I turned 40 last year, and the back injury Arman is talking about sounds like something I dealt with. I used to race motocross when I was under 20, then did shows in my 20s. About 10 years ago, I picked up downhill mountain bike racing, and I still do that but with my own age group. Every once in a while, I get a pain in my lower back that seems to go from my spine to my hip. It's like a line of pain. It first happened in my early 20s and would always come up when I moved weird, even doing normal stuff. It still happens at least once a year now, but back then, it was constant. I ended up buying one of those things that holds you by your feet and relieves spine pressure. I got on it, and there was a pop. My friend had to help me off because I thought I made it worse. Five minutes later, I was walking fine. I tried it again, and the same thing happened, a pop in my lower back. Hours later, the sharp pain was gone. It was still tender, but that was just from inflammation. The relief felt like a miracle. Now, whenever it happens or I feel the signs, I get on that thing, and it almost instantly goes away. I’ve never had a pop like the first time, though. Thought I would share incase anyone else has a similar issue. EDIT: people wondering what it is called, called a back inverter.

Watching the things he was doing during fight week, it seems odd he would be doing those things if he had lingering back issues.

I can relate man I pulled my back in 2019 doing heavy t bar rows and it took 6 months for the pain to go away. Now if I train intensely for more than a month it flares up. It’s one of those injuries that just flares up at the worst time.

Those who say they would have fight anyway have clearly never had a seriously jacked up back. Just to BREATH hurts, it's not just pain it's immobilizing. It's not a matter of will power, everything in you says stand up or whatever movement you're trying to do, your body just refuses to do it, it's like you're not even trying.
Similar to if you've ever had nerve problems. I used to be a repair man and would climb on top of buildings etc, I had a few occasions where I jumped up on something intending to push myself up on top of it, and my arms simply REFUSED to even attempt to push, from an onlookers viewpoint, lol, you simply would have seen me jump up and bounce my upper body and face off of whatever I was climbing on.

I can relate man I pulled my back in 2019 doing heavy t bar rows and it took 6 months for the pain to go away. Now if I train intensely for more than a month it flares up. It’s one of those injuries that just flares up at the worst time.

I know all to well and arman got better awfully quick. I also had injections that resolved the pain with 24 hours. I was pain free for a month. I'm sure he had that at his disposal.
