After 9 days of repairs in Nassau, we attempted to sail the Mystic Rose back to the good 'ol USA via the Bahamas. But, true to form, 10 mintues out, during a storm, the engine quit. So we dropped anchor and called for help. Yes, we had to be resued at sea. Who woulda thought? Guess how much it costs to be rescued at sea?
Here's a clue: When the Mystic Rose went aground in the Dominican Republic, it cost $12,000 for the rescue! But that was much more gnarly.

No, you shouldn't have stayed in the RV. This is way more fun. My brand new 2023 RV has been in the shop for almost 50 days. It has been broken since we bought it.

@@LyfeUntethered WHY...do you have to gett in to a slipp....nott preperd fore storm.....only 1 anker......purehpase the fail you deed was waitig and not act becuasse the storm as you call it deedet not arose before later.......and if you dont know jack.............become his best friend.....lololo...be well and stay on dryland....so strange that the weatherreport was nott looked at before departure.....what was rong withe the engine..
@@perfstaas7188 We needed a slip to figure out what was wrong with the boat after spending 9 days working on it. We OF COURSE looked at the weather and the squall was no big deal. We have 2 anchors that work fine. Even tho we replaced the fuel filter AND the Raycors.. there was yet another clog in the fuel system.
I knew way less 4 months ago, but I've taken 2 long trips in this boat and have learned a ton. I can now fix a lot of stuff on a boat. Learning!
