I love lyrilusc but the new support made them way too strong. You can now consistently ftk through a lot of boards and hand traps. Before they needed a bit of luck and an equip card or multiple turns to pull this off. The fact that they are still barely a tier 1 deck (if even?) really speaks how broken some other decks are.

Playing a bunch of new goofy decks is definitely how I keep the game fun for myself. It's lead to some incredibly bad ideas that when they work make everything worth it. Nothing quite puts a smile on my face when it comes to Master Duel than winning with my (mostly) all hand traps deck. Its a rarity, but when it happens oh boy is it fun!
I am mostly shocked Monster Reborn isn't part of the default deck that he builds all his decks from. -I'm happy that chat initially quoted Yami Marik's Ra chant and not Atem's-
they severely need to limit tribe brigade monsters this guy played through four hand traps and still nearly otk'd all without even using a normal summon yet the deck just has so much free advantage it can go in entire turn with a full board of monsters almost otking without a normal summon
It's just a very negative mindset to have. You don't have to play the best of the best in this game in order to have fun and still win games. Sometimes people wanna play rogue decks, and sometimes they wanna play meme decks. Hell, just because they're jank doesn't automatically mean they're bad. They're just not consistent. This isn't competitive Smash Bros Melee or some shit, a lot of decks in this game can win games when they have a good pilot. Plus it helps that there's a lot of different archetype synergies in Yugioh that you can take advantage of if you're willing to. Hell, I even make Gravekeepers look good in MD. It just takes a lot of Kaijus, 3 skill drain, and a Numeron Dragon OTK setup. Either i'll beat you in one hit, or i'll lock you out of the game, lol. I've even been experimenting lately outside of MD with using Junk Converter and Mare Mare shenanigans in my Synchro Impcantation deck. You have no idea how invigorating it is to have both Red Supernova Dragon, Chaos MAX Dragon, and Borreload Savage Dragon on your board at the same time. It's a fucking power trip, lol. Granted, its balanced out by the fact that its not the most consistent thing in the world (its consistent enough, but there's gonna be brick hands every now and then since its a ritual deck that isn't Drytrons).
Agree, rogue players like us just want to have fun and enjoy yugioh..getting to plat while playing them is just a bonus. Been playing Cydra, Galaxy eyes, Blue Eyes, Chaos Max and now Pure Despia (just because its new in MD lol). Also the winged Nibiru of the Primal being sounds cool and funny at the same time.

I got to Plat 1 in five days, free-to-play using Gren Maju. As soon as I hit Plat 4, every game is just eldlich/tri-brigade/Drytron/ sky strikers. I totally agree, super boring seeing the same decks ten games in a row. Gold 4 is probably the most fun rank to play in. Most variety of decks.
The other day I played against a Flower Cardian deck. T1 I played Maxx C. I was playing a 45 card deck. He decked me out T1 by Special Summoning 41 times.
That why i run droll and lockbird. I max c a six samurai deck only for them get me down to 6 cards left in my deck. If it wasnt for droll i would have lost.
There needs to be a punishable to players who surrender after they took 5 mins to summon an unbreakable board and your opponent breaks through it and starts their combo.
The real trick is using meta cards to create meme decks. Dogmatika and Tri-Brigade are far more meta in other decks than with each other, but it still kinda works while managing to bring together lore relevant archetypes. I got tired of people using Kaiju on Sky Striker, so I started running Kaiju WITH Sky Striker. It's a bit bricky but adds so many funny OTK and board breaker lines. And turtle is a scary omninegate machine while Kaiju counters are up.
As much as I despise the sky strikers, if I lost to a build with kaijus I would start out mad that I lost to that, but then I'd consider it to be kinda based.
That guy who came it saying “I use eldlich and tri brigade” is such a loser I literally built dragon maids as my first deck cause it was funny and they were really fun to play like even when I lost if I made a cool play I would feel so accomplished and I have a crystal beast deck I don’t use it to be meta I use them cause it’s fun
All I know is that many meta decks have died to banlists over the years, but I’m still having fun with my dumb little robots using Morphtronics and Deskbots since their inception Though in all fairness, using top meta decks is fine, so long as people aren’t dicks about it - most people not using meta simply chose not to, and it isn’t really a skill to look up the top decks

Paired this with lose 1 turn and summon limit. not only are their effects negated when special summoned but also cannot attack until their next turn. And when summon limit is in play they’re only allowed to summon twice, negated summons count towards it as well

But alas, you only find bones and some sort of ritualistic purple robe. Suddenly a large crash echos through the room, you turn and see a coffin lid in the center of the chamber has fallen off. Bones start to lift from it in the air as if in command by an unseen hand. You run to the door, but find it tightly held in place having moved on its own while you were searching. Duel Logs from The Duel Logs tells us that if we have fun, then we aren't being as good as we could be, then proceeds to tell us to have fun. That is of course the optimal strategy. If you tell your opponents to have fun (be bad) then you'll win more yourself.
A lot of rogue strategies also rely on a lot of special summons. If you limit the number of special summons, the strongest decks are going to be those that bring out their big Negates in as few summons as possible. The meta would devolve into Eldlich Floodgates and Draco Floodgates.
Honestly, nowadays, the only thing that could help yugioh without breaking the game in some way would be a greater variety of officialy sanctioned formats

I play Crusadia and I've won many games because my opponent thinks they'll survive an attack from Equimax boosted by Maximus. I started playing Wind Witches and I end up beating true draco players pretty consistently by summoning their level 8 syncro that can't be destroyed by battle or card effects. Just sit on that and eventually they deck out or surrender.
your "progamer tip of the day" was actually the same thing some semi-successful austrian yugioh player told me about 15 years ago lol. i cared more about having fun than playing the best meta decks etc, and he said that "me having fun is dumb and i'll never be really good at the game unless i change my mentality". he was right, but i enjoyed playing my little fiend deck with skill drain. nowadays some of my back then favorite cards are super strong lol
1:22 Oh nooo! Aki has been discarded to the GY! 2:20 I've been playing Sky Striker since release (when I'm back to YGO! after like 10 years or so), and only play them since then. Always want to learn other deck, but more often than not, there is barely any guide to start for basic combo, and the one with guide is kinda outdated (most of the time). Only when MasterDuelMeta come around, I can finally learn some new deck like Traptrix, and maybe Madolche next. There is definitely other site for basic combo, but it just so spread out between couple site. My masterpiece with Sky Striker is Grass Sky Striker Avida (and it is fucking awful, but fun lol).
I got a pro game tip for master duel. Dont.ash.blossom.danger!.cards. it gets negated but you can just reveal it again. Ash doesn't stop danger! Cards. If it's just a negate it won't stop em. Now negate and destroy cards will work. Js
These can fuck up a bird up deck -going first and build a board that negates 2 or more -nibiru like any other decks -droplet and if possible raigeki or lightning storm -any tribute like lava kaiju etc And if they have no answer for a maxx c, (no ash or crossout desi) You can pretty much do well and win. If you're going second, you either droplet or tribute kaiju/balls of ra They rage quit Game is just a "do you have the hand to build a strong board or can you break the board that the enemy made"
Most the decks I slap together have one or two combos that’s probably won’t win me the game, but making that ‘WTF’ face appear on my opponent is what counts to me 🤷🏼♂️
I’m currently building few decks but if you want to climb and you’re playing shit that ain’t my fault. Rookie-sliver is the best to play all of your cool meme decks. I don’t get why there isn’t a casual mode that waiting forever in a duel room.
i play tri brigade, it was fun to learn combos and stuff, after loooong time not playing yu gi oh ( last time in synchro era), but.. well.. i always liked more underdogs myself - so i built madolche deck, i know, it isnt really non meta, but atleast it is different
I honestly have the same mindset, the meta decks bore me and I’d much rather play for fun with fun decks and I also personally love building character decks on master duel!
Sphere mode is normal summon tho so it will still go through Though it’s actually rare that tri-brigade player that uses simorgh didn’t actually put in stormwinda

@@zaqareemalcolm it's just that the archetype itself can do great plays too. They can use Lyrilusc xyzs, Hraelsvelgr, Apex/statue, Draglubion combo, Totem Bird, Storm and Simorgh of Darkness disruptions, hell they can even go for Armor Master and Shuraig if they want. That's what i do with them.
The zeus play might not have been that bad a play tho. Because he used zeus' effect, duellogs couldnt use soul crossing or sphere mode (which he didnt draw as an out. It is possible that he realised that duellogs was playing a god deck (which is usually ra) after seeing guardian slime, so he decided to deny him the possibility of being able to setup with the field he built. I'd argue that his zues play was actually a good one, even if it might've been just monke buttons.
Not having Monster Reborn made it not lore accurate but the opponent scooping before Ra shows up made it lore accurate again.

I just created a Dogmatika deck with Albaz and the dark kaiju in it without the dogmatika ritual monster. Having a blast with it!

your "progamer tip of the day" was actually the same thing some semi-successful austrian yugioh player told me about 15 years ago lol. i cared more about having fun than playing the best meta decks etc, and he said that "me having fun is dumb and i'll never be really good at the game unless i change my mentality". he was right, but i enjoyed playing my little fiend deck with skill drain. nowadays some of my back then favorite cards are super strong lol

2:20 I've been playing Sky Striker since release (when I'm back to YGO! after like 10 years or so), and only play them since then. Always want to learn other deck, but more often than not, there is barely any guide to start for basic combo, and the one with guide is kinda outdated (most of the time). Only when MasterDuelMeta come around, I can finally learn some new deck like Traptrix, and maybe Madolche next. There is definitely other site for basic combo, but it just so spread out between couple site. My masterpiece with Sky Striker is Grass Sky Striker Avida (and it is fucking awful, but fun lol).
Sky striker was my second deck and gosh I love that deck it's not the best like Drayton or tri brigade but it's the most fun I ever had in a deck

I got a pro game tip for master duel. Dont.ash.blossom.danger!.cards. it gets negated but you can just reveal it again. Ash doesn't stop danger! Cards. If it's just a negate it won't stop em. Now negate and destroy cards will work. Js

Most the decks I slap together have one or two combos that’s probably won’t win me the game, but making that ‘WTF’ face appear on my opponent is what counts to me 🤷🏼♂️

I’m currently building few decks but if you want to climb and you’re playing shit that ain’t my fault. Rookie-sliver is the best to play all of your cool meme decks. I don’t get why there isn’t a casual mode that waiting forever in a duel room.
7:15 12+19>30, 30+30+20=80, so their 2 main deck monsters + shuraig + birb was lethal, that's how my brain thinks about it
i play tri brigade, it was fun to learn combos and stuff, after loooong time not playing yu gi oh ( last time in synchro era), but.. well.. i always liked more underdogs myself - so i built madolche deck, i know, it isnt really non meta, but atleast it is different
I honestly have the same mindset, the meta decks bore me and I’d much rather play for fun with fun decks and I also personally love building character decks on master duel!

Use a DDD deck with Oracle King d’Arc to get your health nice and high then put down a Dragon of Ra to get the beefiest damage ever

basically everyone using really good generic links that just happen to be part of an archetype
@@zaqareemalcolm it's just that the archetype itself can do great plays too. They can use Lyrilusc xyzs, Hraelsvelgr, Apex/statue, Draglubion combo, Totem Bird, Storm and Simorgh of Darkness disruptions, hell they can even go for Armor Master and Shuraig if they want. That's what i do with them.

Both went small brain lmao. That dude with using Zeus and DuelLogs not including Monster Reborn when he put Ancient Chant in his deck. Classic.
The zeus play might not have been that bad a play tho. Because he used zeus' effect, duellogs couldnt use soul crossing or sphere mode (which he didnt draw as an out. It is possible that he realised that duellogs was playing a god deck (which is usually ra) after seeing guardian slime, so he decided to deny him the possibility of being able to setup with the field he built.
I'd argue that his zues play was actually a good one, even if it might've been just monke buttons.
