    I've own one for 2 years and i love it. I traded in my Honda gas mower ( which I've always had) and have no regrets. Not cheap but you get what you pay for...plus it looks cool.

      Great to hear from someone who has had it for a while, thanks for checking in.
      My daughter says it looks like a warthog 🙃.

    A lot to ask of a little 19”electric mower. For a yard that size and that much leaves I would have my 23 hp, 46”cut ride-on do the job and all leaves would be gone. For my purpose of getting into small places and slopes I am definitely getting this mower. Retail price today is $700 cdn. plus a 15% tax. An additional AK30 battery runs $150.00 plus tax. Definitely not an inexpensive setup. Only consolation is, Sthil will send me a free FA57 U trimmer (tool only) fr my wife. I already own the FSA80R trimmer and love it. That totals roughly $980.00 in Canadian dollars out the door. 🙀👍🇨🇦👨‍🦳

      I borrowed this mower to make try it out and make a review. It’s definitely not big enough to take care of my lawn.

    Great review and very informative could you show how to remove the blade and reinstall again thankyou

      Thank you. Unfortunately, I just had a loaner to perform the review so I can’t do a blade removal video. But, I’ll keep it in mind if the opportunity arises.

    Stihl is a great brand. I had the RMA 510 version for one year, but I sold it. Those mowers are good for overall maintenance mowing. I tried cutting at a low height and it did not pick up well or bag well. Plus, I had to overlap my passes almost at 1/3 over, which equates to more passes. I already had the battery powered KombiMotor, so buying the mower was more of an experiment.

      I agree, it’s hard to be the best in every category but Stihl is always very good. If you buy something from Stihl you know what you are going to get.
      I also agree that this mower does not have the lift of some gas mowers. The batteries still don’t have nearly as much energy as gasoline so they have to be more efficient. They have taken mass out of the blade, have less lift on it, and spin it slower. I was impressed with bagging performance and airflow created by the plastic fan they added to the blade assembly.

      The Toro Super Recycler is your no compromise electric mower. For me it was between the RMA 510 and SR. Ultimately I went with Toro because of their mower and snow blower line up

    i myself bought the 460 to go with our sunjoe older model i love both for different reasons stihl cuts tough tall grass which is my backyard sunjoe can handle its own but its 17 inch but it cuts the grass rather short vs 460 i let spouse use 460 so have partner mowing 1 acre grass were peddle bikers we push mow to keep in shape we have not used rider mower in 2 season s honestly i love stihl more than sunjoe for raw power none stop cutting i say that cause we tag team mow we have 2 batteries for each Stihl has more height options that actually work it plows thru tall grass better sunjoe cuts very low being older 40 volt when it dies stihl will be my choice for features

    Did I see that right in your video that you can pull the mower back to you while cutting, no back up brake engaging?

    • @TheLawnEngineer
      @TheLawnEngineer  3 месяца назад

      Absolutely, you can pull it back. Note that this model is not self propelled.

      No, any Stihl dealer you buy from will put it together for you.

    What about repairs? Do you think service centers care about electric mowers and are skilled or experienced in it?

    • @TheLawnEngineer
      @TheLawnEngineer  11 месяцев назад

      I don’t expect they are worth repairing. I know electric motor rebuild shops exist but they are pretty expensive.
      I expect the electric components to last as long as a deck. Same reason auto dealers don’t like electric cars…shop business is too to plummet.

      When I spoke with a dealer, they told me they rarely see an electric mower come back for service.

    I just bought an RMA 510 and it doesn't have enough suction to pull up the grass pushed down by the previous pass. Looks like crap once the grass stands up again; narrow rows of original height grass! I mulch at 3 inches; less weeds and water..

    • @TheLawnEngineer
      @TheLawnEngineer  2 месяца назад +1

      Were you mulching before? Unfortunately, I have had this experience with all types of mowers when mulching. I explain why in this video:ruclips.net/video/ECFreYJAPcI/видео.html

    Did you mention that thr battery cant be used akth every stihl battery tool?
    That's why I sold mine and went to anothsr system.
    Those AK, AP + other battery systems was a poor chpice by Stihl.
    The other issue with the self propelled version is the erogonomics, it requires modification to bs comfortable to use for more than 5 minutes.

      I did a couple videos of Stihl battery tools and mention the different battery formats in their offerings. Your summary is spot on, thanks for taking the time to share.

    1000 buvks in batterys to run for a hour😂 what a joke

    • @TheLawnEngineer
      @TheLawnEngineer  3 месяца назад

      That’s a bit of an exaggeration but there there still is a price premium for battery electric. As battery production ramps up this should ease.

      @TheLawnEngineer no u have any idea what it takes to get these batteries to us? They aren't getting cheaper. When Ryobi can make a battery that last 30 Minutes. This is a joke
