- ROLLING STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRT!!!
I do not own Daytona USA, the song presented in the video, or anything else related or similar. Daytona USA is owned by SEGA. BUY THEIR GAMES, ALREADY, SO WE CAN GET THE DREAMCAST 2! And yes, I'll be getting more music uploaded from this game, as well as the Championship Circuit Edition music. And the others titles, I've put up already, too. I'm just spreading out my interest. I’ve always imagined a Middle aged Japanese guy in sunglasses absolutely Rocking the fuck out recording this track.
Oh the 90’s
Well, the composer and vocalist Takenobu Mitsuyoshi was 26 when Daytona USA was released in 1994, but I can definitely see him rocking it in sunglasses while recording this track.
Please tell me that I'm not the only one who plays the beginner course, just so I can sing "ROLLING STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAART" obnoxiously when the race begins.

A time where SEGA still focused on Sonic but gave their other IPs a chance to shine
Yeah ikr now its all SONIC
A decade ago I'd agree, but it's really more Yakuza now. Sonic still gets more than most of their classic franchises but not by that much, especially when you consider that Mania and the Boom subseries were outsourced.
I think what it is is that Sonic and Yakuza (and PSO2, but that's one continuously updated game) are the only of Sega's big sellers that people who call themselves "Sega fans" generally care about. The rest is Atlus games and things like Total War and Football Manager.
iirc, this was actually Sonic’s dry period.
Not that I’m complaining though. We got stuff like Panzer Dragoon, Nights, Virtua Fighter, and Daytona USA. So many good games.
@@Just_normal_youtube_channel afaik it was only sonic's dry period because SoJ didn't want STI to make xtreme, with yuji naka in particular sabotaging them by preventing them from using the nights engine, which would've helped development immensely.
Then they gave up when daytona 3 released
This is the best version of "The King of Speed". Never really fully heard the original at the arcade because of how loud the sound effects were, and the newer versions that came out after this Saturn version don't hold a candle to this one.
SEGA could've just reused the arcade music on the Saturn port and called it a day, but Mitsuyoshi-san not only made the music sound better than arcade but even improved his vocal performance. Mad respect to him for going the extra mile for that effort. 🙏🏼
It's because Saturn sound hardware is a huge improvement over the Model 2
I remember the Xbox 360 version has the Arcade soundtrack, and I think an arranged option! I can upload gameplay later if you want to see it in action(don’t know if I can use an Xbox One/Series X with a Capture Card Though lol)
@@mlcs Not exactly, the Saturn could have red book tracks so actual Audio CD tracks could be played. The model 2's RAM chips didn't have enough space for that music quality. Takenobu Mitsuyoshi redid the entire tracks for the Saturn too :)
I love coming back to this song and reminiscing about the good old arcade days. I wanna visit Japan someday when this pandemic slows down and visit arcades again!!
Damn Right 💯💯💯
PLEASE CHOOSE MANUAL OR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
*"GENTLEMEN... START YOUR ENGINES!"*
(I am not sure if the voice over says it exactly like that, but it was one of the coolest Daytona USA things)
EDIT: Minor correction
kokubunji I used to love playing it in the arcade back in the day.
***** arcades in my area still have it, albeit with broken steering (no resistance) and very very twitchy transmission
No, it is "Please choose manual or automatic transmission".
Leonardo Navarro "please select"
Joao Matos "please choose"
When I was in junior high school, I played it all over the arcade! Nostalgic!
『SEGA Model 2』 boards are great!
So nostalgic for this today. Reminds me of sitting next to the fireplace at the TV after having just opened my new Saturn on a snowy Christmas day.
“We need a main theme song for Daytona USA and fast. Quick grab that electronic keyboard, a bunch of 90’s albums for reference, and the nearest Japanese man for the singer!”
the bassline itself and the chord progression told me that it was made with great care and not so rush , it fits the Eurodance standard of that era .
Listening to Daytona USA soundtrack whilst driving to work is what us adults call exhilarating! 😂
This is one of those songs I come back to yearly once we enter Spring/Summer as it has that "roll down the window and cruise" kinda vibe to it.
Thanks for uploading this :)
That awkward moment when you completely annihilate the other three players because you know how to drift into the final turn.

Good music!
My favorite line in the game was always ( NICE GO EASY ON THE CAR!) This game will make anyone hyped cause it had some great songs to sing along to or just listen to with the Saturns built in music player. They just don’t make music like this anymore. This proves that Sega really put effort and love into there games.

A new winner!
Se essa não é a melhor música de games para corrida, eu não sei qual seria. O coração acelera só de ouvir os primeiro segundos. Qualquer um se sentia piloto jogando.
Eu gosto dessa música mas pra mim a melhor é provavelmente a Move Me do Ridge Racer

Maravilhosos tempos aqueles.
