    WOW! To see the process and transformation of the flute being able to play. I'm sure he was so happy. Great video!

    I do not make or repair flutes - I only play them - and this video was exceptionally interesting to me. I was glued to the monitor for the duration of the video. Would love to see more videos like this (only if it's once a year or so).

    I don't mind hearing you talk about what you are doing and why this and what happens etc etc. It's how one would learn, especially from one so experienced! I am making my first flute and I appreciate these videos for sure, it helps with ideas. I hope my first flute does well but I am starting fresh with no prior experience and very limited tools. But no matter how bad or good I do on this flute I will learn and I will still cherish it all the same. Half the way I learn best is by watching and listening, the other half is actually doing! Philámayaye! Thank you!

    Chalk up a win for Blue Bear! I find repairing flutes and other instruments to be very rewarding as it allows you to use existing skillsets in a slightly different context, such as you encountered with the flute's holes being laid out in a non-traditional ratio, for example. As always, enjoyed the video, prattle or no, and look forward to the next.

    Thank you for your video. As usual very instructive. Watching you fixing this bad sounding flute, with your comments and thinking, all live in front of us, is a must to ser. But let me tell you something. You are "guilty" of my native american flute addiction now man ! I did my first branch flute following many of your vids, and a second flute for my niece is almost complete. For me, this activiy of both trying to make a flute, and then play it, calm my mind a lot, for that I thank you so much. Merci

    I just made my first North American toubat style wooden flute. And… it works on an A Maj scale! I have made deerbone flutes but watching your videos were a tremendous help to me when learning how to make my first wooden flute. I live in Alberta, Western Canada and so i used Ash wood. Thank you for sharing your skill and wisdom 👍

    Definitely will have to buy your flute making book. I hope it has a section on drone flutes. I burned in the finger holes in my reed drone but it's just lacking something. It doesn't sound right. I may just get more reed and try again😅.

    this is great stuff to watch. Charlie, you are a true artist. its so nice to be shown how things happen in the shop.. I love my small back packer I still play daily .. so funny you made that little comment at how playing 6 hole flutes does something to your brain ....lol. and I just ordered a 5th drone... which technically has 6 holes... LOL. im sure you meant 6 holes per flute which disqualifies the 5th drone which is actually 3 holes on 2 flutes as a drone....right? LOL just kidding no worries.. im looking fwd to you working on my dream flute. thank you for being here.

    • @BlueBearFlutes
      @BlueBearFlutes  11 месяцев назад +2

      That's a great question. That depends on the flute you're trying to make. I have numerous other videos and book that offer that information.

    • @BlueBearFlutes
      @BlueBearFlutes  11 месяцев назад +2

      In other words, it is specific to the size material you're using and if you wish to make a flute in a specific key, the material has to match the key. For this reason, I have countless other videos and have put even more schematics in my book.
