takes far more time to edit the content than a lot of people understand. That is why most successful content creators farm out the editing work or have hired people to do that work.

Many of the people I have spoken with say that RUclips makes up a much smaller portion of their total income stream than it did just a few years ago. But RUclips is still important as, at least in my mind, it provides a the gateway to other future income streams.
