My friend was hired to sail Mystic Rose from the Domincan Republic all the way to Florida. But one issue after another lead us down endless days of repairs. Every day sailing the Caribbean was a struggle, mixed with some of the most beautifuly places we'd ever seen. You wouldn't believe how gorgeous Hogsty Reef and the Blue Hole are. The water is crystal clear. And Hogsty Reef is an unihabited island!

@@moonlightsoldier8443 I thought of the same thing, if it's a cable issue. But we weren't there and it was a stressful time for them. No point in playing armchair sailor at this point. We can just enjoy the story.
Bad decisions make for great stories
You will have learnt so much from this journey! I'm thinking maybe an electric outboard motor for no wind and no (diesel) motor days? You would need substantial batteries and solar panels though.
Not my boat - i was just unpaid crew. But I learned a ton! And in spite of the trauma, I want my own boat. Can't afford anything like this, but a little starter sailboat maybe...

Yo. Spykers! My friend was hired to take it from the DR to the states. He invited my along to hang out on what was gonna be a pleasure cruise, lots of fun stops on a recently repaired boat. Turned out to be the opposite!
It was miserable a LOT of the time. There were a few fun moments.
I stayed on to no abandon my friend, and was always thinking we'd fixed everything.. then something else would go south.
My son left after a week in South Caicos. I could have, but again, my friend, the captain...

What disaster of a boat and irresponsable group of sailors for going at sea in this conditions. That equals trouble and putting your crew life in danger . Bad seamanship !!!

@@phoenixlove76no they didn’t. If you don’t have a seaworthy boat, don’t leave. Simple as that. Nobody gets kicked out of the DR. You can literally stay for 10years without any visa issues.

Bro why don't you just fix the engine like the old rings are freaking broken? Your clamps are garbage it's like. Why would you even take the boat into the sea when you knew? There was problems with it this is how people die
All we did was fix that thing from the second we got to the DR. I was just supposed to be crew on a fun delivery. Not my boat. The trip was not what I anticipated and was often miserable. But hey, adventure! I won’t forget it. And learned a ton.
