The late Michael Meere playing tin whistle at the “Blast from the past” in 1994

Michael came from Ballygriffey, Ruan. I first heard him play at the Shanaglish singing sessions. He had a lovely relaxed style of playing the tin whistle and it was no surprise to learn later that he won All Ireland Fleadh in Sligo playing the piccolo. He passed away in 2013 just a week short of his 89th Birthday. May he rest in peace.
