I made this same edit on cassette way back in the day, but I was forced to use the PF version from Delicate Sound CD as it was around the time of the Berlin concert so, early 90's. Definitely sounds better with the Pulse version. The DSOT version seemed very subdued compared the edginess of the Berlin show. Also I used to always transpose my CD's of Radio KAOS and Momentary Lapse in the opposite cases, trying to mentally will the to parties to live in harmony!! Oh well...
Very nice, was it recorded in 1979/1980? I always imaged that Gilmour further developed 'the second solo' during the later tours, but the basic musical structure is all here already.

That version on the P.U.L.S.E release is somewhat shorter than the one broadcast on PPV (the same show). 9:29 on P.U.L.S.E; 10:42 or thereabouts PPV.
Yes, the CD version sounds more structured. They have edited out parts of the solo that do not actually work so much on repeated plays.

if you put the playback speed at 1.1when gilmour starts to sing ,and before the final solo, it sounds better.
