Thank you SO much for making me aware that a vocal version of Space Harrier's theme song exists! It just so happens that Space Harrier is one of favorite Sega games ever and hearing Takenobu Mitsuyoshi sing to it is making me gush quite a bit!
What are you talking about? The game was rebuilt on the Saturn version so it can run 60 frames per second. Rebuilt means everything including the music.
While browsing my bookmark lists, I noticed I had this song bookmark on Soundcloud, but the track was deleted. I was close to shedding tears because I loved this track, but it's been years since I listened to it. It didn't take long to find this video though, like 5 minutes. I'm so grateful that I found this song again and also had no idea it was from a video game too. Maybe one day I'll try out this game for myself.
This song was childhood 😊 while everyone else was getting playstations, I recieved a sega saturn 😂 all my friends were like wtf is that 😔 but some of the weirdest games for sega saturn were my complete childhood like Bug, Bug 2 & Knights! Back then, the sega saturn came with 3 free games, virtual fighter, virtual cop & Daytona USA, this song is the main reason I got soo many victories in that game, when you hear it, gets you in the happiest mood, Ah! Memories 😊
This song gives me comfort vibes of a simpler time! Specially going to Albertsons supermarket as a kid getting the chicken family dinner and renting Sega Genesis games and Movies!
My Cousin (Jamaal, Munchie, and Tweety), and my Uncle Darryl had Sega Saturn on Christmas Day Wednesday 1996 at that Blue Apartment in Dartmouth Rd in Bessemer, Alabama
As much as I prefer the MIDI voice sampling from the original on arcade, I find it funny how the Saturn version (despite being heavily compromised to run on the hardware) technically has the better audio of the two.
That’s why nothing and no one can beat 90’s era gaming. The arcade SEGA era alone wipes out anything now. I’m not that impressed with the new era of gaming at all. Just a bunch of movie games like the last of us. Rinse and repeat. I don’t know if I’m watching a video game or a trailer from paramount pictures. If your an 80’s born. We had the best time for Gaming The 90’s and early 2000’s
I don't think you understand how much life this song gives me.
Sorry but, I had to extend this. I love it too much.

I really love the high amount of vocal songs Sega put into their games in the 90s and 00s. I guess this was the game that kick started the trend.
Some Sega arcade games songs have words that weren't in the game like Space harrier.

I disagree, I prefer the Model 2 version! They could have put the Model 2 OST on the Saturn version, but no, "better" CD Audio :/
What are you talking about? The game was rebuilt on the Saturn version so it can run 60 frames per second. Rebuilt means everything including the music.
Sorry but who wants to listen some simple tune from model 2 that is too predictable to get along with? Tends to get very dull.

That was so weird. I listened to this song and closed my eyes. All of a sudden it was late 1995. Open my eyes, and we are now in the present.
