In Tunisia we have a very similar tradition called حق الملح (literal translation: the price of salt), so when the men come back from the Eid prayer the wives meet them at the door with a cup of coffee, the husband drinks the coffee then puts a piece of gold in the cup before handing it back to his wife. Its supposed to symbolize that the husband appreciates (and hasn't forgotten) his wife's sacrifices and effort (the salt of her sweat and tears :p ) throughout the year.

Mashallah eid in muslim countries are always something amazing to witness! They go all out and everyone there is literally all happy. Here in my hometown in america we have a small community so eid isn't as big 😥

Looks like we won't go through the whole eid routine this year, no one is surely ready to visit many relatives and greet them with hugs and kisses, this year is gonna be so different, wouldn’t wonder if eidiat (greetings) could be done online to avoid gatherings🤷♂️😅

for jordanian people and all muslims we wake up on morning praying, then we sacrifice a sheep sharing it with our relatives and we also give some of it to poor people, we also make mansaf and sajia
and the most beautiful thing in eid is takbir (saying allah akbar).

Maybe next eid you will bring a sheep and show us how you cook its liver on breakfast.. it is a tradition btw... you should also experience this for adham.. usually kids love the "sheep" and playing around it. No pan cake for next eid lol .. your Jordanian! Sheep liver on adha morning :D:D
